WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! ! My two initial regrets are; Firstly,.... I didn't read the reviews before I decided to go to Southtown Hyundai. Secondly ..... That there is no rat ! My two initial regrets are; Firstly,.... I didn't read the reviews before I decided to go to Southtown Hyundai. Secondly ..... That there is no rating lower than one star. After buying several new vehicles over the years and experiencing service between good and excellent it certainly was an awakening how bad and how untrustworthy a dealer can be.In July 2021 I wanted a small truck and after much research the new Santa Cruz was the one I chose. I truly really like the truck so far but not the people I bought it from. The truck being a new product to Hyundai's line up was not yet but soon to be available. On that note I made a visit to Southtown Hyundai to see if they had more information and I was directed to a salesperson (Mandy) and after some discussion she printed off the 2022 Santa Cruz Product guide for me and quoted a price of between $35 - $45,000 depending on the trim level chosen and she gave me a delivery in August or September. In the next day or two I put this vehicle on order with the top trim level ($45,000) and my chosen colour and gave them a $500 good faith deposit. The Vehicle didn't arrive until December 23, 2021 which I don't fault Southtown for as all manufactures were experiencing delivery problems due to a chip shortage. I arrived at Southtown to finalize the deal and drive away with my shiny new truck. And then I was hit between the eyes, they now wanted $55,000 for the vehicle, more than 20% higher than I was first told. Needless to say I xxxx near s**t myself, I told them and showed them the price I had from Mandy in July and their response was that she had no right giving me that price as it was wrong. My response was that was more of their problem than it was of mine and they should call Mandy out here to question and verify. They said she no longer worked there, how convenient and they would not honour that quote. As I still wanted the vehicle I grudgingly agreed to $51,000 (still a rip off) and they agreed to throw in a "winter package" which consisted of three items and of which I had to repeatedly hound them for and to this date I still have not received one of the items. Each and every time I phoned or messaged I was put on to somebody else and each time they had no idea what I was talking about but said they would take care of it but it never happened. With this company literally the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I find it totally incomprehensible that neither Hyundai or Go Auto would tolerate such unprofessionalism. the only silver lining in this debacle was the salesman Wade Romanick who's tried to do his best but it was obvious his hands were tied by company policy. I have zero faith or trust in this company especially after reading other reviews and i will search for another Hyundai dealership to handle my needs. Life is too short and I strongly recommend not dealing with this Southtown Hyundai. More

I had my oil, with a standard filter changed at a Canadian Tire. Adviser couldn't explain why it should matter about the filter not being OEM. Instead I got some vague explanation about it affecting the engine. Not sure if it's just a tactic to sell you a new filter, or a loop hole to void your warranty. This is more of a criticism of Hyundai, than the Service Advisor. More
I don’t even know where to start because I had the worse experience dealing with Southtown Hyundai. I bought my car there on September 2021 and my experience was alright, right until I signed the papers an experience dealing with Southtown Hyundai. I bought my car there on September 2021 and my experience was alright, right until I signed the papers and I felt like they totally forgot about me. Fast forward to February 2022. I hit a pothole and my one of tire exploded. I do have a tire warranty so of course the first thing I did was to contact them. They told me to bring my car to the dealership so they can take a look at it. Upon checking my tire, Fahad (the parts person I was dealing with) told me that the tires on my car is discontinued. The warranty is only covering one tire (which is fair) but Fahad said that since my tire is discontinued, that they have to order different tires but, they can’t order just one, they HAVE to order all four. So basically, warranty will cover one and I have to pay for the 3 other tires and it’s gonna cost me over 2000 dollars!! It doesn’t make sense to me coz I literally just bought the car 5 months ago.. So since it was Saturday when I drop off my car, they said, it’s best to leave my car there so I don’t damage the tire even more. I asked for a shuttle to take me home and they said they don’t have one, I asked for a loaner car and nope, nothing at all. So I was basically at the dealership, car less with no help available from the people who I supposed to trust. I was there for 3 hours and at the end of it all, I ddnt get ANY help or solutions. I left my car there from Saturday-Wednesday hoping they have answer for me. They said they will call me Monday and keep me updated. I waited all day and no call back so I had to call them myself. I had to rent a car using my own money so I can get to work. At the end of it all, they said they can’t do anything about it unless I get all 4 tires and that was their final answer to me. Frustrated, so I called around and in ended up calling West End Hyundai. Right on the bat, the person I spoke to was so helpful. I told them my situation and he said he will look for the tire and I’ll get a call back. Within 5 minutes, they call me and they said they found the tire. It’s in Calgary (I live in Edmonton) and they will get it ship to the dealership ASAP. Less than 24 hours, they got the tire so I picked up my car from Southtown Hyundai and brought it to west end Hyundai. I got there only to find that they did not put my rim back in my tire and it wasn’t in my car so I had to go back to Southtown Hyundai to pick up my the rim. Ridiculous!! West end Hyundai, fix my car as soon as possible that day and made sure that everything is getting taken care of. They even call me a cab so I can go home and offered to cab me back to the dealership. And to top it all off, they give me a free complementary oil change. So with all that being said, I don’t know why Southtown told me, or should I say, lied to my face and said that my tire is discontinued and I HAVE to get all new tires. It’s so frustrating that they did not give me any other options and they were trying to basically scam me to pay them for new tires. Who in the right mind would wanna buy brand new tires when the other 3 tires on my car is pretty much brand new!?? It’s so unfair and disheartening and super unprofessional. I trusted them to help me when I needed it but I was basically told that they won’t do anything about it unless I pay them for new tires. My experience with the two dealership was like day and night. I’m NEVER going back to Southtown Hyundai ever again. I’ve never had to deal with anything like this in my life and I find it super ridiculous!! I’m taking all my business to West End Hyundai from now on and suggest you do the same! More
