I was interested in the Impreza model and wanted more information with the price breakdown. I was told I could have found all that information online and that I'm simply wasting his time. His words were insulting and disrespectful. I had to talk to the manager afterwards. I would never go back to this dealership and recommend that no one should waste their time here. A triple negative experience. More

I purchased a used car in May 2016 from Ogilvie Subaru and quickly discovered that it had been in an accident. The dealership concocted a story and claimed they knew nothing about it. After 5 months of hassles, the car being in the shop 3 more times, and a car appraised at half of what I paid, the dealership was still trying to stick to the story that there was no reduced value and that the only work done was "cosmetic". I later got a hold of work orders which proved that they knew all along that the car had been in a "major accident" (plus that the car had required $6000 of repairs to pass the safety in addition to the repairs/body work completed by the leaser who got in the accident). After asking for compensation, the dealership/Mierens Automotive Group's next step was for them to say, essentially, "too bad, you can't prove what that the 6K was spent on anything related to the accident (hence you can't prove that we were required to report it), and, while some people knew about the accident, you can't prove that those you dealt with knew about it". UPDATE - Mierens Group later offered me a replacement car, however, they didn't adhere to our agreement & deceived me on the paperwork, not giving me any credit for 9 months of car payments. In the end, I have a car I don't want (6 cylinder, can't sell it or trade it in without losing money), went through 9 months of hassles/app'ts/lost time from work/grief...& am also down $3000. Also, I should mention that the Mierens Group played good cop/bad cop, with one representative bullying and threatening me. More

He offered to drive it with me after my test drive and showed how it performed on gravel and on dirt which I wouldn't have done myself. He was respectful of me and my opinion and did not try to oversell the car. He accepted my decision to leave and think and bring back my husband with no argument. On pick up day he showed my all the buttons and features and hooked up my Bluetooth. A few last minute wrinkles were ironed out to my satisfaction. Thanks Tyler! More
why is hiring the sales people? Terrible sales people. I don't know why they are there. Manager needs to get his people in check, in the end guy said he was too busy to help me. Neve Terrible sales people. I don't know why they are there. Manager needs to get his people in check, in the end guy said he was too busy to help me. Never experienced such rudeness and disrespect from someone in the service industry. uninterested to help, unprofessional, and I guess not in need of the commission. I don't know if I will give that dealership another chance. More
My preferred Ottawa dealer When shopping for a very lightly used Outback two years ago, we approached both Otto's and Ogilvie. Personally, I found the selling approach at Otto's When shopping for a very lightly used Outback two years ago, we approached both Otto's and Ogilvie. Personally, I found the selling approach at Otto's a bit too lax as the lady we dealt with there seemed so disinterested in selling us a car, and there was little she could tell us about the history of the vehicles. I understand they may not know the complete history but when they can't tell you a single thing it doesn't bode well. Plus the vehicles we tested were all dirty, and she was not willing to negotiate on a price when we pointed out some marks on the body and interior wear. Anyway, it was a very different experience at Ogilvie. The cars were all clean, we didn't get the hard sell, and the guy we dealt with was able to provide some details on the car's history. He was also able to give us a bit of a discount on the list price, and offered an extended warranty at a very reasonable rate. If you're shopping around for a Subaru in Ottawa my suggestion would be to take your time and visit both dealers more than once because they have a lot of stock come through the doors and it's more a matter of finding the right car at the right time... at least when buying used. There was no one to greet me when walking in, so I had to walk all the way to the back to talk to a salesman. My experience with the salesman was less then Zero stars. I told him what I wanted to lease and he did not give me any options and cut me off to give me the highest prices possible. I walked out because i can see that he really was not interested in selling me a car. I compared my experience with ottos and they wanted to know a lot more information and seemed more interested in selling me a car. I eventually went to Toronto to purchase a 2017 WRX and had a 5 star experience there. More

