Hello Leo, After reading your review I did a bit of investigating with the service department as to what happened here. Your review makes it sound like there was some outrageous labour amount involved in this repair. It turns out that the labour book-value for the replacement of that part is only a 1/2 hour which is all that was included for this repair. The cost of the Ford part itself, including a 2-year warranty, is over $530. Obviously, a jobber part without warranty will be less expensive. It's great that you were able to replace the part yourself. Perhaps the explanation you received about the cost of the part and labour was not as clear as it could have been. However, it seems a little unfair to label the service department as crooks because of what they charge to use a warrantied Ford part. Ok I apologize for the rant I was pretty upset but I gave the diognoses paperwork that your service department gave me directly to your parts department and they gave me the part listed and it was approx $135. We installed ourselves and my 4+4 shift on the fly worked great after install so not sure where the $500 part you speak of comes from but it was oveasly the wrong diognoses

Sorry I assume the part listed was right because the parts guy at Ford gave me the part listed on your service people's paperwork but had I have gone ahead with your service department install it it would have costed me $500 +

We always appreciate getting feedback from our customers. Even negative reviews provide us with an opportunity to improve our processes. As to the contention that no explanation of the damage to the engine was provided, here is a copy and paste from the work order provided to the customer: INSPECTED FOR NO START. ENGINE CRANKS BUT WON'T FIRE. FOUND COOLANT BOTTLE EMPTY. PULLED ENGINE DIPSTICK AND FOUND COOLANT IN THE OIL. NEED TO DO COMPRESSION TEST AND CYLINDER LEAKAGE TEST TO FIND HOW COOLANT IS GETTING INTO ENGINE. REMOVED UPPER INTAKE TO ACCESS REAR SPARK PLUGS. REMOVED SPARK PLUGS AND PERFORMED COMPRESSION TEST. FOUND FRT 3 CYLINDERS ALL @ 0 PSI. LOOKED DOWN LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD AT INTAKE VALVES WHILE CRANKING ENGINE OVER AND FOUND INTAKE VALVES NOT MOVING. REMOVED FRT VALVE COVER AND FOUND TIMING CHAIN BROKEN. The diagnosis appears to be thorough and the explanation clear. It is understandably frustrating when something like a an engine failure happens. Unfortunately, there is a cost to perform this work. Regarding the tow truck driver's complaints, there was a miscommunication and the technician was not told to reassemble the parts in time for the car to be towed. For this we do apologize.