Takes advantage of people at every opportunity. Sold me a Tuscon with no block heater in Edmonton, AB. Also sold me a service package but then charged me for $300 worth of oil changes. If I didn't make a a Tuscon with no block heater in Edmonton, AB. Also sold me a service package but then charged me for $300 worth of oil changes. If I didn't make an inquiry with service, they would have kept charging me. Recently had to repair door handles through warranty and driver side is broken again and wont open. Said I needed a new battery but I had it tested elsewhere and no issues. Full charge, like new. Will never buy a vehicle from here again. Service package is a rip off and they try to scam you into paying for services that are not required. More
They are scammers and unprofessional in conduct. They tried to get me to pay out of pocket for a repair under warranty. I ended up loosing over $4300. The General Manager and Service agent by the name Ri tried to get me to pay out of pocket for a repair under warranty. I ended up loosing over $4300. The General Manager and Service agent by the name Richard Mason refused to speak with me once I found out. Don’t do business with them! More
If we could give a zero we would. The salesman Sam Belamar and manager Sean Toner should be ashamed. My girlfriend and I bought a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander and had trouble with the tire sensor from t Belamar and manager Sean Toner should be ashamed. My girlfriend and I bought a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander and had trouble with the tire sensor from the beginning which they maintained was just low air. There were noticeable defects in the paint as well and this car was advertised as and sold as no collisions as per carfax. We brought our concerns and they directed us to warranty. Warranty said that these were not defects in the paint but were rather touch up from an accident (uhhh zero accidents???!!) and also that the tire pressure was due to the tire having a staple from a staple gun shot through it from the inside of the tire. We brought this info back to Sam and Sean and they did nothing. This is unacceptable service, we were completely blown off. Worst dealership run by terrible people. More
Hi To whom it may concern, I was not satisfied, Hi To whom it may concern, I was not satisfied, not even 1% of the service. As i bought my Hyundai Sonata 2017 to southtown hyundai edmonton b Hi To whom it may concern, I was not satisfied, not even 1% of the service. As i bought my Hyundai Sonata 2017 to southtown hyundai edmonton branch for general oil serive in july. thats where it started me keep on going to service centre. Firstly, when i got my oil change they found oil leaking underneath my car. So the service was done for that. Later, I thought to tell them about the Rattling Noise issue when I'm Accelerating the gas on the road, which I was having this issue more than one month before taking to the service center. So the Mechanic ( QUAN ) who did the diagnosis and told me that there was a high pressure fuel pump sound which causes rattling sound under the hood, which has to be replaced. As a customer we trust the Mechanic and Service Advisor. So i agreed with that service and told to replace the High pressure fuel pump which got me the bill around $1700. I took the delivery on the same day, but the next minute, i figured it out the issue was not resolved and immediately i talked with Tanya. She book test drive with mechanic later next week and we ( Me and Mechanic ) drove the car and found the rattling noise very very clearly even when the windows are closed. This was the problem i have been told them and having more than one month, but he couldn't hear when he did the first test drive. But the hears now. Im wondering does he did test drive the car just around the parking lot ? and going under 20kms ? Thats not the way mechanics do test drive if I'm not wrong. Even when i did test drive with the mechanic we were going in 40km. Sound was too loud. For the before service He just assumed or i don't know, he told the noise is from high pressure pump and changed the part. Now he found the rattling issue when i drove with him and figured it out and saying this has to been done to Tanya and she emailed me saying this : ( He technician has inspected the spark plugs and inspected the intake valves with the borescope. We have found that the valves are gummed up with carbon which is causing pre detonation (the rattle noise) while under load. The technician recommends to replace the spark plugs, clean the intake manifold and perform the major fuel induction service to clean the throttle body and injector valves from carbon build up. ) when we got to know the actually problem is i guess thats the problem this time atleast, So, I asked her about the service you've done for the high pressure fuel pump which was billed for that, whereas i haven't asked about the service. The reason she told me is, the mechanic heard the rattling noise is from high pressure pump at that time he was checking, so we have done that service. And now he heard this ( Rattling noise ) issue in spark plug. Now they gave me the Quote of $1200 to Resolve the rattling noise. I Don't have any problem to get the service done from you guys, But what about the service done before which was not my concern ? And top off that i have to pay for each and every diagnosis around $120. MY ISSUES ARE : 1 ) I CAME TO THE SERVICE CENTRE ABOUT THE RATTLING NOISE WHICH THE MECHANIC HEARD, WHEN WE WENT TO TEST DRIVE. NOT FOR THE OTHER SOUNDS OR ANY OTHER ISSUES. 2 ) HOW DID HE JUST ASSUME THIS IS THE PROBLEM AND CHANGES HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WHICH GOT ME BILL $1700 WITHOUT DOING A PROPER TEST DRIVE AND DOING PROPER DIAGNOSIS. 3 ) HOW DID HE HEAR THE PROBLEM WHEN I DROVE THE CAR AND NOT HEARD WHEN HE DID THE TEST DRIVE. I don't suggest anyone to go to Southtown hyundai edmotion service centre for the car service not even for oil change. More
