My experience overall was very positive; I had just moved to Truro and ruined the front end of my 2010 Jeep in a pothole and thus was introduced to the Blaikies service team, who I cannot praise enough. As a More

Blaikies Dodge Chrysler Limited responded

We are a Certified DealerRater dealer because we care what our customs think. We hope that everyone who takes delivery of a new or used vehicle from us will post a review and share their experiences with all who may read the post, good or bad. We hope that the reviews our customers post will give potential customers an idea of what they can expect when they do business with us. We ask for open and honest reviews from our customers. Your review may be open but it certainly is not honest. It was your father that called me (Erik Muckle) and told me that on the day you pulled into work with smoke coming out from the hood, the Weston Push Bar was hanging off the front of your truck. It was broken long before it went on a tow truck and long before your truck arrived at our store. You, your father and I all know this to be true so I ask that you correct this in your review. No one suggested that you drive it here. It was suggested that you contact RoadSide Assistance to have the truck brought in. Your father told me that you had to have another vehicle brought to you. I have no one that can just run out t o Tatamagouche from Truro (I explained this to him) and even if we had dropped a rental, we still needed to get your truck here and our driver back. After some time we convinced and paid the tow truck driver from RoadSide Assistance to come to our store, learn how to complete a rental agreement, take the rental truck to you and bring your truck back here. The truck we brought you did not have a "smashed in front" as you say. Your father called our service "laughable", when in fact we went above and beyond to make sure a long time Blaikies customer was looked after. You missed this in your review. When we had the opportunity to inspect your push bar it became evident that something had been tied around it as the horizontal bar was scored and scuffed. When we looked at the mounts that had been broken on the push bar it was obvious that they were caused by something pulling on the bar based on the angle of the breaks. When we put the truck on a hoist to see what may be the cause of the smoke under the hood, we found mud on top of the exhaust and caked into places you would not get mud if all you were doing was driving on a dirt road. The mud had grass/straw in it which we typically only see when we get a vehicle in our Collision Centre that has been involved in an incident that has had it off the road, in a ditch or otherwise in mud. Only you know what really happened here but I am confident that we had nothing to do with it. Perhaps you would like to reconsider your version of the story. The keys were left in the gas cap, making it available for you to pick up only because you were going to be coming after hours and we had no other way of getting you your keys. You/your father had discussed this with our other Sales Manager (John Macinnes). Please expand this part of your review to include all of the details. Your truck would have been unsafe to drive with the push bar in the condition it was in. We had no choice but to unfasten the bolts, they were all that was holding the bar on, and put the pieces back in your truck. You were demanding a new one at no charge and the $450 that we suggested was our way of trying to appease the situation. We pay twice that for the parts and installation. You can be disappointed with our suggestion, we just ask that you correct this part of the story to reflect the actual details. We acknowledged the fact the hardware on you rims has rusted. You were informed that we have stainless steel hardware to replace the rusted hardware. Why you say that we wouldn't even talk to you is beyond us. We still have your new hardware here and will still replace the rusted hardware. The offer still stands today as it did when all of this went down. Please correct this part of your review. I would also be disappointed if my new rims had rusted hardware...expressing your disappointment is ok, just get the storey straight when you post it to our DealerRater page. We know that both you and your father are not happy with how things happened. Our DealerRater page is where you can share your disappointment with others. We don't dispute this. We invite the criticism. We just ask that the facts be truthful and that important pieces are not left out. We will still replace your hardware at your convenience and would service your vehicle as we have the others your family has purchased from Blaikies if you wish. I am always available to discuss- Erik Muckle 902-893-4381
