Newmarket Toyota - A Woman Scorned by Lies!!! My truck is under extended warranty with 66000km. I recently had the brakes and rotors replaced by my own mechanic who used to be a Toyota mechanic in My truck is under extended warranty with 66000km. I recently had the brakes and rotors replaced by my own mechanic who used to be a Toyota mechanic in South Africa. I have had the truck regularly serviced at Newmarket Toyota and told them last time I was in for my 65000 km regular maintenance that there was an intermittent noise when making sharp right or left turns...they said it was my brakes. After my brakes were replaced, the same noise was persisting so I took it to this Toyota dealer who asked me if I had my brakes done (assuming she was looking at notes on the system from my regular maintenance) I told her yes by my own mechanic. When she called me to pick it up, she said that unfortunately, the noise was coming from the brakes because they were not Toyota brakes! REALLY TOYOTA? The brakes I had installed are same or superior to Toyota brakes. She also admitted on the phone that they were not able to reproduce the noise. I told her that it could not be the brakes because the noise comes whether or not I am engaging the brakes. Doesn't make any sense. So, I didn't mention that I am a woman... When I arrived to pick it up, Paul, the Service Manager was there to explain to me how the problem was in fact my non Toyota brakes even though i wasn't using the brakes and they were not able to hear the noise for themselves. He was condescending and rude in his manner towards me. This is the second time that I am fed a line of BS by this dealership and likely the last time I buy Toyota. My very first visit, I compared regular service prices with a Toyota dealer up north and was told that they reason Newmarket was almost double in price was likely because Midland Toyota only serviced the two front wheels...REALLY??? When I called the head office, they said the service schedule is the service schedule, same for all but did you know that they can charge whatever they want? Shop around but beware of Newmarket Toyota!! More
Bad experience with Newmarket Toyota I've purchased at Newmarket Toyota used two years old Highlander. It was supposed to be 'certified' vehicle. After 16K during the regular brake servic I've purchased at Newmarket Toyota used two years old Highlander. It was supposed to be 'certified' vehicle. After 16K during the regular brake service in other dealership I was told must replace brake pads and rotors because they were on bare minimum and the car was unsafe. I was surprised and asked service adviser to look at car's service history records. The car was maintained in Newmarket dealership all the time and two months before I bought it there was recommendation to replace the brake pads. There was no record that it was done later. I called dealership and talked with service manager Paul who also looked at certificate where it was recorded that brakes were at 50%. At my question how it was possible that only two months before there was recommendation to replace the same brakes, he did not have valid answer. He directed me to talk with sale manager Mike Simons. My conversation with Mike was not so successful, he promised to call me back couple times but did not happen. I had to change the brakes and did not have time to wait Mike's call or go there personally. I've contacted Toyota but they are not interested to investigate the issue, probably they have too many of them. The point is that even when you are buying the vehicle from official dealership don't believe to their 'certificates' (that can be forged such in my case) but invest $100 to check the car in other place and you will not be surprised with $1300 bill after couple of months of driving . I was invited over the phone to visit Newmarket Toyota dealership on October 23/2013 to their 22 minutes sale or deal. I had an appointment at 11:00 am. The person who I talked on the phone to was very po dealership on October 23/2013 to their 22 minutes sale or deal. I had an appointment at 11:00 am. The person who I talked on the phone to was very polite and nice. I have explained to her that I have a lease for another year, but she reassured me it is not a problem, as I will re-lease my new car. I arrived there on time, all happy and excited about possibility of driving a new Rav4. First, they did not find me on the list of appointments for that day ( that took about 5-6 min); than salesperson was asking why I'm here, to what I told him that I was invited to attend a "special" 22 minutes deal. And there it started... Salesman took my ownership and disappear for about 10 min, came back, apologized for a delay, took my car key and disappear for another 15 min. Came back, apologized, and disappear again for10 min. Finally, he came back, ask what car I want, and guess... Disappear again. This time he was back in 5 min, telling me that 36 months lease is impossible, only 48 months, but the price he gave me was even higher that you can see on official website. It was a joke of a visit, and I have wasted of 40-45 min of my time. I just could not find any logic in all that. This is the summary of my visit: 1. I Heard that 36 months lease is impossible at this time; 2. Price is even higher to what I'm paying now; 3. No discount as to returning customer, or loyalty discount 4. Totally waste of time. 5. I can not understand what it was about 22 minutes. What a disappointment! Is it a way to lure customers in? Sincerely, Galina K More
Purchased a New 2012 Camry and they screwed the front plate on crooked. Their solution was, bring it back and we will replace the bumper. Didn’t happen! Toyota wouldn’t cover it (dealerships fault) had t plate on crooked. Their solution was, bring it back and we will replace the bumper. Didn’t happen! Toyota wouldn’t cover it (dealerships fault) had to rent a car for a few days and they filled in the hole and painted the bumper. Jump a-head one year and the paint started peeling. Dropped it off for repair and picked it up 4 days later with 988 added km on it. Manger says he talked to every one there and I must be mistaken. Seriously? Richmond Hill Toyota serviced my care one week earlier showing 646 km less than their recorded mileage on the same day! Toyota doesn’t want to get involved. I’m told that Newmarket and Aurora Toyota are owned by the same person. Shame on you! Very dishonest, untrustworthy and criminal! More
