I recently looked into trading in my Rondo for a new 2014 Kia Sorento, and emailed the dealership or 'submitted a request for more info' on a particul I recently looked into trading in my Rondo for a new 2014 Kia Sorento, and emailed the dealership or 'submitted a request for more info' on a particular one they had on the lot. This was on this past Saturday night, and by Sunday, the next day I had been contacted by Georgetown Kia about the vehicle in question, and had a call/message from Mike Rebelo saying that he would be more than happy to look into what kind of a deal I could get for the new Sorento, and that he would get me the best possible trade in value for my used Rondo. Together with Nick Chopra, the two of them got down to business, and with a little info (they had me on file from the Rondo purchase) they had gotten back to me with a potential deal within a day, and were determined to work something out for me. On the Monday I met with Mike Rebelo for a quick test drive, and to sit down and work out the basics on what I was looking for, my goals as far as interest rate for the loan (my previous loan was a not so great interest rate as I am in the long process of rebuilding my credit, my own doing as I'm sure many others here have experienced and why they go to these guys for help, as I have three times now) and within an hour, we had a solid game plan in place, and Mike and Nick went to bat for me with the banks for a deal that would work. On Tuesday I had not heard much besides one phone call early in the day discussing various details for the loan, banks proposals for interest rates etc, down payment things etc, and then I didn't hear much the rest of the day, but Mike and Nick were hard at work hammering out a deal with the bank for me. At 10pm I got a call from Mike (it's ok, I'm a night owl lol!!!) with great news, we had a deal, the interest rate for me was cut better than in half from what I had been paying before, and not only was I going to get the exact vehicle I wanted, I got one better, a move up in class and features, with a great warranty and piece of mind coverage. I must mention that Mike was to get up very early the next day to fly out for a week's vacation in a place much warmer than this. That's right, the guy is working right through to the literal last second to get me a deal, and doesn't rest till it's done, that's dedication, and commitment to customer satisfaction if I've ever seen it (never anywhere else but Georgetown Kia and with these guys!). Wednesday with Mike gone on a well deserved vacation, Nick (who was working on the deal with Mike all along) took over seamlessly and got the loan all set up, the vehicle ready for delivery, and took care of the delivery personally (which he doesn't do as much any longer as he is a manager of the guys that usually do this sort of thing) with my wife and myself on Wednesday, the next day. Now someone with good credit would expect this to be the case, such a result so quickly, but for someone like myself where the financial side of things isn't so cut and dry and easy to pull off, it's quite amazing that these guys can get you such a good deal, so quickly like they do. Not only that, but do it with a smile, with pleasure and a great personal touch. I really must say, Mike (whom I dealt with the most before the delivery day with Nick) was simply kick a** and didn't rest until he knew the deal would be a go, my goals and needs were met, and not only got the job done perfectly, but was a pleasure to deal with in every way possible. A shoutout to Brian as well, who jumped right in and kept me taken care of when I was waiting for Mike at our appointment, got the test drive vehicle ready etc, this truly is a team that works together to get the job done which ever way is needed. I would definitely recommend Georgetown Kia to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle, whether your budget is high or low, good credit or bad, these guys get it done, and are not only efficient, but good people to deal with on a personal level too. I've dealt with Nick on 3 vehicles now, Mike with this most recent one, my wife with her new Soul just over a year ago, and I would again if I had to (maybe in 10 years or so guys, when my warranty is up, and I'm looking at the new 2024 models lol!). I tell everyone that asks 'where'd you get your car from?' that they should take the drive to Georgetown, because if you want to avoid the 'sharks' you get at dealers within the GTA, and want a dedicated team that will get you a deal pretty much no matter what your circumstances, Georgetown Kia is the place to go, hands down. Overall Experience at Georgetown Kia I recently purchased a used vehicle at this dealership. Service, explanations, my two visits (test drive and picking up the car) whent well. George is a hard worker and knows his business. Competence and relationship is a top priority and without mentioning it you can tell after short time talking to him. Mike is also very dedicated and the two of them make a great team and also makes the delership look professional and wanting to by more than just one car. I once sold cars too so I know the business and I would recommend them and this dealership to anyone I know without a moment of hesitation. We purchased our 2012 Kia Sorento in August 2012 from Georgetown Kia. It was “executive driven” and had approximately 15,100kms on it. We were hesitant on purchasing a slightly used vehicle, but Cameron, Georgetown Kia. It was “executive driven” and had approximately 15,100kms on it. We were hesitant on purchasing a slightly used vehicle, but Cameron, our salesman, assured us that the car would have a full inspection and would be handed over in perfect condition. We noticed a few imperfections on the hood and we were told that they would have it fixed before we picked it up. We went ahead with the vehicle and were told it needed to go through the inspection and get the hood fixed and they would call when it was ready. We were told to pick it up on a Friday and upon going to the dealership the hood had not been fixed. They apologized and told me to bring it back and they would have it fixed. We took the car home and on Sunday morning we had a flat tire on the front left. We called the dealership and brought the car in. We were told that we would have to pay for the tire. I asked if they could tell if it was a slow leak or not. They brought the technician out and he said that it was hard to tell for sure but it was likely a slow leak that was there previously. They still made me pay for the repair. We received a phone call from Cameron that he was going to credit our service account for the cost because they should have taken care of that for us. To this day we still have a slow leak in the tire as it was never repaired properly. After feeling like the service department was out to gouge us when we brought it in for a couple of oil changes we decided to have it serviced at a mechanic shop we trusted. At approximately 36,000kms (a couple of weeks ago) we noticed a scraping noise and so we brought it in and our mechanic said that our front brakes had seized. He said that this could happen if the car had been sitting for a long period of time. We drive the vehicle every day, with the exception of when we go on vacation so we knew that it was from when Kia had the vehicle. Our mechanic suggested we bring it to Kia to see if they would cover it under warranty. We made an appointment and brought it in and we were told the same thing, the front brakes were seized and it was caused from the vehicle sitting for a long period of time. Kia quoted us over $150 more than our mechanic to replace the front brakes and they were taking none of the blame. In addition, the fuel economy and fit and finish of the car are also well below what is acceptable. Overall the experience with Kia and the lack of quality in the vehicle is really disappointing. We were excited to give Kia a try with their promises of great quality and a wonderful warranty. Having to completely replace brakes at 36,000kms is normal wear to them, where in our Honda that has over 180,000kms we have only had to replace the front brake pads once. This is not normal wear and tear and should have been caught before we were given the vehicle if a proper inspection had been done. More
I found the experience of buying a car with Georgetown Kia extremely helpful. The manner in which we were greeted from the start was exceptional, everything we wanted, we got! There were no pushy sales tactics used and the style of sale was definately "whatever we wanted, we got." George helped us get a great deal and was definately within our budget, in fact with his help he allowed us to get a great car for under the budget we had initially laid out. The before, during and after sale experience was exceptional, and considering the amount of times we have bought a car previous to this, this was by far the best and a breath of fresh air from a car dealership.
