Peter and Mike were very accommodating and patient as we test drove several cars until we found one we wanted to purchase. They were not pushy or did not makes us feel pressured to purchase a car at any time. We were impressed with the salesmens knowledge, professionalism and very down- to-earth approach. Peter went over every detail with us and answered all our questions to make sure we understood and made the right purchase. We appreciate his honest, straightforward, positive manner. He had the paperwork done and ready to save us time. We were treated like family not customers. It was an absolutely wonderful, painless, car-shopping experence. We highly recommend Yorkdale Toyota. My last service visit was very unpleasant and eye opening. I went in with the intention of swapping my All Season tires to Snow tire as well as storing my All Season tires with them. While waiting for my car the Service rep came and explained that a nail was found in one of the snow tires and he told me the cost to repair it which was very expensive, so I asked as a loyal customer to your dealership can that cost not be discounted. I was told no his guys can't work for free, I said I am not asking for them to work for free. The Service rep was not very pleasant which is okay he's standing his ground and protecting the interest of his worker, however I have been loyal to them taking my car to get service there instead of the original dealership I purchased the car from. Mind you this dealership has no incentives or loyalty programs for customers like other dealerships have, yet I still come here . I pointed all this out to the rep, I felt so devalued as a customer that I cancelled storing my tires there with them as well as not make an appointment for my next upcoming service which would be a costly one seeing I am nearing my 64,000 kms mark. Yorkdale Toyota lost all my years of business and referrals all because they found it difficult to repair a hole in a tire at a discounted cost. More

Excellent Experience I walked in to Yorkdale Toyota looking to get a new vehicle. Sergey Druc (Sales and Leasing Consultant) took his time to talk to me about the vehicle I was interested in. Sergey even offered me the opportunity to test drive the vehicle I was interested in. Then I got the chance to meet Peter Themelkos and Bilal Aslam (Managers) and they welcomed me with open arms and treated me like family. I should also mention that everyone at the dealership is very friendly. After purchasing the new vehicle, I was looked after by Simona Kahanek (Financial Services Manager) and she took her time to go over all the warranty coverage and protection packages. After spending some time there, I walked away with a smile on my face, knowing that I was extremely satisfied with the experience. To sum up everything I have stated, I will definitely be back to service and purchase vehicles from Yorkdale Toyota in the future. I will definitely recommend Yorkdale Toyota to family and friends. Racist & Unprofessional I only wish Google Ratings had a ZERO Star rating for Yorkdale Toyota. This by far is my worst customer service experience. PLEASE heed my warning sta I only wish Google Ratings had a ZERO Star rating for Yorkdale Toyota. This by far is my worst customer service experience. PLEASE heed my warning stay away from this dealership. My story goes as follows, I saw a 2015 VW Jetta while doing an online search which Toyota had on sales. I booked an online test drive on Sunday 25 September evening and a sale associate contacted me 30 mins after to confirm the reservation for Monday evening. Monday afternoon the sales associate called me to confirm that I would make the appointment, which I then confirmed I would be. I as then verified that the vehicle was still available, which he confirmed still was. I work in Georgetown which is 44 km away from the dealership, but it might as well be 200kms away in rush hr traffic at 4pm. When I final got to the dealership an 1 hour 15 mins later, I’m told that the car is sold. However, the purchasers credit application failed, and was working to get a cosigner. The Manager then suggested that they could do a backup deal in case the purchaser was unable to find a cosigner. I agreed to do the backup deal and placed a deposit of $1000 in cash and completed the required paperwork. I was then told that they would contact me once they had received status on the cosigner’s eligibility. Surprisingly the very next day the sales associate contacted me with good news that cosigner had not be able to finance the vehicle and the car was all mine 100%, (Verbatim). However I still needed to coming in once again to go over some warranty coverage. So once again after work I at 4pm I made the 1 hour 15 mins journey to the dealership. When I got there I was congratulated by the pre-owned Manager (Alfredo) and the sales associate. I then asked to test drive the vehicle to make sure that everything was ok. Which I did and was satisfied. When I got back to the dealership the manager and sales