Just sitting in my new 2013 Toyota Matrix with 0% financing for 83 months. I even financed the stereo!!! Dealership did up and above the call of duty and met everyone of my needs. I am very pleased w financing for 83 months. I even financed the stereo!!! Dealership did up and above the call of duty and met everyone of my needs. I am very pleased with the service and the no questions asked or game playing with communications. I had Dave the up and coming star salesman, but anyone of them are fine. I will be dealing with newmarket Toyota exclusively as I have had other experiences with other places. JacK@surferdude.com More
The worst experience in my entire life. The agent, I believe was Andy, was outright rude. We ordered a brand new toyota matrix after a bad car accident. We were still a little rattled, which he knew. believe was Andy, was outright rude. We ordered a brand new toyota matrix after a bad car accident. We were still a little rattled, which he knew. We did not want to spend much money but we wanted cruise control. We picked up the car and when he showed it to us he started showing us how the radio worked. We got frustrated and said goodbye. It wasn't until we reached home that we realized that there was NO cruise control. When we called the dealership back he said that we did not ask for that to be included and said we wanted to buy a new car 'on the cheap'. Since we were looking at several dealerships I had been making notes. We did specify wanting cruise control. He accused my husband and I of LYING!!! I was OUTRAGED! I called the manager back the next day and he too called us a liar and said that since we drove the car off the lot there was nothing he could do. I asked if they could put cruise in now and he told me no. We went to another dealer and they installed after market cruise just fine. I even posted a comment on the toyota website and nobody contacted us. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA PRODUCT AGAIN. We tell everyone we know not to go to this particular dealership. More
I expected a little extra time for my oil change and inspection, but 2 hours was excessive. Quick lube anyone? I'm not sure why they booked so many oil changes for 8:00 am, if I had known that I would b inspection, but 2 hours was excessive. Quick lube anyone? I'm not sure why they booked so many oil changes for 8:00 am, if I had known that I would be 3rd or 4th in line. I would have come at 8:30 or 9:00. More
I went shopping for a used vehicle and found their online pricing very competitive. Negotiated most of the deal over emails, and settled on the phone. Then when I went to pay and pick up the vehicle, they ha pricing very competitive. Negotiated most of the deal over emails, and settled on the phone. Then when I went to pay and pick up the vehicle, they had slapped a sizeable admin fee on, which was not disclosed at anytime during the process. Since the vehicle was so hard to find, I did not cancel the deal. Tried to communicate with the sales manager to voice my displeasure...no response. Will never set foot in that place again. More
Went into the dealership looking for a brand new Highlander Hybrid. Tested drove it and went into the office to negotiate the price. Mike wanted to deal with the trade-in value first. Then it all st Highlander Hybrid. Tested drove it and went into the office to negotiate the price. Mike wanted to deal with the trade-in value first. Then it all started to go down hill. Apparently for 20 years in the car business the guy never even heard or seen a Subaru STi. Then Mike proceeded to call people to get quotes for the Subaru, meanwhile, people in the dealership kept on interrupting and coming into the office and it's obvious that Mike was dealing with multiple customer at the same time. Eventually Mike get some quotes from his contacts and GREAT NEWS he wants to give me $20000 for a $30000 car. I said no and stood up to leave then he asked me what I wanted pay for the hybrid. I said $49000 for a car with a MSRP of $52000. Then the guy started to lecture me using a condescending tone about my apparent young age and how he's been in the business of low balling people for 20 yrs. So I asked for my ownership (of the subaru) back and took off. Then Mike called me and said "I took" the wrong ownership with me, the one that he had handed to me when I was ready to walk out of the dealership. I called back and asked him how he wanted to deal with this situation. He said I need to go back there. It's a 130km around trip for me, and I just got home. So I told him there's noway I'm going back there, I offered to mail it, fax it, etc. He asked me when I'm going back. I said NEVER. I said maybe he can come to my home and pick it up. I thought that's as reasonable/ridiculous of a suggestion as his when he asked me to go back there. He didn't respond to any of my offers to return the ownership and just said they will "deal with it". Then we both hung up. I walked into the dealership expecting to negotiate. I understood that dealership has to make SOMETHING. But after Mike low balled my trade-ins, then gets upset about my offer, then demands I return to the dealership after HE messed up and gave me the wrong ownership/vehicle permit because he was dealing with multiple customers at the same time, I can only list all the facts to show how terrible this experience is for anyone having to deal with him. Mike Simon is one of the Sales Manager there, so I think this experience is a pretty good representation of this dealership's attitude towards their potential customers. More
