Even though the car came with the wrong wheels from the factory, Ken spearheaded the efforts to get this resolved and we are more than impressed with the way Laird Wheaton took care of us. This is the second time I've taken someone on a drive to hear this noise in the last few months. Each time, my car decided not to act up. This time, however, the gentleman driving my car felt that he had a good idea of the problem based on his knowledge of the vehicle, and since my PT warranty is up this Thursday, he decided to just run with it and get the work done under warranty. It would be an expensive fix if the part decided to completely fall apart in the future. So thank you, service man whose name I cannot recall. To date, I've had nothing but positive experiences with the dealership and their customer service. And I'm kinda digging the snazzy Buick Regal rental I got under warranty too😉 More

I had a brand new vehicle only to have it break down 12 hours later and get absolutly nothing from this dealership. The reviews on Facebook are similar to my experience. Wish I checked that out before and just went to Duncan. More

Brought it in for a detail, left with a broken seat motor I recently brought my vehicle in for a salt & grime removal detailing (purchased off of Island Daily Deals). While it was in their possession, the hydraulic seat motor was broken. It was working before the detail and it was broken in pieces when I picked it up. The motor was hanging out from under the seat and we found a part from it wrapped up in a napkin in our center console. They are not only refusing to take any responsibility, they were quite rude about it and actually blamed ME. They also wanted me pay to have it repaired. And their excuse? They just don't think one of their employees would do something like this. So, BUYER BEWARE! If you bring your vehicle to Lair Wheaton GM in Nanaimo, be prepared leave with something broken that you will have to put up the cash to fix. LAIRD WHEATON GM, you should be ashamed of your sleazy customer service. More
Oil change When I dropped my vehicle off for service I was told to come back in 2 hours and it will be ready. 2 hours later when I returned, I was told it hadn' When I dropped my vehicle off for service I was told to come back in 2 hours and it will be ready. 2 hours later when I returned, I was told it hadn't even entered the shop. This was not a case of them being really busy as I overheard the technician asking the service advisor what he had for him to do. Thee service advisor was unorganized. I was then told "we can put a rush on it, it'll be ready in 45 min" Meanwhile I'm thinking if it can be done in 45 min, why did I just wait 2 hours. Despite the fact that I just bought this new truck at that dealer 1 year ago, I will not return to them. This is the second time I've experienced poor customer service in the service dept. More
We had trouble with our 2000 Sunfire starting. Had it to another repair shop and they checked codes and replaced a crankcase sensor. Still had the problem. The Sunfire only has 110,000 kms on it, and has another repair shop and they checked codes and replaced a crankcase sensor. Still had the problem. The Sunfire only has 110,000 kms on it, and has been extremely reliable. finally took it to Laird Wheaton in Nanaimo on Monday at 4pm. They phoned me at home about 530 pm and stated that the starter was the problem, and not the expensive computer problems that the previous garage thought.. They replaced the starter, and I picked up the vehicle at 7pm. (they have a late shift of mechanics that work until 11pm). Problem solved, with a very reasonable bill. Their rates are very fair, and keep the repair costs reasonable. Bruce Frey More
The Laird Wheaton GM Service Department falsified a Provincial Inspection (BC) and attempted to extort unnecessary repairs of our vehicle to the tune of approximately $4,000. A second inspection with Provincial Inspection (BC) and attempted to extort unnecessary repairs of our vehicle to the tune of approximately $4,000. A second inspection with another Provincial Inspection facility found no issues with the suspension/steering of our Chevy truck. Finally, a third inspection of the truck, unwittingly by Laird Wheaton GM, also confirmed no issues with the suspension/steering. The Dealership refuses to discuss our concerns or even answer simple questions. More
