January 2014: My wife and I visited the Sherwood Park Hyundai dealership, hoping to take a look at a selection of pre-owned Santa Fe's. We were introduced to Savin Kim who immediately asked us what we we Hyundai dealership, hoping to take a look at a selection of pre-owned Santa Fe's. We were introduced to Savin Kim who immediately asked us what we were looking for and how much we wanted to spend. Our response was that we wanted a pre-owned Santa Fe, and that our budget (all in - taxes, and fees) was $18,000. He proceeded to show us a beautiful 2010 Santa Fe AWD Sport, though refused to tell us how much it was. We test drove it, asking repeatedly how much the vehicle would cost...Savin's response was always, "We can work it out". We returned to the sales office and Savin finally revealed how much the dealership was asking for the vehicle: $22,900 plus taxes and fees. Our response to this was simply that we were not here to negotiate, and would only pay $18,000 all in, or he could show us another vehicle. After hours of waiting while he went back and forth with the manager, his supervisor came in to talk with us. We went back and forth, not budging from our initial budget. They kept showing us how the payments fell within our monthly budget, but that was completely separate from the overall cost. Finally, the manager (Nate) literally threw his pen across the desk at us and said, "Fine, I'm not going to lose your business over this" and agreed to $18,500. When we asked if that was taxes and fees in, he rolled his eyes and said that it absolutely did not. Although we were astounded by the rudeness of the manager, we loved the car and put a deposit down to hold it for a day (which we were assured was refundable). After thinking through our experience with the rude and unprofessional staff, and our desire to remain within our original budget, we returned the next day to pass on the vehicle and collect our deposit. A second manager who "can do things others can't do" took us into an office. He (Josh) was friendly and helpful, and eventually (after hours) dropped the price to $18,300 taxes and fees in. This was a deal that we could agree to and signed the bill of sale. We returned the following day to pick up the vehicle and sign financing papers, which we were told would only take a few minutes, and spent the next two hours waiting around until the finance office finally saw us. None of the information that Josh gave us was recorded and Ashley said that what we were saying didn't make sense. We had to insist that she go talk to him about the price and warranty coverage that Josh promised us, which she eventually did and found out we weren't lying. We declined the warranty and protection packages, which led to another woman coming into the office to talk to us. We had to tell her (can't remember her name) repeatedly that we didn't want the warranties, which she said was "weird". We indicated that this offended us and she made no effort to apologize. To top it all off, when she found out where my wife works, she took up 10 minutes of our time telling us how awful my wife's company is. We were so stunned, we had no reply. FINALLY, after hours of waiting, we received the keys to our car. In all those hours, they didn't replace the broken windshield and did a poor job cleaning the car. We will not be back to this dealership. We will never recommend this dealership to friends. I will remove the license plate cover that advertises their name as I do not want to be a rolling billboard for such a rude, unprofessional dealer. More
This was the worst experience I have ever had anywhere, hands down. The quoted price changed when we were ready to sign the papers. They also insisted we wanted a 2013 SantaFe after we test drove a 2014. U hands down. The quoted price changed when we were ready to sign the papers. They also insisted we wanted a 2013 SantaFe after we test drove a 2014. Um what? We had put down a deposit so they would bring in a vehicle for us to look at. We then asked for a refund because another dealer offered a better price, not to mention a decent service experience. They refused to refund us after saying we could have a refund if we asked. So we then had to dispute the.charge with our credit.card company. Do NOT GO anywhere near this place. They are a bunch of crooks and.they know it. More
Since I purchased my new Hyundai Accent 5 door fully equipped 4 cylinder model in Dec. 2012 I am using too much fuel. The flyer states a combined fuel usage of 6.1. I drive mostly highway ( 90%) and hav equipped 4 cylinder model in Dec. 2012 I am using too much fuel. The flyer states a combined fuel usage of 6.1. I drive mostly highway ( 90%) and have proven to Sherwood Park Hyundai that I barely get 14.6 Ltr per 100 Km. Are they doing anything about it, nope, and yet I've kept records showing them and Hyundai Canada that in fact that is the consumption rate. What a lemon and their attitude is " We didn't build the car, we just sell them " . Last fill-up cost me $37.00 and I traveled a whooping 347.7 Km, go figure huh. More
