I purchased my vehicle from this location in 2014, and since then have completed the required maintenance at this location. When it came time to complete my 60,000km inspection, I had been having a problem starting the vehicle. When the gas tank is around a quarter tank of gas, regardless of whether the vehicle was plugged in, it was warm out, or in neutral, I would turn the vehicle on and it would start, and then within 10 seconds turn off. When I called Centaur Subaru to book my car in for an appointment, Pat, the sales receptionist was beyond rude to me. Instead of simply listening to my concern and booking me in for an appointment, she decided to condescendingly teach me how to drive standard over the phone, and suggest that I am probably just stalling. When I reminded her that this was happening while the car was in neutral, she stated that it is actually impossible to start a car in neutral and that is why it is not working. According to page 7-10 of the 2015 Subaru Impreza owner’s manual, to start the vehicle you are supposed to “shift the shift lever into neutral,” in addition, I have been starting the vehicle the same way for the past 4 years. I am not sure where Pat got her information about manual transmission cars from, but it directly contradicts the owner’s manual. When I picked my car up after the service appointment, they let me know that my battery was “most likely faulty” and they installed a new one. The service representative stated that I will no longer have problems with my car, and it will start properly from now on. It seemed like they went for the easy “fix” and there were factors to the problem they were not considering, such as it not starting while plugged in, and how the gas tank levels impacted it. The next morning, and for a week after that I experienced the same problem when trying to start my car, it would start and then immediately turn off. I called Centaur Subaru service, and once again spoke to Pat. She stated that they replaced the battery, so there are not any problems with my car; therefore there was no reason to book it in for an appointment. After another condescending and rude conversation I managed to book my car in for an appointment a few days later. I spent the rest of the day thinking about how negative my interaction with Pat was and ended up cancelling my appointment with Centaur Subaru because I did not want to go somewhere that was associated with that level of customer service. Since this interaction I booked my vehicle in for service at another location, where they figured out why my vehicle was not starting properly. So not only did I have to pay for a brand new battery, because mine was “most likely faulty”, but I had to pay for another dealership’s second opinion on something Centaur Subaru should have caught in the first place. I cannot believe the customer services skills of the service department at Centaur Subaru. More
Great buying experience at Centaur Subaru I recently purchased my 2018 Wrx from Michael Belland and John Leacock at centaur Subaru and the whole process from start to finish was excellent. The I recently purchased my 2018 Wrx from Michael Belland and John Leacock at centaur Subaru and the whole process from start to finish was excellent. These guys don’t fool around, they know their product and are extremely friendly and honest. Michael went the extra mile to secure the right car for me and it arrived weeks before the promised date. No extra fees and are willing to negotiate unlike the other Subaru dealership in town. Thank you Centaur Subaru you have gained another happy customer. More

They don't care about their customers When my 2008 Outback was due for its first timing belt replacement, I also opted to have the head gasket leak fixed, at the advice of Centaur's servic When my 2008 Outback was due for its first timing belt replacement, I also opted to have the head gasket leak fixed, at the advice of Centaur's service dept. The car was in good condition, and I went ahead with the $2,200 service/repair in the hopes of driving it for another 4-6 years. The car didn't even make it to the next oil change. Coincidence? Broke down on the highway. Had it towed to Centaur. They told me the engine needed to be replaced and offered to do so for about $7,000. I ended up donating it to charity. The engine, which should have easily gotten to 400,000 km, had less than $180,000 km on it. We've been loyal Subaru drivers since 1992, and have had 9 of them, but after that experience, my last Subaru was very likely my LAST Subaru. More

Clueless Subaru in general is having plenty of issues with oil consumption problems lately but good luck having Centaur help you out with this. Besides this, Subaru in general is having plenty of issues with oil consumption problems lately but good luck having Centaur help you out with this. Besides this, good luck making a call or booking something in a normal amount of time. I guarantee you'll wait for weeks. No customer parking, no extended hours of service, no weekends, no rides back to Centaur for pickup, no comfortable waiting room.... They say it's a family run dealership, may be they should spend some money on a proper up-to-date facility after all these years. There is a couple sales guys that are decent (a couple only..) but Mike in Service just doesn't have a clue about customer service. In fact the whole service group will let you down. They are always on the defensive. I wonder why?! I can't say the Service Manager at Subaru Calgary is any better 'cause he's really not, nor is the service or wait times but at least you have a comfortable place to wait, a place to park and they can drive you around and pick you up... I really wish there was another option for Subaru warranty service in Calgary... More
Consider Customer Experience We bought our STi and Tribeca from this dealership, and I have taken them here for service throughout their lifetimes. They have worked with us to pro We bought our STi and Tribeca from this dealership, and I have taken them here for service throughout their lifetimes. They have worked with us to provide reasonable service for minor and major work. However, there are no "little extras" that would make me rate them a 5 and HIGHLY recommend them to friends which other dealerships provide: shuttle service - I get dropped off but not picked up car wash (exterior and wipe down interior) - if they keep it all day, it would be nice to have a clean car reduced wait times - open earlier for drop off - spread out the arrivals rather than a big line-up at 8am, have more than 1 driver (Jared is FANTASTIC but he can't be everywhere at once - he remembers where I work and is chatty, or not, depending on the customers).
