The made a long distance deal (signed) on a vehicle with a more valuable trade, took a deposit. Cost us a 7 hour round trip to “pick it up” only to be told ANOTHER round of xx. Then they tried to slither out of it by “ignoring” all calls and delaying (and LYING) about getting the agreed work done. Promised estimate reports from the brand dealer but just a LIE, nothing done. Kamal (sales) and Rob (GSM) are both a couple of DESPICABLE LOSERS (100% live up to reputation of “used car salesmen”) with no ethics/morals and too chicken S*** to even have a conversation. Saying the car not worth fixing, going to salvage but... look at that... they just repost the ad with same info! IF YOU ARE SMART YOU WILL RUN FAST AND RUN FAR from this place. More
Beware of this dealership!!! I arranged the test drive, went there and they raised the price over night and treated me like some loser!!! Beside that, the car was in a way worse condition than they stated. went there and they raised the price over night and treated me like some loser!!! These people are terrible. I contacted them a few weeks ago about buying a new truck. All I wanted was some rough numbers to see if it was going to financially work for me. Salesperson was very pushy. I wa ago about buying a new truck. All I wanted was some rough numbers to see if it was going to financially work for me. Salesperson was very pushy. I was working at the time and if I didn't answer his call he would call me 2 or 3 times in a row and even from different phone numbers. Even asked me for a credit card number to prove to the finance people that I was serious about buying a truck. Why would you want my credit card number to show I was serious? And got offensive when I told him I wasn't comfortable with that. The took all my information over the phone witch i was ok with because I don't live near the dealership. And just came to find out the even pulled my credit without my permission. All I was looking for was numbers, not to have my credit pulled. Thanks guys for lowering my credit score. Would not recommend dealing with these people. More
Very disappointed in Southtown Dodge Dealership, Edmonton & would not recommend. Purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2 years ago & paid $2000 for the Platinum Autoplus service offered by First Canadian P & would not recommend. Purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2 years ago & paid $2000 for the Platinum Autoplus service offered by First Canadian Protection Products. I made notes during the deal & was told this would be honored at any dealership in AB (as I live 5 hrs from Edmonton), would include free inspection of coating, interior, undercoat, tire rims as well as free fixes for door dings, scratches, dents, rock chips. Turns out the free inspection is only at place of purchase & the cost in my city is $140. Additionally, the deal does not include rock chips, scratches, or rims. Spoke to Finance Manager at Southtown to request clarification & have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. He spoke down to me, and was interruptive, rude, demeaning, and sarcastic. I am a health care professional working and a firm believer in kindness, respect, empathy for my clientele. More
I have a story for you!! My husband and I needed a new’er vehicle to replace our dying work truck. In the past we have always did private sales, buying cheaper deals-but this purchase my husband wante new’er vehicle to replace our dying work truck. In the past we have always did private sales, buying cheaper deals-but this purchase my husband wanted to go thru a dealership. He thought that by spending our money there, we would experience less risk. We find a truck that we liked at south town Chrysler. Purchase price was 9997 for 2010 gmc. Was a nice truck. Test drive and was assured that mechanically it was in great condition-minus the minor recommended repairs. He said that it went for a in depth inspection ($795 cost). We were happy. All in cost was $13.5k with inspection, warranty (36k or 36km) and various other non-neg costs. Noticed on paperwork that mileage numbers were different on all papers. Dealer said that was normal. We didn’t think a big deal at the time. We take the truck home on Feb1st2021. We don’t drive it too much because roads were very crummy at the time and it needed tires, and we wanted to do the recommended work first. It was parked for 3 weeks. We start driving it after we get the work completed approximately March. Shop noted that all Fluids were extremely dirty, so we changed those as well. *red flag*. We drive the truck for a steady 30days. April 2/21, husband drives to our property in Thorhild for the day and when he returns home, I could hear him coming from down the street. The knocking from the engine was LOUD! He was stressed. He knew what it was, and knew the truck was inoperable without a very expensive repair. The truck sits for weeks, till we decide to call the warranty place. They remind us that they only cover $2300 and give us a place to bring it around the block. Speedy auto repair has it for the day and gives us the quote for just shy of 6k but tells us to call the dealership before we do the repair first because the engine was in “horrible’ condition. I call immediately and speak with Raj, as it appears that in a couple months time, all employees are different. I explain what is going on and he agrees that it isn’t right what has happened(I argue that we paid for a $795inspection and so on) He asks that I email him all in writing plus repair quote. From then on, all dealing are in calls. We tow the vehicle to their location. He calls back and says that they can repair for $5300. We come to the deal that I pay 1k and insureance and Southtown will cover the rest. No details on specific repairs were spoken about as we assumed that the quote from repair shop was what was being done. 2 weeks later, they say to come pick up the repaired vehicle. Go to counter and pay 1k. I ask receptionist about warranty and she says that their work comes with 2years but doesn’t specifically point it out on paperwork. We figured it was there somewhere in writing. Get to the truck and start it. It’s f*xxxxx ticking but a different tick. I grab the paperwork and go in again. Reception gets a repair guy to speak to me. He says that “it’s a tick coming from the exhaust manifold from the f*ching used engine the put in”. I get loud. We didn’t consent to that at all. He escorts me out, explaining that I need to speak with Raj, as he did what he was told to do and that they didn’t want to fix the manifold and have us pay more then the agreed upon 1k. They replaced our broken engine with another broken engine and tried to extend that pricey repair onto us again xxx. He reassured us that I can drive it and in a bit of time they will put another claim but it will look suspect if they do it now. We were pissed and didn’t know what to do. We take it home. I look for a warranty component in the paperwork as well as detail on the used engine. There was NOTHING, no mileage no engine age no warranty. NOTHING!!!! I call again and he says that there is no paperwork on the engine because they took parts from many different vehicles. We were shocked. And very upset. I demanded that they call back with more details and asked again why they would exchange our engine without our consent. He says that he doesn’t know. Next day Dennis drives truck to work and on way home on hendey. It had problems. We had to tow it home as all fluids were on road. They didn’t connect the hoses. I email Raj immediately (it was 8pm). Next morning 645am I get call from shop with a PO to have it towed back right away. Couple hrs later they say to pickup. We absolutely refused. We asked for formal paper work stating mileage and age and for warranty. All have been denied. I tried dealing with the assistant manger Rob on many occasions. He was initially very understanding to our situation stating that he was a new guy and him and his partner took dealership over quite recently. No one denies exchanging the engine without our consents and continually passes the buck onto others but yet no real solutions. I asked to exchange truck for our all in costs(after initial recommended repairs), he stated that 16.5k wasn’t enough to buy another one “without the same types of trouble” and wouldn’t be comfortable with that. I even offered to add more. Then he said that he will fix the exhaust manifold and give us $1500 cash. I asked for a warranty with that deal. He verbally told us that the engine had 170k and was a year older, no paperwork tho so totally questionable. He absolutely refused the warranty. *red flag*We were worried with the up to date crappy workmanship, that right after we drive truck off property, it will break down. The truck has been sitting at their dealership since May 4th 2021. I have hired a lawyer and drawn up a demand letter asking to just walk away with what I’ve paid and they refuse. Only offering us the truck, no warranty and $1500. At this point I don’t know what to do. I may be ‘SOL’ for us, but I hope our horrible experience saves others from this horror. Please share our story and spread the word to avoid this Slimy dealership More
