I'd like to share my detailed experience with North Edmonton Kia over the past year.
In May 2023, I was in the market for a fully loaded Sorento. The dealership showed me a 2021 Sorento X-Line, but due to an AMVIC inspection requirement, I couldn't test drive it immediately. Trusting their assurance, I bought the vehicle and took it home. Over the next few weeks, I realized it lacked the specifications and options I desired. Research revealed that the X-Line model wasn't what I needed; I wanted the X-Line SX.
Returning to the dealership, I referenced their claim on their website about exchanging vehicles within 30 days and 2000 km if unsatisfied. I also wanted to cancel the warranties. They assured me it wouldn't be a problem and had a 2023 Sorento SX arriving in early June. Emphasizing my deadline before the 30-day limit, they reassured me they would handle everything. I signed papers and left a deposit based on their promise.
Upon being informed the new vehicle was ready, I returned to complete the paperwork with the sales team. During the process, I noticed nothing about the exchange or warranty cancellations, leading me to inquire. They explained these matters would be resolved in the finance department post-signing. However, in finance, I was told the warranties couldn't be canceled as the 30-day period had lapsed. Despite my earlier request and assurances, they offered to adjust the contract figures to compensate, though the process seemed unclear and complex. Eventually, the total cost broke down as follows: $55,801.25 for the new vehicle and a total due of $77,854.93, which included $22,053.68 carried over from the previous vehicle and warranties.
Dealing with the service department was similarly frustrating. Despite a lifetime oil change agreement requiring servicing exclusively at North Edmonton Kia, my first appointment, scheduled in advance, took 4-5 hours. The same delay occurred during my second visit, prompting me to seek faster service elsewhere, completing it in just 30 minutes. Upon returning for the third service, I was informed my lifetime oil change agreement was void because I had not adhered strictly to their service schedule. Additionally, I raised concerns about a coolant smell and loss of fluid in the reservoir, but despite their diagnostics, they found no issues or need for further investigation. The reservoir continues to lose fluid at a significant rate, yet I've been assured that nothing is wrong with my vehicle.
Overall, my experiences with North Edmonton Kia have been disappointing, with promises unfulfilled and service quality falling short of expectations.
