Well if that sounds ** full story is 3rd Paragraph ** Like being lied too? Like being taken advantage of? Treated like your not of any importance? Well if that sounds like something your into, Ottawa Dodge on St.Laurent has you covered! Want to buy a used truck, have it delivered 6 days late, and then the whole time have to pay for a rental truck while the truck they TOLD YOU WAS BEING FIXED was actually just sitting there not being touched at all? Again, Ottawa dodge has you covered. I’ve purchased a lot of vehicles, and have never in my life had such a negative experience. From being lied to my face my Mike Gervais the used car manager and Vince the sales associate for 5 straight days to then having to actually pay out of your own pocket for a rental truck because you sold your car expecting a business to hold up they’re end of the bargain. Then in the end of it all, the repair job failed in 2 days and after a month still nothings done. The whole story is below, I suggest if you ever plan on buying a vehicle from a dealership, you read and learn from my experience: Purchased a used 2011 Ford F-150 from Ottawa dodge located on st. Laurent on March 29th 2018. Was shown the truck by Vince a new car salesman, but finalized the deal on the truck with Mike Gervais the used vehicle manager. I had 1 major thing I wanted fixed before I was to take possession of truck, which was rust that was starting to develop on the cab corners, and rocker panels. I was assured it was no big deal and they will get it fixed by they’re local body shop as a part of our agreement for me buying the truck. It was made a part of the contract on the purchase agreement form. Everything was finalized I handed them a big deposit and I was told on Saturday April 1st that pick up of the truck would be Thursday April 5th at noon. They said they would send the truck out to the body shop first thing Monday morning so it would be ready for Thursday at noon. Now during the whole process of finding a new truck, i had both my vehicles up for sale, work truck and a summer toy. I just had happened to found buyers for both vehicles at the same time so I had set it up so that my vehicles would be gone Wednesday evening. The week went buy and I heard nothing, so I assumed everything was going as anticipated. Sold both vehicles Wednesday afternoon, and had everything arranged for pick up Thursday. Wednesday evening I get a call from my salesman Vince saying that the rust on the truck was worse then anticipated and that they may have to push back the delivery till 5pm same day. I said no problem, things happen, I took the day off since i didn’t have a work vehicle anyway. Then I get a call later in the evening again from my salesman saying we’re going to have to push the delivery to Friday afternoon. I was upset, but what can you do, half a day isn’t the end of the world. Then I get a call Friday afternoon saying every time they cut a bit deeper into an area of the truck, it’s getting worse and worse, and they’ve had to replace more and more metal and it’s gonna be most likely Saturday I’ll get the truck. I put all my construction jobs off until the weekend expecting to get my truck, and now at this point I’m starting to panic, I need a truck to run my business, so I talked to the used vehicle manager, Mike Gervais, and explained the situation work wise and asked to see if I could get a loaner so I can complete my own obligations. He said we can cover half of a hertz rental.. so already I’m 2 days without a truck because they didn’t schedule correctly and now I have to pay a part of a rental.. I said fine I just want to get it done and over with, i called around a few places and found a location that had a truck available that same day and proceeded to call mike to tell him the cost. When I told mike what I was reserving, he told me he was only willing to pay half of a rental for a small ECONOMY car. Not a truck, not a van. Seeing as I was in a bind, I rented a truck anyway and had to physically go back to Ottawa dodge Saturday because no one was returning my calls.Mike then proceeded to tell me the truck wasn’t going to be ready today ( Saturday ) and most likely Monday but maybe Tuesday. Now Monday comes around and as usual I never get any calls. I have to call them, but still no one answers or returns my calls. So at this point I’d had it. I called the service department acting as someone looking for body work to get the name of the body shop they use, so I can call the body shop and see what’s taking them so long. I get there number and name ( which I AUBIN BODYSHOP ) and give them a call. They owner rob proceeds to tell me that they haven’t even touched the truck, he had no idea it was even sold and he never received a purchase order for any work to be done to it.. so for 5 straight days either Mike and Vince have been lying to my face, or the bodyshop has been lying to Ottawa dodge. After talking to the body shop I went straight to Mike to ask him what the xxxx is going on, and that the truck hasn’t even been touched and that he’s been lying to my face. Mike blamed the bodyshop, said there really busy at dodge ( which is why they can’t take 2 minutes to return a phone call ) and he will now cover half of the truck rental. So after all that I finally get my truck on Wednesday April 11th, 6 days after I was suppose too, and was out of pocket another 170$ for a rental truck because they would rather lie and deceive you, then tell you the truth. Once I got the truck I saw they sprayed a textured coating all where the cab corners and rockers were, I assumed it was an added measure to prevent rust from ever coming back. Signed all the papers, took the barely cleaned truck and got out of there as fast as I could. That should be the end of it right? NOPE. Within TWO DAYS THE RUST CAME BACK. The body shop never cut any metal or replaced any metal, they simply grounded down the rusty metal, and sprayed it with rocker guard. Brought the truck back to mike, and basically was told no we never agreed to replace the metal ( even tho they told me 6 different times that they had to cut more and more metal which is why the truck is taking so long ) and that this is how they “ fix “ it. Mike agreed the repairs were not done properly, but would not pay to replace the metal, only to re grind down the metal and do a more thorough grinding job. At this point I said fine, I just wanted to enjoy the truck and get back to work so we agreed and he said he would get the truck in within a week and to wait for his call. Shockingly for 2 weeks no call, I had to drive to the dealership to get an answer from mike ( keep in mind I live in barrhaven thats 40 mins each way ). Sure enough the body shops to busy and mike said it will be another week or so. Now I’m here typing this on June 13th, over a month from when I took possession of the truck, and still nothings been done. All I’ve been is screwed around, lied to, and taken advantage of from Ottawa dodge. No one will take responsibility for what’s happened. With all that in mind, I just wanted to show people in Ottawa a little taste of what to expect when dealing with Ottawa Dodge! Good luck! More

The staff was helpful without putting any pressure on us throughout the whole experience. They were accommodating and answered any questions we had. We got an excellent trade-in for our vehicle and all fees (which were few) were outlined clearly. We haven't had experience with servicing our vehicle yet, but if/when we do, I hope that experience will be as positive as everything else has been so far. More

The goods: Bought a used Caravan, 1 month ago, which I still like today. No surprise so far. We had Jenna. She has been a very nice person. We leave on the Quebec side. They took care of fixing the safety check findings and licence registration for us. The bads: - Adding a $400 admin fee at contract signing time and expect us to accept it. Ok, you will tell me it is all dealer technics, or I should know better but it pissed me off when we just spent 2 hours together and ready to sign. Please, dealers... include this in your price or tell your customers upfront. - They forgot to tell us there was only 1 car key provided when it costs $500 to get a new one.... - They paid the licence registration on my behalf but did not volunteer to show us the bill. After I asked to see it, I found they gave themselve a $40 tip which they did not tell us upfront. I found this very dishonest. No big deal you will say, but for the principales, I gave them 2 stars and hope to find a dealer I can trust in the future. - Note: After complaints, they took $500ish off this extra $1000ish fee but neverless, I really did not like this situation.