There was no one at the reception desk either. But this one guy Meedo came over and more than made up for it with his friendly and helpful manner. He isn't a salesperson but was great to deal with and managed to somehow pull the exact vehicle I was interested in, out of who-knows-where, so that I could test drive it even though I had just popped in on a night that they were short-staffed. First impressions were very good. Meedo turned me over to Eric Champagne and he was very professional and helpful. My only complaint is that Eric did the old trick that everyone knows car dealers do, which is to rob Peter to pay Paul on the paperwork so that the deal you agreed on evaporates at handshake time, and then hope that the euphoria of buying a new car will make you sign anyway. I ended up not buying the car and, looking at some of the reviews on this site, it may be a blessing in disguise. I feel that Meedo would have been a better guy to deal with, but unfortunately he works in financing and not sales. Eric isn't mentioned anywhere on the website so he's probably new. Update: I received a nice e-mail from Timothy Whelan who said he'd read my review and that, "although it is sometimes difficult to accept criticism, it is the only way to improve, so I thank you." Timothy invited me to come back in to the dealership to allow his team to "earn back your business," which I thought was a very nice gesture. I decided, however, to pay a visit to Ottos Subaru before returning to Ogilvie Subaru and I had such a pleasant experience that I bought my car from Jaques Campeau at Ottos. More

I prepared a full list of features on my trade-in and when their quote came back I was insulted. I could get $3,000 more elsewhere as my car was in pristine condition and low mileage. I was interested in a WRX and was told not until the end of February. I asked about a Legacy and they said one was available the following day for a test drive...they would call...did they? No! I went to another dealer and bought a WRX. More
alignment work First experience with this dealership ... Made an alignment appointment for 9am about 3 weeks in advance and arrived 9am on the dot. Was told that First experience with this dealership ... Made an alignment appointment for 9am about 3 weeks in advance and arrived 9am on the dot. Was told that some 'sales alignments' had come up and they took priority over my appointment and so to expect a 2 hour wait. Didn't feel that this 'prioritization' was respectful of my time as this is a work day for me. Response was that they told me about the extra wait time up front. After waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, booking off time and showing up on time I was not prepared to book another appointment especially if the same thing could happen again then. Further, we have snow expected this weekend and getting an alignment done prior to putting on my winter tires today would be less than optimal. And so what other option did I have at that point but to swallow hard? Client lounge was comfortable but not set up well for folks needing to work while they wait. Not sure about the quality of the alignment itself. Seemed fine. Service person was not the mechanic and wasn't sure of the work done. He read the read-out. Also made a somewhat oblique reference to chance the PDI wasn't done by my purchasing dealership because brake calipers weren't greased. Since the vehicle is over a year old and has been through a Canadian winter and 32k of mileage I didn't think that this observation made any sense. I asked him about the product that needed to be applied to the caliper rails and he didn't have a generic name - mentioned moly-slip. I wasn't aware that moly made a grease suitable for brake parts. He suggested a $190 brake job. No thanks - I'm not paying $190 for applying silicone grease to the caliper rails which will take me about 5 minutes per wheel to brush on. My impression is, and this is only my impression, that the $99 alignment is a loss leader and the idea is to 'look for' other things in order to up-sell. Keith was pleasant enough. Problems expressed above I consider to be 'systemic'. Will not be back. More
I will NOT be back! Went to Ogilvie Subaru 3 weeks ago and it was not a good experience. In order to ask for a sales person I had to wait 5 minutes then finally interrupt Went to Ogilvie Subaru 3 weeks ago and it was not a good experience. In order to ask for a sales person I had to wait 5 minutes then finally interrupt the conversation going on with the three in front of the reception desk. When I finally spoke to a sales person he seemed reluctant or at least less than enthusiastic to take me for a drive. During the test drive I was told to follow a route and soon found out that it did not include any highway driving at all, in spite of being just meters from an on ramp. I was told I could take the turns faster to feel how well the vehicle handled, (I'll decide how fast I want to drive a vehicle I'm not familiar with thank you) plus it's an SUV, if I wanted a car that handled well I'd be looking at a WRX, not an SUV. What I really wanted was to go on the highway to see the level wind and road noise. I asked if there were any incentives for paying cash for the car and was told no, which is fine, but the manner in which it came out was as though my request was unreasonable. They may not care, but they lost a sale that day. I wouldn't expect the service department to be any better than sales so I have decided to go with another brand. More
