Poor Workmanship, Poor Customer Service I am very disappointed with the workmanship and customer service I received at this dealership. I took my Pontiac Vibe to John Bear GM in Hamilton, I am very disappointed with the workmanship and customer service I received at this dealership. I took my Pontiac Vibe to John Bear GM in Hamilton, Ontario just over two weeks ago for repairs needed due to a recall on the passenger airbag. Normally I do not go to the dealer as most service is done at home, but in this case the repairs were being done free of charge due to the recall. This recall was the second airbag recall for Vibe models, the previous being for the steering wheel airbag. During the previous recall, my vehicle had also been taken to John Bear for the repairs. When I received the vehicle after those repairs, the steering wheel had been reinstalled out of alignment. While disappointed with the poor workmanship, I determined that the crooked steering wheel was not a safety concern, and decided to address the issue with John Bear the next time I went in. Making the appointment for the second airbag recall, I brought up the fact that the dealer had reinstalled the steering wheel incorrectly during the last recall, and I would like for them to correct it in addition to the current recall repairs. I was told over the phone that the correction would most likely be free of charge as the error had been made on their end, but the service desk would need to confirm it upon my arrival. When I brought the vehicle in, I reminded the service advisor that I wanted the misaligned steering wheel addressed as well as the current repairs, and was told that they could perform an alignment check, but any actual repairs to the steering wheel would cost $110. I said that that was disappointing considering the error had been made by the dealer in the first place, and the response from the advisor was "that's okay, just don't do the repairs then." When I pressed the issue, I spoke with three different associates, the last of which being someone from the garage. He told me that it was impossible for the dealer to have made the alignment error due to the nature of the repairs. When I told him that the steering wheel had been perfectly aligned when I had brought the car in, and then crooked when I received it, he told me that I had waited too long to address the issue. A response claiming that I had waited too long to address the issue seemed a bit contradictory to one denying responsibility for the issue. I expressed my disappointment again, and was offered the repairs to the steering wheel at half the regular price. I declined the offer since I was not willing to pay to have an error corrected that was made by the dealer in the first place. I felt unappreciated as a customer, and left the dealership frustrated and unhappy with the service I had received, not to mention the steering wheel is still crooked. More
Continued disappointment Dealership threw out the wrong set of tires during seasonal tire change, then made me buy new tires and proceeded to tell me it was my fault. When checking their system they had record of me having 4 summer tires during the winter change and then this summer when I came back they said I only have 2 summer tires. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a new key from them and the buttons are wearing on my current key. It has been several weeks and when calling to ask about the status of the key they said it was never ordered and to check at another dealership who has some in stock. Finally, the woman who makes appointment books be earlier then the garage opens and I sit in the waiting room for half an hour before the mechanics even get to the shop. I would not recommend as every time I go there I am upset, frustrated, and disappointed. More

Repairs to a nagging rattling problem First time customer. After several tries at another location to repair a rattle problem I tried John Bear. Right from the start Sean, the service manager took a deep interest in solving the problem. Went on a test drive with him and Allan, the service technician and within two minutes they both diagnosed the problem. Car repaired within the hour. Running smoothly for the first time in a year and a half. I was impressed with the knowledge, care , courtesy, friendliness and efficiency with all staff but especially Sean and Allan. With my experience today I would certainly go again and would recommend John Bear to others. More

They gave me a service schedule that was completely different then GM Canada's service schedule in the cars manual. It is a complete bull, and I feel bad for anyone they are tricking into following their inflated service programs. I now service my vehicle elsewhere, trust me people look in your cars manual to determine necessary warranty service work, these people are liars!!!!!!!!!! More

Stressful unsafe terrible..Steer clear I brought my car in because it was staggering when I placed my foot on the gas.After four days I received a call stating diagnostic and repairs were c I brought my car in because it was staggering when I placed my foot on the gas.After four days I received a call stating diagnostic and repairs were complete.They choose to change all warranty parts bill me 2917000.Upon driving the car right after pick up realised the existing problem of car staggering still exist. Car was towed back to dealership .I received 3 more diagnostic over 3 days one for 450.00 then they tried to haggle with me for 250.00 as a offer then when I asked further questions I was told that the real problem was later found which would cost 1200 plus tax. I ask for a meeting with service manager who tried to sell me the story of all the repairs while existing condition still has not been diagnose. Inappropriate actions by service manager threw my invoice back at me with a bunch of insults hurdles at me.Anger towards me at not choosing to get the vehicle fit for the further 1200,threatened to be charged for having the car for being on the lot.Service manager close the door in my face.while hurling insults.
