Ladies listen here!! I 'm a white collar health care professional woman, who wanted a truck! No problem in my hometown, b/c there's a dodge dealership right? WRONG! They wouldn't 'talk about the truck' I really wanted, I needed to be pre-approved on a demo truck, just to test drive it on the highway, wasn't allowed to put kms on their said 'demo' (clarify the meaning of demo for me??) and was told to 'go out and fall in love' with the truck they did give me. Forget it! I dropped into Blaikies on a trip home from Halifax Nov 2013, on the advice of several patients who had wonderful experiences with the dealership. I had inquired on a truck there in Sept 2013, and within an hour, a gentleman named Bill had left a message for me; so I thought it couldn't hurt. I decided to give this 'Bill' a chance. What a Blessing! Upon meeting Bill in Nov 2013 (who didn't know me at all!), there was no stereotypical, 'you'll look good in that' or , 'what colour where you thinking of' or ' what does your husband/boyfriend think'? It was down to business; about what I wanted, how he was going to get it, and within the price I wanted! So after begging and pleading for 2.5 months just to test drive a truck, I didn't even want in my home town, I had a deal for the exact truck I wanted, under 16 hours of meeting Bill! I can't thank Blaikies and Bill enough! I love my 2014 Ram Sport (black of course!) Everyone from Colin, Erik, and the parts department who I'm completely loyal too; and especially my 'Bill' .... you made me feel like a person; rather than a silly woman thinking she wanted a truck. You'll never know just how much your professionalism meant to me! For you ladies wanting a truck or any vehicle for that matter, .....he didn't even ask me if I NEEDED a back up camera!!! Most definitely the best buying experience we've had in our lives.. We're from Newfoundland and had a bad experience with our local Jeep dealer in St. John's on Peet Street, so we decided to try looking in Nova Scotia for the Vehicle we wanted. Sure enough, Blaikies had it! We made arrangements to fly to Halifax and then drive out to Truro to get this fantastic vehicle. 3 days before: I sent a few e-mails back and forth one morning with Drew Dobson and he ensured me the vehicle we wanted down to every single specification was the one he had available. He mapped out all the details, price, payment options, sent pictures, etc and made everything crystal clear. I then dealt with Colin Nickerson later that day via e-mail and then on the phone for the financing/insurance aspect of the purchase and that was also quick, efficient and pain free. Felt 100% confident through each stage of the purchase. The day of purchase: My wife and I flew up to Halifax from St. John's. Blaikies had arranged a rental vehicle for us at no cost to get from the Airport out to Truro as it's a 40 minute drive. Upon arrival, we met both Drew and Colin and they were both fantastic in person. Showed us the vehicle, pointed out all the features once again and then signed the official papers to compete the sale. We were in and out in 45 minutes. Thanks guys! Keep up the incredible service and you might even get our next vehicle sale, even if we need to fly up again and drive it back! :) More

It was just as they were getting ready to close so that everyone could The first time I walked into Blaikies was the Saturday of Easter weekend 2014. It was just as they were getting ready to close so that everyone could go home and spend time with there families. Instead of ignoring me or trying to hustle me out the door they took there time and stayed an extra 20-25 minutes, introduced me to Gina, answered my questions, got me brochure on vehicles I was considering, and invited me to come back later in the week to talk to Gina. It was at that moment I knew I was going to be staying in Truro to buy my SUV instead of going to look in Halifax or New Glasgow. I went in the following Tuesday, no appointment and nearing closing time again, sat down and talked to Gina about what I wanted in a vehicle. It was the best experience I have ever had talking to a car sales person, she actually listened to what I wanted. I never got that hard sales pitch on a vehicle and there was no pressure. She managed to match me up with the perfect vehicle for me and in the price range I wanted to be at. She could have tried to up sell me into something more expensive but like I said she listened to me and helped me decide on the 2013 Dodge Journey SXT Blacktop Edition. With that SUV she actually helped me save money instead. What kind of sales person does that? It really felt like she just wanted me to have the perfect experience when it came to buying my vehicle instead of trying to make as much money off me as she could. The whole process took about 3 weeks as I was getting everything in place to make the purchase. During that time I never once got that phone call about what was taking so long or trying to pressure me into getting it before I was ready. I don't know how many phone calls, emails and texts I sent her during that time with questions but I always got a quick reply with what I needed to know. There were even times I sent emails at like 9 pm, long after they closed, that she responded to them. If you ever need a new vehicle the first stop you should make is Blaikies in Truro. I am really not the type of person who rights reviews but I just had to make an exception in this case. The entire staff at Blaikies are incredible people to deal with and because of the extremely high quality of service I received from everyone there I have no doubt that I will be a customer for life.
