He said that it had everything I wanted and it was way better for only 2K more than the used vehicle I was looking at. I listed my needs and I was told that this new vehicle was going to have everything including remote start package and a block heater (I specifically asked for these because I had to purchase them on a previous vehicle and it was a hassle). I was told it was a no-brainer, the 2019 model would have it all. He did say the remote starter wasn't in yet but that they would call me immediately when the remote start package was available but promised me that it would absolutely be installed before winter. I was also assured that all vehicles come with block heaters. Since I was referred to this place by a friend... I didn't bother even looking. It has been almost a year. I have called back so many times looking to see where the remoter start was. They recommended I buy a remote start that comes with a separate fob. I paid 1200 for my remote start to be installed into my current key, so I said absolutely not. Unless, they installed this on in the interim and then when the company made one came out, they replace it. They said no. I asked them to call me AS SOON as they heard about when this part would be in and they assured me they would. It is now January and I have had no phone calls from them. I called today and was informed that they have to look into some information, but they recognized who I was even before I said my name. I asked them to see if a block heater had ever been installed because I couldn't find one to plug my vehicle in before I went on holidays. There was never one installed. The guy said I will call you back in 5 minutes. He then went on lunch. I called them back 20-30 minutes later. This is when I found out from a different parts person that the model I have actually will not have a remote starter designed by Toyota and I need a different one installed. I asked when they heard this information and Toyota was informed in November. I had called them for information at least 7 times in November and December and was told NO NEW INFORMATION WAS IN. When I was referred to Sales to discuss my disappointment with their customer service and communication. I was informed the sales associate who sold me the car no longer worked there. I said I wanted the block heater installed, and the remote start before the temps fall to -30. He informed me that would be an additional cost. I said this is bull because I was told it was included. I was also informed that the car starter will still cost 1200 for installation even though its LED. My last LED install with two remotes cost me $500. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Go anywhere else. More
I have never leave any comments but this time Yes. Customers should stay away from this brand ... Toyota On The Trail. Especially if you have a vehicle to trade in, yours is garbage and theirs is Gold Customers should stay away from this brand ... Toyota On The Trail. Especially if you have a vehicle to trade in, yours is garbage and theirs is Gold. If they have a good deal, the vehicle should has been in accident and they still show it is nothing. Toyota generally is reliable with the name and we choose but not this Slealership. This management should be considered. Edmonton has more way better Dealership than this. Don’t spend your time here. It’s just very central but you will surely have more things at others. This is a real Stealership. Be aware! Very poor! More
Used Car Purchase I was in need of a new truck after a collision wrote off my old one. Based on previous dealings, I knew that Toyota On the Trail was the place to go. I was in need of a new truck after a collision wrote off my old one. Based on previous dealings, I knew that Toyota On the Trail was the place to go. I did a lot of shopping on-line, comparing prices from other dealerships. Toyota on the Trail offered the best price for what I was looking for. No other dealership in Canada came close. I wasn't disappointed when I went to the dealership. There I met Alfred Chen, who took the time to work with me. No pressure from him to push me into a vehicle I didn't want. I was provided with options for a new and used vehicle. Though either would have suited my needs, the used was the way to go for me. Alfred helped to provide a pleasant experience, and was there to great me and see me on my way the next day when I picked up the vehicle. I would recommend Toyota on the Trail and Alfred Chen to anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. More

Never take responsibility always get answer person is busy with customer, they will give you a call back and it will not happen in 8 hrs, I assumed that they are busy with one customer without any breaks More

The branch manager sent me a email on my experience and how they can do better for the next time, and when l responded to her l did not hear back for a follow up. These people just want your money and do not care how they insult you . Will never go there again. John V More