associate where nowhere to be found for 15–20 mins. When they final reappeared the manager walked me into the main dealership to meet with the Business Manager to go over the warranty. When I was finally introduced to the business manager “Alex” the man looked me up and down with a look of utter distaste. Yes, I’m a Black man, Yes, I’m 6”+ tall, and I wasn’t wearing some outlandish clothing. I have a tee, Barbour jacket and boot cut jeans. Which is besides the point I’m human, but this man looked at me as if I was about to beg him for change. He then proceeded to try and sell me on extended warranties that didn’t make sense for me to buy since the car only 12,800 km on it and came with a 4 year/80000 km warranty from VW with an additional 5 year/10000km powertrain warranty on top of that so I respectfully declined. I explained to him that I would be keeping the car for 2 years, but he was just interested on upselling me what I didn’t want or need. After this he was visible frustrated and he’s mood changed immediately. He was very disinterested for the rest of the process. When it came to signing the new bill of sale I mentioned that there were two dents on the vehicle that the sales associated had mentioned he would fix. However, I didn’t see any mention of the details in the contract. So he then called the sale associate to verify. While waiting for the associate to come over to the office he gestured that I leave the office and wait outside. For no apparent reason. I’ve held sales management positions for 13 years in Canada and the US. Rule #1 You never, ever, ever let a customer walk out of your office until they have signed. I should have known better and just walked away at that time, in hindsight. Please read my 1st review I wasn't able to fit the full review. 15 mins later the associate came in and confirmed the issue with the dents. This was then added onto the new bill of sale. After almost spending 1 ½ to 2 hours at the dealership that was that or I so thought. The very next day I got a call from the sale associate to inform me that the car I thought I had purchased the previous day was SOLD!!!!! Yes, SOLD!!!!! I was unable to talk extensively as I was on the way to a meeting. I informed the sales associate that I would come down to the dealership later to get an explanation. The manager on duty (Sumit) then gave me a completely unacceptable answers. Stating that the original customer that had wanted the vehicle finally got approved through a 2nd cosigner. Further stating that there was legalization that gave the purchaser 48 hrs to complete the deal. I then asked why then I had been called and told repeatedly that the vehicle was mine to purchase. No valid answer. If Toyota understood Ministry regulations why would they violating them? I further asked him how “THREE Managers” couldn’t follow regulations or have the common courtesy to call me rather than having a newly hired sales associate who is still in training to call me. No reply. I then explained to him that I had wasted over six hours as well as rental car costs to ensure that this deal was closed. He didn’t empathize at all. He just told me that he would look and see what why could do for me. Wednesday 10th marks 2 week when this all happened, I have not received a formal apology or received any form of compensation for my time or my travel. On the same day (Wednesday) I then requested for my deposit to be given back to me. Which the manager (Sumit) on duty ok’d. I was then lead to reception area to get my refund only for the receptionist to tell me that they couldn’t give me back my cash deposit or even a debit refund since it was against their “policy”. I would only be able to get a cheque. Not only that, but I would have to wait until the next day for the cheque. Any rational person will be through the roof at this point. No manager intervened on my behalf. Alex (Business Manager) just stood an earshot away just watching and didn’t even try to come over and explain or help. To add further insult to the whole matter while I’m at the front desk the pre-owned manager (Sumit) calls the receptionist asking if I have left. Mind you I’m standing right in front of the receptionist and can hear the whole conversation. She then says over the phone that she’s going to serve the next client that came after me, of which she does ignoring me. RACISM is still alive and well, and you can find it at Yorkdale Toyota! I understand that I’m black and have a physical stature, but I never once acted threatening or disrespectful, to any of the staff. The CCTV footage from the evening of the 26th, 27th and 28th of September will prove it. It will also prove everything else that I’ve mentioned in this letter. I don’t have time to spend writing frivolous lies. Neither am I foolish enough not to know when I am being racially profiled. I speak to you from the bottom of my heart as a human being. If you have any form of respect for human beings I implore you never, never, never buy from Toyota. Especially Toyota Yorkdale. More
