Buyer Beware! I Bought a brand new 2015 F150 Platinum and they never disclosed the luxury tax verbally or on my purchase agreement even after going over it with me I Bought a brand new 2015 F150 Platinum and they never disclosed the luxury tax verbally or on my purchase agreement even after going over it with me twice. The contract read 7% PST but they actually charged me 10%. I understand that luxury tax is mandatory and regulated by the government, but if they're gonna charge 10% PST then it needs to read 10% in the contract NOT 7%. I fought them on this and they eventually refunded me my money for the luxury tax but not until after a lengthy ordeal which involved me talking to a lawyer. The sales manager did not agree it was deceptive so I did t get anywhere with him. He had to involve his sales director to get it resolved. On top of that when I took delivery of the truck there was over 130km that were unexplained. Someone was driving my truck after I bought it. The dealership had my truck for over a week before I could take possession because I was fighting them over the undisclosed luxury tax. During this time I believe they were showing it to other potential buyers because they thought we might unwind the deal because of the luxury tax issue. Either that or the salespeople were taking it for spins to try it out as it was the only Platinum on there lot. They denied any of this and tried telling me that triple digit kilometres on a new vehicle was "normal". I literally bought the truck just after it arrived on the transport truck. It wasn't even PDI'd yet. I was the first person to test drive it before I bought it and insured it in my name. No one else should've driven it after me. There's no excuse for that many kilometres on a new vehicle that hasn't been test driven. If the truck had been on the lot for several weeks and test driven numerous times then yes, I agree higher kilometres would be understandable. But NOT if the truck was only test driven once by myself. Then the Sales Director tried telling me that after it leaves the assembly line it gets test driven. Ford does not test drive vehicles after they leave the assembly line. Everything is tested before it goes into production. If they chose to spot test my truck it would be on a Dyno before it leaves the assembly line and definitely not for 6 hours. 10-15 minutes tops unless there was something malfunctioning with the vehicle. Sometimes they'll randomly pull a vehicle to test fuel consumption and may ride it on the Dyno but they'll put a sticker on the windshield denoting the truck was spot tested so the dealership can pass it on to the purchaser. There was no such sticker on my truck. And they're not driven anywhere in transport. They leave on rail straight from the Dearborn plant and are shipped with a limited amount of fuel as per transport regulations, so would not have 6 hours worth of fuel to be driving around. They have just enough fuel to get it from the rail car to a transport truck. That's all the driving the vehicle would do during transport. All that combined would be less than five kilometres. I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people who've purchased brand new vehicles and everyone said they never had triple digit kilometres. Most were less than 30. My last brand new truck had 8KM. I spent all weekend reading blogs and scouring the Internet for information on kilometres for brand new vehicles. I couldn't find anywhere where that says triple digit kilometres on a brand new truck is normal. Only time you'll see that is if it was test driven multiple times. I was the only one to test drive my truck. I went to two other Ford dealerships over the weekend and inquired about the shipping process and kilometres on new trucks. They said there's no way no one else drove that truck and there's no way it should have that many kilometres if I was the only person to test drive it. Worst experience ever at a car dealership. I had my truck serviced here for six years when it was the old Dams Ford Lincoln and the service team was great. After Mainland Ford took over the sales side has obviously taken a turn for the worse. My advice: buy elsewhere! More

Would give them all zeros if i could I am writing this email to you to tell you about an experience I had with the Mainland Ford dealership in Surrey, B.C. To start, I have a vehicle I am writing this email to you to tell you about an experience I had with the Mainland Ford dealership in Surrey, B.C. To start, I have a vehicle for sale on Vancouver craigslist. I have chosen the option whilst posting my advert where it clearly states on the ad itself “do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers.” Personally, I would not mind if dealerships contact me offering their services to trade my vehicle with a new one from their dealership. On this occasion, Simon Wu contacted me through email with the following message: Hi, My name is Simon Wu, product specialist from mainland Ford Surrey. I am pleased to assist you to get out of your current vehicle and get a decent car for replacement. Please call me. I simply replied to the email with two words…“Not interested.” For some strange reason Simon took this as an invitation to email me an advert for a 2007 Honda CRV. I replied to Simon with this: First of all, did I not just reply to your earlier email expressing that I'm not interested... And second of all, you must be really bad at your job if you think I'm gonna go from a BMW like mine to a crv. Please do not contact me henceforth. In plain English I stated to Simon again that nor am I interested in his services, I do not want to be contacted again. To my surprise, Simon again replies with: Why not? CRV is a good car. I just trust what my customer telling me!! At this point I felt like Simon was harassing me, I felt like he did not understand that there are boundaries when dealing with customers/people. I told him twice in plain English that I am not interested and I do not want him to contact me. Following this, I decided to call Mainland Ford to discuss Simon’s behaviour with the Sales Manager. I asked the receptionist for a Sales Manager, I was transferred to an individual who did not tell me his name and told me, “I’m kinda the manager.” I questioned him as to if he is “kinda” the manager or is the manager. He replied by saying “I do all sorts of things so yeah I am.” I told him about the situation and how I felt harassed, and the fact that I told Simon twice that I did not want him to contact me. The so-called “manager” said, “well, are you planning on buying anything?” to this I replied “no” (even if I was in the market of buying another car that is not the point, the point is I do not appreciate someone hawking their inventory at me after I told them not to.) Then the “manager” asks again whether I am purchasing another vehicle. Again, I told him no, and I asked him what he is planning on doing about this situation. The “manager” says “well, what do you want me to do …I’ll tell him to stop.” At this point I was so irate I hung up the phone. Is this what Ford has become? Harassing people who are selling their cars on craigslist to make their sales? Is this how Ford or Mainland trains their Salespeople to get sales? I have personally been in sales for over 10 years. I know that this is not acceptable to keep harassing a customer (BUT I am not even a customer) to get them to purchase a car from them. What is it that makes Simon qualified to tell me that I should like a gold Honda CRV. Who is he to question why I do not want a CRV? Is he my close personal friend? No! I am very upset and very angry at the fact this Ford employee has harassed me. And to compound the frustration I try to talk to a manager and I get a “kinda manager” who continues to sell me a vehicle by constantly asking me “are you buying another car?” I definitely at that point do not want a Ford nor do I want a gold CRV. Just people his other customers like gold CRVs does not mean it is a vehicle that I would like. I also want to point out that this is not the first time a Ford dealership has contacted me; 2 Ford dealerships (Mainland Ford and Key-West Ford) have contacted me without my consent to “help me sell my car.” The first time I went to Key-West Ford I felt insulted when your salesman offered me $1000 for a truck that I have up for sale for $12000. I feel overall disgust towards Ford and their dealership’s practices. If this is happened to me twice, I wonder how many other people your salespeople have contacted through craigslist and harassed. To add, no other dealership has contacted me like Ford has. More