First off the car I was looking at had parts missing that they would not replace even though it showed on the online pics, and in the description of car. They would not even negotiate the price of parts that were missing. The sales manager just sat there and said thanks for bringing it to our attention. Since then they have not even changed the ad, they also stated another deal was coming in so my deal was second even though I was the first one there before any salesman arrived that day. They later perked up when I said maybe a new car they said they would give me the best deal. I felt they were not trustworthy and left without buying. Other reviews even in google that state bad reviews of this dealership there response is we can not find you in our system, not sure if they can not find anyone if you do not buy. Stay away from this dealership Gateway Toyota was a much better experience very professional. More
The whole experience has been horrible I bought my 2015 4Runner from Toyota on the Trail earlier this year. I like the car but the whole experience has been horrible. Initially when I b I bought my 2015 4Runner from Toyota on the Trail earlier this year. I like the car but the whole experience has been horrible. Initially when I bought the car the sales person told me I needed to pay for window etching, I told him I did not want this and then he indicated it had already been completed so I would have to pay for it. I told him that it is against AMVIC to charge someone for this once they have turned it down and somehow the etching hadn’t been completed and I didn’t have to pay for it. Next the TPMS light was on during our test drive and the sales person (Yuri) told me it was because the rims on the car weren’t original and weren’t compatible with the TPM system and he wasn’t able to turn the light off. I’m not an expert so I took his word for it, at the end of the day it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I took my car in for service at Heniger Toyota recently and they told me that the light was on because the TPMS sensor was broken in one tire. Feels good to be lied to... Hopefully nothing else is wrong with my car they that left out during the sale process. I reached out to Toyota on the Trail about this and they said there was nothing they would do, even though there sales person lied to me about the TPMS. Honestly, I don’t care about the cost of fixing this it’s more just the sales mentality of this dealer ship. They lied, I bought it and now it’s my problem. I would strongly recommend against buying a used car here. The whole process was shady and has left me with an incredibly bad taste in my mouth. I hope not fixing the $150 TPMS in my car was worth the sale you got from me. Jamie More
Don't go to Toyota on trail, edmonton, these are looters, I am a sufferer. First they take your signatures by saying that we want to confirm you are a serious buyer. Then you are trapped. 02 yrs back upto 2 I am a sufferer. First they take your signatures by saying that we want to confirm you are a serious buyer. Then you are trapped. 02 yrs back upto 2017 it has different owner and policies, but now it's very different. As I was a old customer with Toyota on Trail, I was in same faith, but this time they just trapped me.They just kept eye on my pocket, how much they could pull from it. Those people snatched bread from the mouth of my kids. To survive they need bread instead of new vehicle. More
Sleazy to the max We went in to see the car one of our kids had picked out. The 'manager' had asked him what his budget was and had found a payment that 'fit' his budge We went in to see the car one of our kids had picked out. The 'manager' had asked him what his budget was and had found a payment that 'fit' his budget. When we went in they showed him a paper with the purchase price of the car and his payment. That's all - no breakdown of deposit, interest rate etc. We questioned the sales rep about that. Suddenly the manager appeared and said they had worked it out on a 18.99% interest rate as they ' thought' he wouldn't have much credit history. They were very aggressive about it and we walked out. 15 minutes later they texted him and said they could do it at 8.99%. It was so sleazy that I felt like I needed a shower after being there. In addition: They withheld the out of province inspection and they charged him an etching fee of $499 that they claimed was mandatory - (we checked with AMVIC and it's a total scam). Do yourself a favour and never ever set foot in this dealership. It can only be this sleazy if the owners approve of this behaviour. More
AVOID THIS PLACE AND LISTEN TO THE 1 STAR REVIEWS OR YOU WIL Please note that I have no motivation to write this review then to WARN OTHERS. The staff at Toyota on the Trail practices high pressure sales tactic Please note that I have no motivation to write this review then to WARN OTHERS. The staff at Toyota on the Trail practices high pressure sales tactics and will add extra hidden fees and high interest rates. Don’t be fooled. They conceal the total cost of the loan and will only show you the bi-weekly payment. Which means you may end up paying thousands extra. They literally refuse to show you the total cost until you are about to SIGN THE BILL OF SALES. Once they get your deposit or you sign documents they will attempt to run off with your money and refuse to address any issues you may have with your financing or car. They will also attempt to force you to pay FALSE AMVIC FEE'S WHICH TOTAL $500 OR MORE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND LOOK THROUGH THE 1 STAR REVIEWS, the number one complaint is DISHONESTY. They will lie to your face once you figure out their deception and THE THOUSANDS OF UNDISCLOSED DOLLARS ON YOUR LOANS, suddenly the sales person you were dealing with will be nowhere to be found and they will bring out one of their sales managers to intimidate and gaslight you. They will also spend hours forcefully persuading you to buy pointless warranties and have you waiting around for several hours in a stuffy room. Mothers and families with children be warned. The management team and sales people are MORALLY BANKRUPT and will LIE, CHEAT and STEAL to swindle every dollar from you. I have never left a bad review in my life but my experience was so horrendous I needed to let others know. Go somewhere else if you can help it. ANY OTHER DEALERSHIP IS BETTER THEN THIS ONE. xxxx, go to another Toyota location and try your luck there. All the 5 star reviews are because they hand you an iPad and ask everyone to give them 5 stars before they get you into to speak to the financing department and start their swindling. If you doing any dealings with them, keep all your documents and record all their promises or they will go back on their word. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing and heartbreaking experiences I have ever had with any business. There is NOTHING that these jokers can offer me to EVER set foot in their dealership again. My morals cannot be bought out. BUYER BEWARE! To the team at Toyota on the Trail, I have told countless people about my experiences at your dealership and every single one was shocked and disgusted. You seriously need to consider the way you train your staff and management in conflict resolution and basic human respect. Word of mouth is powerful and I am pleased to see that word is getting out about the unethical way you are treating customers. Your ratings are taking a dive and it is well deserved! More
