I made an appointment waited over an hour for them to tell me they can't repair it and they don't have the tire in stock. Wouldn't get it until late that day or next day. I had to demand a rental car since I was going out of town and couldn't drive on spare. No one offered it to me even though I have an extended warranty and it is covered. Ended up paying for insurance for rental out of my pocket. Service department way too busy. Not impressed. More

I was looking for a Prius C and posted an ad on local website. A salesman from DVNT Don Valley North Toyota called me in to have a look at a vehicle. I went the dealer at around 9:45am and had it look at the vehicle. It was a MY2013 with 40K km. We discussed the price and found that it was just under $1900 below the price of a brand new Prius C. The salesman asked me to present an offer in writing, which I did. He then took my credit card, which he said was standard practice for presenting an offer. He returned to say that the sales manager still requesting the original price for the vehicle. I asked for my credit card back as I felt that it was not a good deal for me. Long story short, they did not return my credit card and tried to force me into a deal. After trying to get my card back four times, I had to leave the dealership at around 11:25am without my credit card (it was a work day, Monday morning). The salesman eventually managed to get my credit card back in the afternoon. He was very apologetic for this entire ordeal (he was an innocent bystander) and he personally delivered my credit card to my house the next afternoon. More

First-Time Buyer Nightmare While Pregnant I would like to start by saying how deeply I've been affected by this horrendous experience. I was referred to Don Valley North Toyota by a family fri I would like to start by saying how deeply I've been affected by this horrendous experience. I was referred to Don Valley North Toyota by a family friend who has purchased a vehicle there in the past. With high hopes and expectations I walked into the dealership thinking I would be taken care of. Little did I know the experience would leave me in this traumatized state. We met a guy named Howie Lowe who made himself out to be very honest and experienced. He told me he was in the business for over 50 years and assured me that I would walk out a happy customer, but that was not the case. I was nine months pregnant at the time and my sister and husband came with me on day of purchase to help me choose a car. We sat down with him for 4 hours negotiating on the Sienna 2015 Fully Loaded Limited All Wheel Drive Model. He ended up selling it to us for the price of 52,500. So the total value of the car was 55,000 before taxes. I described all the features and packages that I wanted in the car such as the double Panoramic Sunroof, Navigation package and DVD player for the kids. From the moment I stepped into his office until the moment I left he knew exactly which model he was selling to me. After the credit approval, they were putting a significant amount of effort trying to sell me the extended warranty. It was thrown into the deal for 2500 with the impression that it would be worth a lot if you ever trade or sell your vehicle. On the day of pick up my sister couldn't make it to the dealership due to radiation from her thyroid cancer. She was sick and just finished getting treatment from the hospital. Me and my husband were left to go pickup the car. He started the day off by ringing my phone off the hook to get my vehicle identification number to my insurance guy and that he wanted everything done today. He then called me again to rush me to get the policy number because he needed it to be able to send the car out. My insurance guy then tells me that he quote said, "Why don't you just give her a temporary (fake) policy number so she can pick up the car today?" From that moment on, I had a very bad feeling about this car salesman. Howie then calls me again and screams at me over the phone telling me to hurry up and that he has to take the bus to the casino with his wife. Feeling extremely stressed out with anxiety I rush to the bank to get him a direct deposit form and drive as fast as I can to the dealership. He was extremely rude and unprofessional with the way he dealt with me on the day of pick up. When I got there he didn't even have the decency to show me the car, but all he cared about was getting me to sign my life away. After signing the papers he quickly gives me the key, we go outside and he leaves the parking lot. As me and my husband are taking a look at the inside of the vehicle my gut instinct tells me that this is not the car. There was no DVD player or panoramic sunroof like he promised. I tell my husband to check the model of the car and surely enough it was not a Limited model that we had asked for. It was an XLE model. My husband then calls him and he acts as if its a dealership error and that we shouldn't be worried. He assured us that if we bring it back tomorrow morning this issue would be resolved. The next morning at 9am he calls me and firmly tells me that the vehicle I signed for is the one that we ordered. My heart completely sinks because right then and there I knew he had tried to pull a fast one. He had tried to sell me a lower model of the car that I wanted. I furiously told him that I am not going to let him get away with this and that I am speaking to his superior and that he would surely lose his job. He rudely tells me sure go ahead I'll be here all day. I was not going to let a xxxxxxx car salesmen get away with this type of violation. Shortly all three of us head to the dealership and go straight to the managers office. They sent in there sales manager Steven Farra. After spending all morning explaining to him the whole story he was going on like it was an honest error and that he agreed with us. Meanwhile, on my bill of sales it clearly states that I had purchased the LIMITTED 2015 Sienna. He couldn't argue with us because he knew that Howie tried to sell us a lower model. He even said that he knows what a smooth talker Howie is that he would be terminated from the whole deal due to misconduct. All Steven did was continuously try and talk us into buying it for a different price because he said they couldn't take a loss on their ends. I was disgusted at that point because we should've got the car we wanted for the price that we had signed for. Instead he would not give us the car unless we paid more. He quoted that it was outrageous and that they would lose too much money. In my eyes they have to take a loss for such a horrible first time buyer experience. The worst part is I was giving birth in 2 days at 9 months pregnant. I was so frustrated and tired that I told my husband to rip up the contract because I didn't even want it anymore. Left stranded with no car, pregnant, a 3 year old and distraught.. we had to figure out what we would do at this point and how we would get home. The manager followed us to the lunchroom and sweet talked us into buying the car while we waited for a friend to pick us up. He convinced us that this was the best price we would get for this model and that he really wanted us to walk out with something. Feeling vulnerable and tired, we settled for the car but still at the price we did not want. While waiting for another approval he repeatedly begs me not to "write them up". He said that if I wrote them up I would completely "tarnish" their dealership and that it affects everyone in it. I was disgusted, they were completely selfish, dishonest and unprofessional. All they wanted to do was sell us a car, make their commission and earn a good rating that they would never get credit for. This is why I give them -0 stars. I want everyone to know how terrible the service is at Don Valley North Toyota and I would never recommend this dealership to anyone I know. I'm worried about people going through the same thing that I went through. As for Howie Lowe, he should be permanently terminated from this dealership because he has absolutely no integrity and morals. I never thought I would go through this type of ordeal while being pregnant. Howie Lowe was like a bad car salesman out of a movie, that you just can't trust because he would stoop to any level just to sell you a car. Dalena Nguyen Purchased April 25 2015 More

We visited another dealer who did not have a demo car for us to drive and constantly pressured us to buy immediately. We called DVN Toyota at 8:15pm on July 30. Jeanete Maalouf (salesperson) told us they had a demo and she stayed past their closing at 9 to let us take a test drive. We came back the next day and made a deal at a good price. Both Jeanete and Vanessa Wang (sales manager) were a pleasure to deal with and we were more than satisfied with the price. There was no pressure to buy a fancier model than we needed. The said we might be waiting 8 weeks for the car, but we were able to pick it up exactly three weeks later on August 21. More
