Dishonest Dealing I didn't feel great about buying used from a dealer, and my recent experience confirmed it. I'll never go there again. There's always the pressure, of I didn't feel great about buying used from a dealer, and my recent experience confirmed it. I'll never go there again. There's always the pressure, of course, and the "somebody else is looking at it right now". I dickered, then brought in an experienced friend who helped me get a better deal. Put my deposit down. Came in -- by bus from Vanier, 3 hours out of my day -- to find that the agreed-upon deal had been altered. Should've gotten it in writing, yes, but I trusted a deal made verbally in front of two witnesses (1 salesman, 1 friend). They didn't resist my demand for a refund, but that's because they had *another* sucker on the hook for a bit more profit margin. Two deals at once, and they sabotaged the one that was a) done first, but b) cost them a bit more. (Maybe.) Dishonorable. And really stupid, long-term, but maybe there are enough naive people that they don't care. P.T. Barnum as car dealership: "There's a sucker born every minute." This is how Kanata Honda appears to operate, and maybe that's par for the course. Pretty xxxxty course! More

This time the alarm on my vehicle started suddenly and every 20-30 minutes I had to shut it off. Monday I brought the vehicle to this dealer and until now (Thursday) they were not able to fix it. Lack of professionalism and support toward the customer's expectations. Be aware! Stay away from this dealer, you'll make yourself a huge favor. More

Initia This dealership is really nice until they get your money they simply do not care to keep their customers happy, I bought a Honda Civic 2012 LX. Initially, when i saw the car, there was no dent on the front door but when i went to pick up the car, there was a dent. they did not agree on this and argued. So I wont suggest anybody to buy anything from this dealership. More
Honda Civic 2012 LX I have never seen a worse dealership in my life. First I went in to their store all ready to buy a used civic (I had done some research on the Internet earlier). No one came to receive me or even talk to me for 30 mins after which I got frustrated and left. Later on I tried again the same day in the evening. This time after waiting for 20 mins I went and talked to the manager. He called some salesman and asked him to help me. I already knew which car I wanted and so went ahead and negotiated my price. I went 3 days later to pick up the car only to find it was badly damaged (a big dent on the right door panel). I immediately brought this to their attention. They said I need to talk to their manager. The manager is one of the most nasty fellows I have ever dealt with. He said that since I have already paid the deposit, I have already purchased the car. Either I pay the entire remaining price and take the car as is or I loose the deposit and go home empty handed. He got very hostile to the point of throwing me out. Anyways I opted for the former and went home with a dented and ugly looking car. I had to cough up $800 later on for repairing the dent. More
Lost Customer and Lost Sale I went to Kanata Honda and was ready to pay cash for a 2016 Honda Accord v6 with all the bells and whistles. This would have been my third new car fr I went to Kanata Honda and was ready to pay cash for a 2016 Honda Accord v6 with all the bells and whistles. This would have been my third new car from this dealership. I stood around for about 30 minutes but all of the salespeople were busy. After much effort, I was given an appointment to return the next day at 11:45 am to see the salesman I had purchased from before (both my son and I clearly understood this time). We got there precisely on time, but the salesman was busy with another customer. He suggested while we wait to go outside to look at the vehicles on the lot. We came back in at 12:15 pm and he was still busy. We waited around the showroom for another 15 minutes, and still no luck so we left. When I eMailed Kanata Honda to complain, I don't even get so much as an apology, just a sarcastic email from the salesman telling me the appointment had been for 12:15 (which it wasn't), how the salesman has the best customer service at the dealership, and how customers often show up late and throw off the whole day, etc, etc. When a customer has spent $70,000 at this dealership and is about to spend another $40,000 more, I would expect that the customer service will be somewhat better than Walmart. Unfortunately, the sales customer service at Kanata Honda falls far short. More
B1 maintenance excessive charge Be aware of the excessive cost at this dealer: I have a 2014 Honda Civic lease and would like to know why the upcoming maintenance schedul Be aware of the excessive cost at this dealer: I have a 2014 Honda Civic lease and would like to know why the upcoming maintenance schedule B1 is so expensive? Most of the job is just inspection which is more visual and I am not sure if is worth it $194 (as per Honda website). This vehicle is almost a year old and still under warranty, therefore this schedule is far more excessive. My vehicle was in service this year on May 1st for maintenance – tire rotation, oil change, filter, etc and I paid $101.41, so within 4 months it has to be repeated? And pay more? It doesn’t make sense at all. When I leased the vehicle the Honda rep assured me that all Honda vehicles have synthetic oil, therefore the service schedule shouldn’t be that often. If Honda charge that much then I’ll have to change the service to another supplier as I will not pay that much for a vehicle 1 year old under warranty. If you do the math then it will be $101.41 (May 2015)+ $193.88 (October 2nd service scheduled) = $295.29 which I find it unacceptable for 1 year old vehicle under warranty. The B1 service is scheduled for October 2nd but I am thinking seriously to cancel it and go to another garage. By the way is cancelled already. P.S. I had more negative experiences in the past 5 years at Kanata Honda so my advise is to find a better service at a decent cost somewhere else. You'll do yourself a huge service. More

INCOMPITENT MECHANICS Brought my car in to be serviced and was told that I needed a tire rotation and oil change....When I went to pay for my service they informed me that Brought my car in to be serviced and was told that I needed a tire rotation and oil change....When I went to pay for my service they informed me that my tires didn't need to be rotated, which I thought was kinda odd since they were the ones who recommended it in the first place...Well I payed the bill and the next day I could hear a funny noise in the passenger front side so my husband took a look and noticed that my wheel was almost falling off and a stud was missing and checked the rear and the it was the same. The drivers side was fine which indicates that they tried to remove wheel and broke the stud!!So this is why they never roatated the wheels because the mechanic stripped the stud and broke it and because it is a big job to replace that he just tightened them and forget to torque them!!I was with my 3 small children and had that wheel come off on the highway it coukd of killed us and possibly someone else...shane on you Kanata Honda...didn't realize business is that bad that you would risk someone's life to save a BUCK!! DON'T BUY USED HONDA CARS HERE! Be careful when purchasing a used vehicle. The car we bought did pass safety, but other important maintenance issues were not fully disclosed, or addressed. First, I must say that their staff is very nice and courteous...I have no complaints there. Being a used car, they did identify a few issues that I may need to address in the future...which is normal. But the estimate they gave me was not accurate. Going back to my local Honda dealer, the issues were much greater and twice the price that Kanata Honda estimated. The trend seems to be like "Well it's not a Honda Certified car, but it is Safety Certified, so it's normal that you may have issues and need to address them down the line, and our mechanics may have missed some!" Not sure what kind of response that is... I know I am buying a used car, but don't give me a special deal if it leaks oil, needs new brakes, has squealing engine noise, and other issues that no one seems to be aware of. I say that every single used Honda vehicle should be Honda Certified, even if that brings up the price by several hundred dollars. These Honda dealers should not be portrayed as the corner 'mom and pop shop used cars". I wouldn't want Honda dealers to get a bad used car sales reputation...I think this would definitely hurt their reputable new sales. This was my first used car purchase and likely my last! I may have been naive, a bit ignorant and too trusting...but I think used vehicles should have a full thorough check and all issues should be disclosed to the buyer, regardless of passing a "Safety Check", and especially coming from a Honda dealer. I don't blame the sales team or the finance team...they were great...but I do blame management policies on the way they try to offload their used vehicles. More
