In November 2024, I bought a 2024 Ford F350 Tremor Lariat HO Diesel from this dealership at an all in price of $110,000 and put $36,000 down. Price was agreed to with my sales associate Isaac McNeill and manager Paul Gilewich through text and verbal phone calls.They sent me a order form with prices.
I sat with Jeremy Hamilton for financing. My goal was to pay off the loan as quick as I could to avoid interest by using a big down payment and large yearly lump sums. Jeremy convinced me to use General Bank to get a loan where interest rates were lower and could be bought down by refinancing in a year when rates were lower. He convinced me my lump sums combined with buying down interest would save me a ton of money. He talked fast, used a lot of lingo and convinced me it was better. I asked about a website to track payments and loan balance and he said to just call him for that. (Should have been a red flag) He then started firing out a lot of paperwork and numbers. I questioned the numbers he threw in front of me and verbally discussed the math of the all in price minus the down payment with him. He was super nice and he assured me the numbers add up in the end.
I signed what he put in front of me. He packaged a stack of papers into a folder for me.
1 year later, I notice my loan balance isnt what I thought. I go back to the paper work and see that he added $11,195 in a prepaid maintenance plan and a GAP fee of $4347 which is apparently insurance for the financing or something. These are 2 things I would always say no to but he still found a way to sneak it in. To top it off, I've been paying out of pocket for maintenance that would have been covered by this maintenance plan I didn't know I had.
I had zero conversations about either of these charges, nor did I agree to them. I even told friends that they did not pressure me at all about extra charges.
I signed the papers but rest assured I was tricked into signing for these extra charges. With total cost of borrowing I now owe nearly $20,000 more than I would have under a normal loan.
These people were very nice to deal with but I assure you they are very shady. I advise anyone dealing here to slow down the process and very carefully review every document they put in front of you.
