I purchased my 2020 Camry from another dealership but have always taken it to Simcoe Toyota for maintenance. Dec 30 I started my car and a check engine light came up on my dash. I took it to Simcoe Toyota, unannounced and was met with a warm greeting. They were short staffed, but were able to take my vehicle for a diagnostic test. They discovered my battery needed replacing. Eric (service manager) was extremely professional and took FANTASTIC care of me. I highly recommend Simcoe Toyota for service!!!

I purchased a Rav 4 and had a wonderful experience dealing with Sumaiya C. I really went in to just look and plan to start putting my name in for any used vehicles that would come in. In a matter of a couple of hours she showed me a used Rave that was in with very low mileage. In a week I drove away and even traded in my old Toyota Corolla! This is Toyota #4 for me and I love their products. I really appreciated Sumaiya's professionalism and her courtesy. I would recommend her as a salesperson anytime. On a scale of 1-10 I would give her a 9+

Recall Toyota Corolla 2020 Manual Shift Clutch master - digital4ffun

Recall Toyota Corolla 2020 Manual Shift Clutch master cylinder failure. It is leaking and spilling fluid on the clutch pedal which makes the clutch very slippery and unsafe to use The clutch and brake fluid are shared in this 2020 Toyota Corolla , meaning when the brake fluid gets low it becomes very unsafe to drive because the brake fluid was all leaked in the clutch system and there is none left to brake the car. Problem is already known for same year model and later but Toyota Canada refuse to call it a safety recall. Some other Toyota vehicles have the same problems. Since my car is about 6 years old and have only 28000 kms its a $1000 repair. The request for a Good Will Repair has been denied at Sunrise Toyota Orillia and denied from Toyota Canada Toyota Canada refuse to treat this issue as a recall. I reported the Issue to Transport Canada. The car has not been over used or abused, most of the time it sits in the driveway. It is crucial that this becomes a safety recall ASAP, Toyota and their dealers are knowingly placing the public in danger. If you are reading this and had clutch/brake fluid leaking into your car/truck, over the clutch pedal and foot rest area please report to Transport Canada so they can see this as a safety recall.

We purchased a 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid from Race Toyota. We have been Toyota people for years. Our friends gave us a card from Race Toyota that they highly recommended. We called the dealership and spoke with Brian Moulder, who we found out later was the owners. He spent a long time with us working out various scenarios for us, all the time not knowing if we were shopping or purchasing. We felt completely comfortable with him and felt that he was not pushing us into anything. We called numerous times and he took the time to talk to us in his busy schedule. We have never experienced a sales person who worked as much as he did, finding the best fit for us. The whole team at Race Toyota went out of their way during the purchase and after. The service department of this dealership not only fails - Kurt.grant

The service department of this dealership not only fails to live up to the concept of service, it actively avoids it. I was gas lit ant tole the techs were looking at it, while my car sat in their lot without being loooked at. It turns out their reputation for arogance is well known around town and amungst automotive professionals from Cornwall to Kingston. Toyota is a good product, this dealership however is to be avoided at all cost.

I have been taking my vehicle to this dealership every now and then. They are a very nice dealership to work with. Ive always been well taken care of. This time I was a lot disappointed with them. My 2010 toyota camry hybrids key fob stopped working last year. I took it to them, they inspected it (free of charge) and recommended me to get the keys changed. They also provided me a keysmith contact, which I followed up with. The contact confirmed that the keys were okay. I took the car back to the dealership, and asked them to diagnose it. That afternoon their service called me and mentioned that they tried to reprogram the keys by following the steps from toyota and let alone getting the keys to work, the car wont even start. They diagnosed a part called "ECU" that was fried. According to them, this would happen if somebody tried to hack in to the vehicle. The dealership mentioned that the ECU had to be ordered from USA and it would cost about $2,600 CAD and it would take about 2 weeks to get. They also mentioned that it should be covered by the insurance. I contacted the insurance and they assessed the vehicle with no trace of forced entry into the vehicle. Of course, the insurance canceled the claim. The dealership would not confirm if that would 100% solve the problem and nor they would roll the part back if it didn't work. I gave up on the dealership and towed my vehicle to a local mechanic. Last week after 2 months I finally got the vehicle. I was disappointed to hear that the issue with the car had nothing to do with the ECU. The issue was with a wire that could have been cut by a rodent or erosion due to salt. Had I gone ahead with the dealership, God knows how much these guys would have costed me. When the dealership provided me the quote and I asked for alternate options or the confidence in their diagnosis, they showed 99% confidence in their diagnosis, but no guarantees. I have contacted the dealership several times, but I did not hear back from them. Toyota is known for quality. Nobody in Barrhaven deserves this kind of service from toyota.

Excellent dealership! I have recently purchased a new car from Russelle Toyota and the entire process was professional, easy and stress free. Previously I have also used the Service Department, Parts Department and Body Shop and always had a great experience. Everyone is friendly and honest. Not sure about the other negative reviews but my experience has always been excellent.

I ordered a 2024 Venza hybrid and waited for almost 10 months. When the car arrived, they refused to give me the car. I was told that the order was put in with an assumption that I would return my leased car to the dealer. It was a very frustrating experience. This was the fourth car that I leased from the same dealer. Just make sure you don’t assume that once your orderin, the car will be yours.

Failure to properly repair fault - Tom

In the fall I was on vacation near Timmins when my Toyota Sienna failed. It was towed to James Toyota for repairs and they were advised as to what the trouble was and what the repair was needed . The Alternator was intermittently failing and caused the battery to fail. On picking up the vehicle they only replaced the battery and claimed no fault was evident on the alternator. On returning to my city the next morning I had the vehicle fail to start and had it towed to Toyota dealer which identified the alternator as defective and replaced same under warranty. On contacting James Toyota and requesting refund of the labour portion of the bill as the repair was NOT completed I was refused.

I made an appointment to see James for 3:00. I showed up 10 mins early and waited around until 3:30. That should have been my first red flag. We had discussed the vehicles I wanted to try and in what order I wanted to try them so I could have a good idea when comparing similar vehicles and he said everything would be all lined up ready to go. When he finally showed up, he didn't have anything ready that he said he would have prepared. He wasted a lot of my time just finding the vehicles I wanted after asking what I was looking for again. I went out for some test drives which were OK. I asked him a couple questions in which he didn't have answers and he said he'd get back to me via email with the answers. He never answered them even though I reminded him several times. I asked him to give me a quote on the vehicle and he said he'd email them to me. He didn't do that but rather asked me how I'm going to pay and then asked again about what I was looking for. I advised him that I would consider the quote with the vehicle and take the one that worked best for me. Five days later I get an email saying that the cost is MSRP and the vehicles are hot and not discounted along with several probing questions in other emails trying to get information to help him make more profit. I feel this could have been told to me on day one. I understand that they are there to make a profit but I wasted five days. I would not buy anything from James.

Made a deal on a car, sales person never updated me was sent an e mail that car was in after 10 months. Was called by salesman the next day to learn that the price had gone up by 1685.00$ because I was getting a 2023 instead of a 2022. Went in to speak to manager with my purchase agreement and told him I would pay the agreed on price he flatly refused. So no car, if I had paid the extra I would have had major buyers remorse. Called OMVIC about my experience and they said although I was treated badly, no law was broken. Thanks for reading my story and beware! A deal is no longer a deal.
