After several phone calls dealing with a car insurance company the last thing on my mind was to buy a car. Knowing I was short on time I reluctantly went out looking for a car. I checked in first with Yorkdale Toyota. Upon walking in I meet a friendly face. Sales associate Stan (The friendly Russian). He was pleasant to deal with. We took a test drive and I was ready to talk about purchasing. I advice Stan I was not ready to buy that day. I had not yet negotiated the settlement for my car with the insurance company. I was going to buy a car that week. He understood. He was ready to work with me. Unfortunately Stan's manager (Peter) was called upon to help with the deal. After negotiating the price we came to a stand still. He would not budge. I would not budge. This was the first attempt of the day. I said I was going to check and compare elsewhere. I decided to leave. Before I left Peter says, "This deal lasts today only". Really? He also tells me that his deal will be the best deal of the city. Arrogant? Yup. So? I left. For the next 2 days this bothered me. I got 1-2 calls each day from Stan to come back. I felt bad for Stan, he has to work with Peter. I found my way to "Toyota on the Park". Leslie and Eglinton. Upon walking in I got a friendly reception. Talked with Sales associate Eugene. Took a car for a test drive. Negotiated and bought a car the same day. Huge difference in service between these 2 dealerships. A lesson for me to remember is never judge a dealership by the actions of one person. My bonus was the deal I got from Eugene. There was a mutal respect and it was a better deal than Peter's offer. My persistence paid off. The thing that made me uneasy was "the deal was off the table" if I left. I don't know how many years Peter has with sales but that is a bully tactic. It might work on some, but it does not work on me. More
The worst shopping experience I've ever had Had an absolutely horrendous experience here the other night when my boyfriend and I went in looking to purchase a brand new car. Do not go here unles Had an absolutely horrendous experience here the other night when my boyfriend and I went in looking to purchase a brand new car. Do not go here unless you enjoy aggressive bully tactics when buying a car. We came in 2 hours before closing and it was apparent that the staff didn't seem all that interested in making a sale. It took a few minutes for anyone to notice we were there, the receptionist was away from her desk. When she came back she was dressed to leave with her coat on and everything. She directed us to a sales agent. We explained what it was that we were looking for and that we were planning to buy a car by the following day. We explained to them that as consumers preparing to purchase a $40,000 car we were doing our homework and research (as any good consumer would do). We were going around to different dealerships to see what each had to offer and what the best deal was. We were going to purchase from wherever we could get the best deal and whoever gave us the best customer service. Right away the sales staff became short, rude, an condescending towards us. They told us that they didn't understand what we were doing and that we shouldn't go to different dealerships because they were going to give us 'the best deal'. When we explained that we couldn't possibly know that until we went to other dealerships to see what they were willing to offer, the sales manager became extremely offended and started to rant about how he "doesn't play games". All I gathered from this is that they clearly knew they were no match for their competition. Competition in sales..this is the game the SALES manager refused to play. They refused to price the car for us until we agreed we were going to buy it right then and there. They did not want us to have to leave and come back the next day. The sales staff clearly had no idea how consumers shop (comparison shopping/competitive pricing), nor did they grasp the simple concept of good customer service. We had been to a couple of other Toyota dealerships to see what they had to offer as well, we explained to them how we were going to be shopping for this car, every other salesperson we had dealt with was extremely kind and understanding about our big and expensive decision. The staff at Yorkdale Toyota were rude, impatient, and extremely condescending. They questioned us on being first time new car buyers from a dealership and asked what we knew about buying cars. I've received better service buying a $3 cup of coffee. We left after they refused to price the car for us because we wouldn't agree to buy it...even though I don't think they understood that we couldn't possibly agree to buy the car before they priced it for us. We got in the car and drove to the Toyota dealership at Leslie and Eglington. Got there 20 minutes before they closed and made a deal on a brand new car, signed papers and paid our down payment right then and there. So I guess the Toyota at Leslie and Eglington should thank Yorkdale Toyota for scoring them a sale. More

Booked an appointment for oil change and it was determined that a recent recall was in effect. It meant leaving my vehicle. I got a loaner vehicle and a detailed explanation of the process for this fix. The important message for anyone looking for service for their vehicle at Yorkdale Toyota "you will be treated first class in terms of customer service" It's the very best customer service I have experienced at any dealership. Chis White the Service Manager definitely exceeded my expectations. He explained what was going to happen and stayed in touch with me as he said he would to ensure that I was completely informed. I would not hesitate to recommend Yorkdale Toyota. A Great Dealership with a focus on making sure the customer is treated properly. More
Happy New Car Owner! As a first time car purchase, I was weary of the nightmares I have heard about in buying a new car. However, my experience with 'Yorkdale Toyota' was nothing less than exceptional! It was a very smooth, comfortable process, leaving me nothing but happy with my new car and experience. I had the pleasure of dealing with Peter Themelkos, Stan and Ivan, all who helped far surpassed expectations. From the moment I called to simply inquire about a car, to driving off the lot with a car I felt happy and comfortable with, Peter and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, leaving me ecstatic about my new purchase! Would highly recommend this dealership. Thank You Yorkdale Toyota and Staff! More
We have bought gently used Mazda 5 2012 off lease vehicle. Sales representative we dealt with was of a great help. We have received a very reasonably priced offer without too much haggling about the vehicle. Sales representative we dealt with was of a great help. We have received a very reasonably priced offer without too much haggling about the price. Vehicle was brought to a perfect state as part of pre-sale conditioning without incurring additional cost. Great friendly service. Very polite, knowledgeable and helpful sales representative (Ivan Palamarchuk). Highly recommended. More
Long story short, after being blantantly lied to and cheated - and having a brand new car come with some small scratches, nothing was done to appease us, nor to compensate us for the time we had spent w cheated - and having a brand new car come with some small scratches, nothing was done to appease us, nor to compensate us for the time we had spent waiting for our car, and would have to wait for the car to be repaired. After demanding to be compensated (albeit, lower than we had overpaid) for a surcharge on licensing that we had put on a bill of sale, in advance, someone who was part of the management team, initiated and continued a screaming fight on the sales floor, in front of numerous staff, in which he yelled, "I do not even want to sell you a car, I do not want your business" (strange, considering we were about to drop $30,000 for a car, and over a discrepancy in our favor for $89). When I compared his lack of customer service, and gave him examples of stores in which store managers uphold promises or offers provided by sales staff, he said, "Do you THINK you can compare THIS with WALMART..." Yes..I believe I can. The employees at this dealership have a lot to learn about the service and skills theirs, and many other stores' customer service department has. This Toyota dealership was dishonest, degrading and completely dishonorable. Better spend your money elsewhere, they don't want it, nor do they deserve it. More
