I negotiated the terms of the return of my 2017 Tacoma and the terms of my new 2021 Tacoma with this dealership. When I went to pick up my 2021 model, it was brought to my attention that there was some da and the terms of my new 2021 Tacoma with this dealership. When I went to pick up my 2021 model, it was brought to my attention that there was some damage done to the box of the truck either in delivery or while at the dealership, they weren’t sure. The damage consisted of two cracks on the top of the wheel wells in the box of the truck.This revelation was only brought to my attention after I had agreed to the new terms of my lease and all the paperwork was signed. This Tacoma is the fifth one I have leased with Toyota and the third one through this dealership. I love these trucks. However, for the first time picking up a hew truck, they had the truck waiting in the pick up bay shrouded in a car cover. Once all the paperwork was done the truck was revealed to me and the sales manager was quick to point out the damage to the box of the truck and assured me that if there was anything he could do, to let him know. He was very insistent and repeated himself three or four times. I took his word and excited to drive my new truck, said I would let them know. Later that week I stopped by an auto body shop to have the damage evaluated and was informed that they would recommend having the whole box of the truck replaced. This seemed a little extreme to me but I shared this information with the sales person I dealt with and said, instead of total replacement I would be fine with a cover for the box of the truck. I made a verbal agreement with the sales person that I would get a three piece box cover for the truck and awaited its arrival. Well, it hasn’t been quite a year but it’s getting close and still nothing. No outgoing communication from the sales person or the dealership. I have been more than patient and have dropped by the dealership on three separate occasions and each time nobody seems to know about the box cover. Furthermore, I never was sent a survey by the dealership regarding my sale experience as they have on my four other leases. I am completely frustrated and feel that this dealership could benefit in some after sales support training As someone who is in professional sales I live by the mantra, “do what you say you’re going to do for your customer”.
