Hi Mr. McCarthy, IN summary- In all fairness to the Service Consultant and Technician-involved. When the technician initially started the vehicle by a boost here, you were notified about the bottom end noise in the engine before the battery and alternator was installed. You acknowledged that you knew about the engine noise- but declined to have it further diagnosed etc. But authorized us to go ahead with the battery and alternator replacement. We then installed the new battery and alternator and released the vehicle back to you. For your second tow- It was felt at the time by the Service Consultant that if the alternator /battery repair was the cause of the vehicle failure - then we would be responsible for the tow. This was subsequently found out not to be the case. You then decided not to have any further diagnosis performed. Notwithstanding such - after a conversation with you we decided on a goodwill basis to cover the cost of the second tow for you.. I would be more than happy to discuss this with you further.