On 27 Dec, I visited Sherwood Park Hyundai to have service completed on my 2012 Hyundai SantaFe. I had purchased my SantaFe from another dealership located in Edmonton. As I relocated since purchase I service completed on my 2012 Hyundai SantaFe. I had purchased my SantaFe from another dealership located in Edmonton. As I relocated since purchase I needed a new dealership to complete the warranty work. When I arrived on the 27th to pick up my vehicle, I was told that my keys were with the sales rep (Savin Kim) and that I would have to retrieve them from him. After having to sit down with the sales rep, Savin proceeded to sell me a 2013 Hyundai SantaFe. As a current owner of a previous generation SantaFe, I was curious about the differences in the vehicles. We talked about the purchase of a new vehicle and what the pricing would be. Savin and Terry used extremely shady and misleading sales tactics to present the car cost in terms of monthly payments. Despite my repeated requests to show me the actual numbers for the purchase price. At this point I had already spent 2 additional hours on the sales floor when I only wanted to pick up my car from service. I still did not have any hard numbers of the price of the car they were trying to sell me. After pushing back against the deal and the fact that they wouldn't show me any actual numbers or a price on a 2014 model year, we agreed, in writing on the paper they used to draft the payment amounts, that I would have 48 hours to check out the vehicle and decide if I wanted to buy. They then asked me for a deposit to test drive the vehicle over night, after initially refusing numerous times and eventually, after explicitly confirming with Savin that the deposit was for indeed for the test drive of the car, would be refundable after, and was NOT for the purchase of the vehicle; I left one. I then had to deal with the finance department before being able to leave with the vehicle. It was at this point they presented the sales contract with the actual numbers of the sale. I refused to sign initially, as If I was going to buy anything, I was more interested in pricing on a 2014 and not a 2013. Again, I only wanted to see the numbers and check out the vehicle. Ashley proceeded to tell me that this was all a formality and mislead me into signing the paperwork to leave with the vehicle to test drive. I should have left well before this point, but being tired and misled by the staff I simply wanted to leave the dealership. After this was done, I was able to leave the dealership in a 2013 Santa Fe Sport over night. It was also at this time I had seen the actual sales price of the vehicle for the first time. I checked out the car over night and although it was nice and a definite change from my 2012 model year, I decided I preferred the features present in my current car over the new model year. Not to mention the outrageous price they wanted for the 2013 that didn't make any financial sense whatsoever, and also did not align with the payment amount they previously said it would be, I proceeded to bring the test drive vehicle back to the dealership and have my deposit refunded. I had already wasted so much time here, just trying to find out more about the new models and if they would be a good fit. Even though I had no intentions whatsoever to initially purchase a vehicle and was only in sales because my keys were still being held by them. Needless to say once returning the vehicle, they refused to return my deposit. Terry Diachuk then proceeded to get aggressive and attempt to save the deal that I had initially ensured had 48 hours to test drive the vehicle. I refused and simply wanted my keys and my deposit back. They refused, stating that Josh Dally was the only one authorized to return my deposit and I would have to visit him again the next day. As I was already out a tremendous amount of time on this already, I refused. I advised them that without returning the deposit I left to test drive the vehicle, I would be unable to return the keys for the vehicle I test drove. I advised Terry that once my deposit was returned, the keys would promptly be returned. Seeming I had already paid for them with my deposit, and their refusal to return my deposit; I needed leverage and proof that I had indeed left the deposit to test drive said vehicle. Savin then promptly returned the keys to my vehicle. I was then threatened