Turns out they were having a special event for past customers and although we did not fit into this category, their newest salesman, John Forbes, welcomed us in and made us feel right at home. John explained all of the information, answered all of our questions and took us for test drive. He also brought another colleague out (I believe it was Scott Melquist) and had him look at our vehicle to discuss details related to the lease that was ending soon, which was appreciated and very helpful. Our interaction with John from beginning to end, both during our visit and on the follow up phone call, was a very positive one. My husband works in sales so he knows that you need to be energetic and assertive without being pushy and aggressive and John definitely knows this too. He was very personable and professional and he provided us with the information we needed and was able to answer all of our questions. My husband even told him that he'd hire him if he needed someone. Although we were not making a decision that day and a few days later made a decision to go with a different vehicle from another dealership (not a crossover), we would not hesitate to recommend River City Ford to our friends and family and would make sure to tell them to ask for John!
