The dealership manager... What dealership manager, he sucks, his services and his staffs service sucks, would I go back to sherwood Park hyundai again to get my my car fixed, xxxx no!!! It's the second time I go there, the first time they kept my car for three days "on the recall" you'd think that if they don't have the part they wouldn't schedule the appointment, what a bunch of no mind!!! The service simply sucks!!! Oh the manager Jason... Very sympathetic, did not offer anything... here's the service we give you doesn't matter if it sucks pay up. More

Initially, the service was good, however we are becoming increasingly more unhappy. Based on our experience, there is a good chance that you will have to take your car in multiple times to get anything done - and this is incredibly frustrating. Additionally, customer complaints do not appear to be taken seriously either. Consider going else where, as we certainly are. One would think that the place that sells you a Hyundai vehicle would know how to fix it properly, but it honestly seems that the people working on the vehicles do not know what they are doing and as a result, it has wasted our time and money on numerous occasions. Notable examples include: There was the time we took a vehicle in for an oil change. After it was done, I noticed some dark liquid that looked a lot like oil dripping from the bottom of the vehicle, so before even moving the vehicle, I went back into the service desk to find out what was going on. I waited around while they supposedly had a tech look at my vehicle again. The tech came into the waiting area told me not to worry: he had spilled oil when doing the oil change and so there would be some oil dripping out for the next few days but everything was okay. This turned out to be untrue. Four days later, I started my vehicle to leave for work and guess what? There was not a drop of oil in the vehicle; at no point, did the oil light on the dash board come on to suggest that anything was wrong, so this was quite an unpleasant shock. I could have wrecked my engine and ended up missing work that morning. I promptly phoned the dealership to complain and was given a round about (eg. told to drive my vehicle- without a drop of oil- back to the dealership- which is several kilometers away- so that they could look at it) until my husband phoned and got upset. Yes, then things started to happen and the issue did get resolved later that day, however their inability to do the job properly the first time cost me a lot of time and was a major inconvenience. Plus, to be told that everything was okay when it was not, I felt cheated. This is not the type of thing that I would expect to happen when getting a simple oil change at a dealership. Next, I wanted to get a spare key and remote. The service department told me that this would only take half an hour, but they managed to turn that into a headache as well. The first time I showed up for my appointment, as soon as I got out of my vehicle, a staff member told me that they were running several hours behind so they would not get to me today. I understand that things happen and people get behind, however they had my phone number and my appointment was not until the late afternoon; it would have been only fair to get a phone call- even an hour before my scheduled appointment- to inform me that they could not keep my appointment. Instead, I went through the trouble to leave work early and drove all the way from west Edmonton all for nothing. It's as though the customer's time means nothing. Finally after taking my car in for the second time, they managed to get the key done- just the key. I had made it quite clear to the staff member when dropping off my vehicle that I had wanted both the key AND the remote. I gave up on getting the remote; at this rate, it would probably take at least another two visits to finally get it and I have better things to do. In terms of our other vehicle, we paid a lot of money for a set of new tires. At first everything seemed okay but within a couple of days, something felt very wrong while we were driving. We took it back to the dealership and were told that the one tire was separating...to be having this issue with brand new tires that are less than a week old did not seem right- the old set of tires had lasted about three YEARS before one started to separate. We mentioned this to the service staff and they were unwilling to do anything besides sell us two more tires. We requested to speak to the manager, but despite going to the dealership in person on several occasions over the next few days, each time the manager was conveniently unable to see us. Finally, we got tired and frustrated of playing around and simply went to a different tire place where we ended up paying for a brand new set of tires for a second time...interestingly, the worker at the second place looked at the tires that Hyundai had sold us and remarked that they were not even completely round- they were defective. Our most recent issue is that for several months, our engine light has been on. We took the vehicle into the service department and were initially told that if the issue was not fixed, the vehicle could at some point, simply stall at the side of the road. This worried us because getting stuck somewhere is not very amusing and at the present, we need to have a reliable vehicle. So far, we have taken the SUV in three times and spent well over a thousand dollars, and every time we get the vehicle back, the engine light comes right back on meaning that they have not fixed the problem. After the third time, the engine light was on as soon as we started the vehicle to leave the dealership so we went right back in to the service desk and informed the staff that the light was still on, the problem was not fixed, and we were getting tired of this. Speaking to the manager Jason was not the least bit helpful as we got some long winded, technical explanation about how the staff go about finding out what's wrong and what we inferred is that they honestly do not know what is wrong, yet, it is costing our time and money while they play around and experiment. They sell the cars, they should know how to fix them. Now, at a time when we require a reliable vehicle to get to daily medical appointments and do not have the time to deal with anything extra, our vehicle does not start half the time, we are afraid to use it because we keep getting stuck, and we need to put everything on hold for a day to take this vehicle in for repairs yet again, for a FOURTH time. This is undoubtedly the most unreliable vehicle we have ever owned. I got stuck after work today and after finally getting the vehicle to start and making it home, I phoned the dealership to complain. The staff member stated that we should talk to the manager Jason who was not in- well, we already did and that accomplished nothing. The staff member also recommended that if we don't trust our vehicle, we should upgrade to a new one. Really? Our vehicle is a 2010- it is not that old. It seems as though Hyundai is more interested in selling us a new vehicle than fixing the one we have. We trust the vehicle, it's the horrendous service that we don't trust so why, after experiencing such poor service at this dealership, would we EVER consider buying another vehicle from them ever again? Today was the FOURTH time we took our vehicle in for repairs. Having the vehicle in repairs for the day was inconvenient for both me and the person who had to drop what she was doing to drive me around to my errands all day. We just picked up the vehicle, and once again, the problem is not fixed- in other words, there is a good chance that the vehicle will not start again and I'll be stuck somewhere. Once again, anyone we mentioned this to at the dealership tried to talk us into upgrading to new vehicle- in other words, start with car payments all over again. No thanks. As far as I am concerned, this level of service is UNACCEPTABLE. After hearing positive things about Hyundai from others, we are extremely disappointed. We would never consider getting another Hyundai again. More