numerous times by the staff in the dealership and by Savin and Terry that they would be calling the RCMP and charging me with theft. It was at this time I proceeded to walk out of the dealership. As I was the only customer on the sales floor at the time, they proceeded to shout vulgarities at me as I left. Including F you numerous times, which can be heard on the audio recordings I have of the encounters. On 31 Dec, Josh Dally called and left a message asking for a return call. I tried to contact him less than an hour after he initially called and was told he was busy and would return my call. I am still yet to receive a phone call back or my deposit released. Although, Josh being the Sales Director, surely the outrageous sales tactics they use to sell cars are a direct result of Josh's direction and leadership. On 08 Jan Josh called and asked how he could return my payment; he still has yet to actually do so. Please, I beg of you, DO NOT USE OR VISIT SHERWOOD PARK HYUNDAI. Stay away, go anywhere else. Read all the other reviews for more context. The only way to ensure they don't mislead anyone else, is to avoid them completely and let them close. I recommend West End Hyundai, although they have their share of issues according to public reviews, they have always treated me and my family fairly and with respect at all times. Hyundai makes good vehicles and Sherwood Park Hyundai is not worthy of using the Hyundai brand name in anyway shape or form; which I intend to notify Hyundai of via a separate letter. SHERWOOD PARK HYUNDAI ARE CROOKS. Plain and simple. Get a fair deal somewhere else and don't allow Sherwood Park Hyundai to mislead you away from or into buying a Hyundai for more than you should. Started having issues on Saturday, December 14th with my brand new 2013 Hyundai Tucson, bought from this dealership on July 6th 2013. It would not start with the turn of the key only roll over. This occur brand new 2013 Hyundai Tucson, bought from this dealership on July 6th 2013. It would not start with the turn of the key only roll over. This occurred 3 times before she would finally start. You could smell gas so she was flooding herself out. This occurred at our next stop. (my son was with me to do his Xmas shopping). I got home and told my husband who went out and it did the same thing with him. You had to roll it over, turn it off at least 3 times before she would finally start. This is Tuesday, December 17th and it is still doing the same thing. Every time I go to start it I never know if this is going to be the time it won't start. It takes at least 3 attempts before she'll finally start and this is every time I go to start it. GREAT BRAND NEW HYUNDAI VEHICLE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD AND WON'T START ON THE FIRST TRY. Called the service centre at approximately 1:15 pm and spoke with Kirsten who told me they do not do that type of work on Saturday and they close at 5:30 pm throught the week. I work Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm and cannot afford to take time off to drive out there. Apparently they do not have a courtesy vehicle. I guess I'm expected to eat the loss of income to take time off work to get them to look at the brand new vehicle they sold me. I was told to get a rental but neither the dealership or Hyundai Canada was willing to pay for it. Kirsten was supposed to speak with Jason yesterday and give me a call to let me know if they could look at the thing this Saturday but I have yet to receive a call. I was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with 212,000 km on it and never had an issue. On the coldest day she was never plugged in. Further more I purchased a Toyota RAV4 that was not new but still under warranty when the water pump and timing chain went. I took it to Clark's Toyota back on PEI where I had purchase it from. It was going to take a couple of days but they had no more courtesy cars (YES THAT SMALL DEALERSHIP HAD 2 COURTESY CARS) THE OWNER GAVE ME HIS PERSONAL VEHICLE TO DRIVE stating the customer should not be inconvenienced. Some difference from what I've been told out here. Stay away from this dealership, especially the sales department. I WISH I HAD OF KNOWN ABOUT THIS DEALER RATINGS BEFORE I WENT TO THIS DEALERSHIP AS I DEFINATELY WOULD NOT HAVE GONE HERE AFTER SEEING THE MAJORITY OF THE RATINGS. The wait for a call back I do not believe is due to Kirsten, she was going to ask Jason if the thing could be looked at this Saturday, and I know Josh does not appreciate my reviews, I guess the truth hurts. Kirsten and Ashley have been nothing but friendly, helpful and as accomodating as they can be. Josh has told me straight out not to come back. They sold me the thing and now want nothing to