My son was the victim of a person who ran a red light and totalled his car. Insurance gave him enough to get something but not the shiny CRV he had. After much deliberation he decided to try VW. He test drove a used Golf at the dealership in Erin Mills. The salesman from the start, was full of double talk. “We recommend an extended warranty, but you don’t need one with this car.” as an example. He claimed to be doing us a big favour by honouring the online price, as he should be charging us an admin fee. When I asked what for, he said “Because the price you saw was online only.” so I have to assume the stepping into the dealership would have cost us an extra of close to $600. I told my son that he didn’t need to see the salesman again, just get the car you want. We got the online price minus roughly $150 and the salesman said, “We’ll add a tank of gas.” Deal done. Today we went to pick up the car. My son signed the papers and out we went. The salesman then said “Don’t blame me if there’s no gas in there, that is their decision.” as he pointed into the dealership. Both my son and I immediately said that he promised a tank of gas. He then offered the following explanations, and I quote; “Let me see your bill of sale, nowhere does it say tank of gas and I gave you $150 (aprox) off.” “This isn’t my fault.” “I gave you the online price, you can’t have both.” It just got worse and worse. I was furious with his lack of empathy, or honour for what he promised and also, because he ripped off my son by trying to play games. My son was so upset, buying a new car and having it end like that. How do I ever trust VW again? I will most certainly spread the word of this to everyone I know. Amazingly I just bought a second hand Volvo on the online price, in the dealership and they never once tried to mess with the numbers like that. They cared about their new customer. It’s crazy because in reality, what isa tank of gas in a Golf? $80? But this dealership was willing to hurt my son and upset me over it. He was rude and manipulative. I will make a fuss about this, not because of the amount but because it makes me doubt the integrity of VW and I feel like I should let people I care about and even those I don’t, know. More

Absolutely the worst service I have experienced from a car dealership. My experience was with the service department; - all calls go unanswered and you're forced to leave a voicemail, but nobody returns car dealership. My experience was with the service department; - all calls go unanswered and you're forced to leave a voicemail, but nobody returns your call. - promises on repair time are not met. Always having to leave your car for an additional day. Again, nobody calls to ask or explain why. You have to chase them down which is time consuming since nobody returns calls. - even when you leave your car for two days, the total repair list isn't completed. You will be asked to make another appointment to complete the work. You have to accommodate the dealership. Your time or other commitments don't matter. - just try to get through the receptionist to request to speak to the General Manager or Service Manger. The receptionist will block you by insisting you leave a message with her and when you insist to be transferred she will speak over you and will not comply. - promise to wash your car doesn't happen after servicing the car. - service advisors are not properly trained to address mechanical issues and will rely on you to dictate what to write on the work order. They appear confused on understanding what is wrong with the vehicle. Conclusion: Find another VW dealership who is willing to earn your business since Mississauga VW has clearly confirmed they are not capable (or just don't care) to keep a customer coming back. More
