Frustrating and can't help but feel taken advantage of Despite purchasing my vehicle from a Ford dealership in Cochrane, as I live in Edmonton, I came to Freedom Ford since I've brought my parents 2012 For Despite purchasing my vehicle from a Ford dealership in Cochrane, as I live in Edmonton, I came to Freedom Ford since I've brought my parents 2012 Ford Focus in for servicing there before. I had originally scheduled a service at the recommended mileage amount along with putting on new winter tires. The original service was great and a fair amount. However, I had requested a diagnostic to find out why my driver's side door ajar message kept flashing (The message would come on almost every time I entered the vehicle and turned it on. After starting the vehicle it would sound to advise that my door was ajar, to place it in park and to close the door.) despite the door being closed properly. I was told that the diagnostic would cost approx. $170 and if they found out what was wrong, parts and labour. I agreed. After my servicing and diagnostic, they said the door ajar light did not come on when inspected and their solution was to grease up the door latch but they only charged me $75 instead of the full diagnostic cost to do so. And I went on my way. A couple of days later, the door ajar message kept coming up and I decided to ignore it as best I could. Within the week, I realized that my car alarm would randomly go off, while I was parked and the car was off. This occurred at any time of the day/night, so I called Freedom Ford about the issue and they told me to come in that day, which I was unable to do due to scheduling. I made an appointment to get this checked out a couple of days later. Blair was helping me out, as the last gentleman that assisted me less than 2 weeks ago no longer works there. He said it would be another $170 diagnostic cost and parts and labour. I felt like I had to agree to the service or the issue would not have been looked at, despite the fact that this only started occurring after the initial diagnostic about the same issue. Blair said there were no notes on my last visit regarding the door ajar diagnostic, again quite frustrating. Blair said they'd let me know within 2-3 hours what was happening with my car and I got a shuttle home. 5 hours later, they contact me when I was working with clients and I was not respond until an hour later. Luckily Blair was still working after hours, he explained that there was a technical issue with the door latch that was setting off the alarm and that the total cost would be $800 all in. I was in shock to hear the cost of this and frustrated that this was not noted in my previous diagnostic or acknowledged that this issue was caused by initially looking at this item. I told them to proceed with the work as I don't want my alarm to continually go off at random times of the day/night. I was told that my car would be ready by 10-11 am. No word until after I called after 11 am, they noted that my car was not in queue but would be looked at right away and a shuttle would be sent for me. I wasn't able to pick up my car until the afternoon. I'm not happy with the time that it took and I let Blair know that I would not be paying for the diagnostic, they only credited me for the amount charged initially ($75). I've let my family and friends know, and my parents provided me with information from Ford regarding a recall on a door latch for their 2012 Ford Focus regarding the same door ajar message. I'm wondering if this could have also been the issue with my 2012 Ford Edge. Please provide an update. I will likely not be going back to Freedom Ford for any future service. I was hoping it would be convenient and the service department would look out for honest clients. I've also advised my parents to not take their vehicle for servicing there as well. I'll either be going back to Cochrane for servicing, despite the drive, as I feel their customer service goes above and beyond. Or I will be contacting my father-in-law who is a Ford Mechanic in SK for all future issues. The only good thing I can say is the friendliness of the staff and shuttle drivers but I do feel that my patience, friendliness and my lack of knowledge when it comes to anything vehicle related was taken advantage of. Disappointing. More

I work out of town and the days of work I had to miss to pick up my vehicle on these so called promised dates cost me over $1000.00. Then to top it off my vehicle wasales not detailed ithe was not fueled up it still had factory stickers on it and I didn't drive it away until 8pm...........so 2 months go by and I make very decent money I figure my girlfriend needs a new vehicle and I'll get a $500 referral cheque for another sale though freedom ford!.......umbrella WRONG!!! I was informed that they forget to take a down payment from me and they were holding my referral bonus hostage. I thought you know what whatever keep your 500 we square.....so we purchased the 2017 ford explorer......lol....lol A WEEK AFTER....freedom ford calls us......they xxxxed up the term of the loan and ford credit Canada cannot approve the term that we already signed for plus all the extras we added on soooo back in we go to sign papers again. My advice is to never use freedom ford. I hear very good things about heartland ford.that's where I'll be going when I'm ready for a trade... More

Really friendly staff. Freedom Ford has been a dream experience. If something is not right they fix it right away. never once did we feel pushed into buying. Regular Maintenance I purchased and have been taking my vehicle to this dealership since new. We purchased the maintenance program. I have had a few issues over the yea I purchased and have been taking my vehicle to this dealership since new. We purchased the maintenance program. I have had a few issues over the years and found that when you made phone calls on service and I mentioned the issues you made promises such as we would give you free car washes since we cannot give you a free oil change. The problem is there was never any follow through with the free car washes The most recent visit had two issues: 1) I told the service advisor that I thought I had a slow leak in my tire. When he called back he said I had a screw and that the tire had been repaired before. The tire had never been repaired before (which he indicated when I picked up the car). 2) I asked for a shuttle ride to pick me up between 1:30pm and 2:00pm. At 2:20pm I called and it was then realized by the service advisor that my request got lost or was never put in (they did not tell me) so no one was on the way. If I had not phoned to check I would never have received a ride. More