do with the useless piece of tin they sold me. I'm more than welcome at the service department but definately not at sales. Jason, Sales Manager has arranged for me to go in Saturday morning Dec 21 which to me goes above and beyond. The sales department at this dealership has been nothing but accommodating however the SALES DEPARTMENT is just the opposite. Once they have your signature they wipe their hands of you. Promises made are totally denied and they literally attack you when you ask about what was promised during the sales experience. Josh Daly called me at work and told me never to come back. HOW IS THAT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. They did not like my reviews, which were nothing but the truth. I GUESS THE TRUTH HURTS!!! More
Highly recommend NOT using this dealership. Hidden fees, dishonest about vehicle details, lied about reimbursement, called me to book an appointment and then sent me home as they could not complete appointm dishonest about vehicle details, lied about reimbursement, called me to book an appointment and then sent me home as they could not complete appointment (no reimbursement or complimentary vehicle supplied to me) , friendly and helpful until you sign bill of sale then you are not needed anymore, waited 45 mins after signing bill of sale to finally receive vehicle paper work, waited another 30 mins to speak with financing (who had no one in the office with them), Etc More
I do not recommend this dealership. I was very disappointed with the quality of services I received, as well as with the amount of money I paid for these services. Will never come back. We were downsizing our full sized SUV for something a little bit smaller. We ended up deciding on a Santa Fe XL Limited edition. The entire experience was amazing! Living in Edmonton, we were particul little bit smaller. We ended up deciding on a Santa Fe XL Limited edition. The entire experience was amazing! Living in Edmonton, we were particularly interested in the safety features in the vehicle (for winter conditions and icy roads). A lot of time was spent explaining the systems & features and answering all of our questions before we went ahead. The entire experience was simple and straight forward. Our vehicle was delivered quickly and I couldn't be happier with it. Not only was our experience with the dealership wonderful, I absolutely love my Santa Fe and it handles beautifully in the ice and snow (so much better than our full sized SUV did)! Thanks so much to the team at Sherwood Park Hyundai! More
We purchased a 2013 Santa Fe from SPH in Jan and it has been a gong show! We have a lemon and they can't find a fix for the issues. It was bad enough that the detail dept kept messing up the 3M and diamond been a gong show! We have a lemon and they can't find a fix for the issues. It was bad enough that the detail dept kept messing up the 3M and diamond shield and we kept having to go back. The damaged the windshield by having to remove & reapply the diamond shield so many times. The replaced the windshield but my car came back with some nasty scratches on the hood. They took care of that too and even had their lot attendant drive it out to me.Problem is the transmission went on the way out and he didn't notice (4,800 km) and when I drove it into town, I got stranded. Oh, did I mention the steering is so bad you have to fight to keep this thing between the lines! Very dangerous on the hwy! Then there is the check engine light and check gas cap light that keep coming on, the car stalls and shudders. The steering problem is dangerous. Stay well clear of this dealership,If you decide to go there to buy, get everything in writing and have it witnessed.Better yet tape it all,They do NOT keep their word. They prefer to line their own pockets than keep a repeat customer happy. Do yourself a favor and go to Leduc Hyundai where they use honesty and integrity.Craig Sabourin is a shifty crook and was selling/dealing with sales with an expired sales license. Not enough room here to get into details. BTW, a review posted on google reviews awhile back by Dalton Bullock....guess what! He works at SPH (lot attendant)and the Owners name is Bob Bullock. They have to get family to put up good reviews because no one who has dealt with them will! Go to their website and check staff** To the person who gave a 10000$ deposit they refuse to return, call AMVIC! All of the *good* staff have left for greener pastures and SPH is just another low life scam dealership. Folks, do you know about AMVIC?Or CAMVAP? AMVIC handles complaints about dealerships and sales people and shifty dealings. CAMVAP deals with lemons and works with the consumer and the manufacturer to try to help resolve issues. More
