Car-On Auto Sales responded

Dear Mr. Penner, We are very disappointed to hear that your experience at Car-On was not to your expectations. It is always disappointing for us to hear that a customer feels we have not lived up to our reputation. We do, however, need to clarify a couple of your statements. We certainly did not “bump you due to more important clients”. We were waiting for a specific part only available from Mazda Canada. We could have delivered your vehicle without replacing this part but chose to deliver a quality vehicle as we feel our long term customer satisfaction is more important than a quick delivery. Certain things are within our control and others aren’t. In this case, as explained to you on the Friday of your scheduled delivery, we were at the mercy of Mazda Canada. At time of delivery, you asked us to “make it up to you because you couldn’t get your convertible for the weekend”. As a goodwill gesture we offered you a years’ worth of free oil changes and your response was that “you were insulted by this offer”. We felt this was a generous offer and are unclear as to what you feel is an acceptable offer for delaying your delivery “1 business” day due to a situation that was beyond our control. Mr. Penner, we have not built our reputable business over the past 30 years by “pushing tin”. We do believe and strive for customer satisfaction and always appreciate customer feedback; good or bad. Mr.Caron Your clarification comes a month after I bought the car. Thanks for you concern, finally. Your comments are full of half truths at best. No one told me that a missing part was the reason for the delay until after I finally spoke to your manager over a week later. No one told me that you were replacing parts. When I asked Ken about this he said that customers don't need to know what we do when we prep a car. I am not making this up. It seems not disclosing work done is pretty shady. I was not insulted by the offer of two oil changes. I simply didn't accept it. Your man Ken is not telling the whole story and neither are you. The main issue is that none of you thought to follow up until long afterward. I don't like doing this in public but I notice you posted your reply to the world and not to me. Again, pretty shady. Your team failed on many levels. Therefore so have you. Judging by your reviews this is not normal for you. I would have thought you would have tried harder to make it right in my case. Too little. Too late. I am not insulted. I am disappointed.
