We are happy to report that this customer did return to Subaru of Mississauga and complete the purchase of this vehicle.. Unfortunately, in our business, we negotiate a lot of things : A sale price, a trade-in value, a discount , extra options etc. This leads to one 'side' or the other being a little unhappy with the final result. The customer never really knows if they 'got' a good price or not and the dealer wonders that if they held out, could they have gotten a little higher transaction price. Unfortunately, in this situation we were unable to originally meet the customer's expectation on price. From a pricing perspective it's not like you are shopping at Loblaws buying ketchup and only having to make a choice between the more expensive 'Heinz' brand or going with the less expensive no-name brand. Sometimes due to supply / demand / incentives / market conditions etc., some deals are able to be done quickly and with no hassles...and sometimes they aren't. If a retailer is willing to sell a vehicle for a lower price, that is their prerogative and their business. ... it's kind of like offering to pay $1.10 for a liter of gas when the going rate is $1.25..... someone or some stations might take you up on your offer.... it doesn't mean all rest of the gas stations have to.....We hope that you understand(but might not like!) our pricing position sometimes.
