INCOMPITENT MECHANICS Brought my car in to be serviced and was told that I needed a tire rotation and oil change....When I went to pay for my service they informed me that Brought my car in to be serviced and was told that I needed a tire rotation and oil change....When I went to pay for my service they informed me that my tires didn't need to be rotated, which I thought was kinda odd since they were the ones who recommended it in the first place...Well I payed the bill and the next day I could hear a funny noise in the passenger front side so my husband took a look and noticed that my wheel was almost falling off and a stud was missing and checked the rear and the it was the same. The drivers side was fine which indicates that they tried to remove wheel and broke the stud!!So this is why they never roatated the wheels because the mechanic stripped the stud and broke it and because it is a big job to replace that he just tightened them and forget to torque them!!I was with my 3 small children and had that wheel come off on the highway it coukd of killed us and possibly someone else...shane on you Kanata Honda...didn't realize business is that bad that you would risk someone's life to save a BUCK!! The car we bought did pass safety, but other important maintenance issues were not fully disclosed, or addressed. First, I must say that their staff is very nice and courteous...I have no complaints there. Being a used car, they did identify a few issues that I may need to address in the future...which is normal. But the estimate they gave me was not accurate. Going back to my local Honda dealer, the issues were much greater and twice the price that Kanata Honda estimated. The trend seems to be like "Well it's not a Honda Certified car, but it is Safety Certified, so it's normal that you may have issues and need to address them down the line, and our mechanics may have missed some!" Not sure what kind of response that is... I know I am buying a used car, but don't give me a special deal if it leaks oil, needs new brakes, has squealing engine noise, and other issues that no one seems to be aware of. I say that every single used Honda vehicle should be Honda Certified, even if that brings up the price by several hundred dollars. These Honda dealers should not be portrayed as the corner 'mom and pop shop used cars". I wouldn't want Honda dealers to get a bad used car sales reputation...I think this would definitely hurt their reputable new sales. This was my first used car purchase and likely my last! I may have been naive, a bit ignorant and too trusting...but I think used vehicles should have a full thorough check and all issues should be disclosed to the buyer, regardless of passing a "Safety Check", and especially coming from a Honda dealer. I don't blame the sales team or the finance team...they were great...but I do blame management policies on the way they try to offload their used vehicles. More

From the start of the transaction to the end of the sale…He made sure that we were offered with the best possible deal and I'm very excited about this vehicle and hope to have it for a very long time! Thanks Ken for being very professional and getting us the car within the time we were in Ottawa…now that's truly a great "customer experience"! C. Nadeau More
Walked in ready to buy and they blew it I can't give a detailed review, because the staff never bothered to approach me. Very bad experience Stay away from them. went for Ontario safety certificate of an almost new SUV, they said it would fail for a bad right from tie rods. I requested the original part and had it inspected somewhere else and two experienced mechanics confirmed I was ripped off. Hated my experience with this dealer, will never go back. More
This dealership is really nice until they get your money they simply do not care to keep their customers happy,I really don't know what the future will hold for this dealership because the customer service they simply do not care to keep their customers happy,I really don't know what the future will hold for this dealership because the customer service really sucks!!I bought a ridgeline in September 2013, I got a huge crack from the molding of the windshield, I took it to a bodyshop and they stated that it was from body flex.I did some research online and apparently they have had these issues with this particular model, so I brought to Kanata Honda and they wouldn't honor the warranty and told me it was from a stone chip.....there is no stone chip at all it's all smooth and why would a certified body man tell us it was body flex??They could have made us happy and replaced the windshield as they should have because there is no stone chip and it is a DEFECT but instead they argued with us and lost a customer!!It's a shame!! Not impressed with Kanata Honda. My husband and I both drive high end Hondas for the past 8 years and I guess Kanata Honda does not value this. My 2012 Honda Odyssey Touring rear view windshield shatt drive high end Hondas for the past 8 years and I guess Kanata Honda does not value this. My 2012 Honda Odyssey Touring rear view windshield shattered over the weekend for absolutely no apparent reason. All I did was start the van, popped the trunk and it shattered. There was no sign of previous knicks or anything nearby the van. We were shocked. A lot of literature on the web points to similar problems - window shattering for no apparent reason. Many of these people obtained coverage from Honda. Kanata Honda provided me with a quote and directed me to the service line for Honda Canada for coverage. The lady at Honda Canada was very nice and said it's still under warranty but said she needed to contact the dealer first. When she contacted Kanata Honda she was told that something went through the rear view windshield. This is not a true fact and i don't know why the service person would have said this, he didn't even inspect the van. He had know way of knowing this other then his assumption. In the end, Honda Canada will not cover the replacement because they take the word from the dealer rather than the customer. Which is very unfortunate as they have lost two very good customers. And word of mouth goes a long way. More
Brought my car in for the scheduled maintenance and tire changed (winters to summers) and went with the maintenance package they suggested. Had to drop my car off early around 7am and was told I would recei changed (winters to summers) and went with the maintenance package they suggested. Had to drop my car off early around 7am and was told I would receive a call before my car went in for work. After not having received a call I had to get in touch with them to assure me that the work was already being done. Later I received another call stating that the car was missing a part. I was not informed which part or how much it would cost, the service advisor spoke in terms no average person could understand. They told me they would need my car overnight and that I could pick it up the next day. I received another call a couple hours later saying that the car was instead finished that day and that I had less than an hour to pick it up or they would be closing. Upon picking up the car and paying the $800 bill for the maintenance plus the new parts I left, only to find that the car was shaking at high speeds, something to do with the tire rotation that went unchecked. After discovering the cause was the tire balance I called back assuming that this would have been included in the maintenance I had done. The service advisor told that although it was regular maintenance, that it was not included in the regular maintenance I had paid $800 for, but they'd be happy to do it for $100+ if I wanted. Unsatisfied with this, I went into the dealership to discuss with someone face-to-face how a simple thing like tire balancing wouldn't have been included. After explaining it, the advisor agreed and said that they would do it for free. Thus, I brought my car in and only then after they already taken the car the advisor explained that they would do the work and test the car and only if the test proved if was their fault would it be free. So I had to have the work done then gamble on their 'test'. As expected, after the work was already done I received a call explaining that the imbalance couldn't have been their fault and so I'd have to pay for the work done, and that since the work was already done I had no choice. In the end, I returned and had no choice but to pay the bill and left, vowing never to return. I answered the e-mail survey they sent me a few days after and wrote my whole story (as I did here), and never received a return phone call or e-mail. Needless to say I will find somewhere else to have my work done. I would advise anyone else to do the same. More
My car broke down and was towed to the dealer. They made time for my vehicle, ordered parts, and had it back to me in time for a trip I was about to take. (Two days.) The final bill was slightly higher than time for my vehicle, ordered parts, and had it back to me in time for a trip I was about to take. (Two days.) The final bill was slightly higher than the quote, so they adjusted my bill down to the quoted amount. I made a few inquiry calls during the repair process and was always responded to curtiously. I find the rates at the dealership to be reasonable and I never have a problem with the work. More
