The salesman gave me a discount on the vehicle after some haggling, however when he showed me the final price plus taxes etc it was still full price. He had only written the discount into the quote to make it seem like I was getting one but never actually removed it from the final price or when calculating taxes. Maybe an honest mistake maybe not. If I hadn't double checked the math though, I feel like I would have still paid full price. Second. They advertise some vehicles as certified. This does not mean Ford Pre-owned certified, although the car may be a ford, is pre-owned, and advertised as certified. This only means it has meant provincial safety requirements to be registered and driven... meaning it has a safety certificate, which all cars must have to be registered, so why say certified at all? I found this to be deceptive. Except for vehicles advertised as-is aren't they all 'certified'? So why aren't they all advertised as certified, or better yet safetied to clear up confusion. I found this advertising practice to be deceptive and to lead you to think that these certified vehicles have some limited warranty, which ford pre-owned vehicles do. Adding to my opinion of deceptiveness, the Thor website doesn't outline the eligibility requirements to qualify for the certified pre-owned program, so if you were to read about it on their website you wouldn't see any reason for the vehicle to not qualify. However, if you go to the Ford Canada website you'll see there are requirements such as less than 120,000 km on the vehicle, which you'll only hear about from the salesman when trying to understand why your 'certified' vehicle doesn't have a warranty i.e. because your vehicle is over 120,000 km. Simply adding this to their website would clear up any confusion, but then might turn away anyone who previously might have been interested in purchasing a 'certified' vehicle. They tried to explain the difference between 'certified' and 'pre-owned certified' by saying if you look on their website under pre-owned certified inventory there isn't any, so the 'certified' vehicle advertised couldn't be 'pre-owned certified'. However, when looking for as-is inventory listed under the as-is tab there wasn't any either, yet there was (at least one) as-is vehicle advertised under the pre-owned tab right next to those 'certified' vehicles that aren't 'pre-owned certified', so you can see how this can get quite confusing especially to the average layperson unfamiliar with car dealer jargon (i.e. certified means it has a safety certificate and is not actually certified) , and how one might think all their cars are being advertised under the pre-owned tab and just annotated as as-is or 'certified'. In short, you may think you're getting a certified vehicle with a limited warranty but you're not unless explicitly told. Third. When making my purchase I was assured the vehicle was regularly maintained and that they had access to the maintenance records and everything looked good. However they would not let me see those records because of privacy concerns as the previous owners name was on the documents. Even when I asked to see them with the name blacked out I was told that wouldn't work because if I held them up to the light just the right way I could still make out the name (like I care about who owned the car). However, the quote the salesman gave me (to keep) for the vehicle was written on a scrap piece of paper that had the names, phone numbers, and addresses of twenty plus people (I'm assuming clients) printed on the reverse... so the privacy excuse thing seemed a bit thin. Additionally when I purchased my last car it had a transferrable warranty from Toyota Canada with the prior owners name on it and no one from the dealership to Toyota Canada seemed to care. Perhaps I should have walked away, and I definitely won't be buying another vehicle from Thor motors, but considering we're in Covid times and I already spent my time there and risked exposure (I know people might laugh at this but I really didn't feel like going from dealership to dealership haggling and shopping around), there was a little more pressure to make a deal than usual. I think it's pretty unlikely I'll have any issues with the car in the first year so griping about the limited warranty I would have received under the pre-owned program seems a bit pointless, but I do believe their practice of advertising cars as certified when they are not part of this program is deceptive and possibly only used to lure clients in to see the vehicle in the hope that their sales team can then convince them to buy it anyway. And for follow up, Thor motors, please don't post after this that you'd like me to call to discuss what you can do to make my experience better unless you're actually going to give me the warranty. Thanks. Additionally, we were told we couldn't use their washrooms due to Covid and could walk across the street to use them at the Dollarama. They had 3 washrooms (if I remember correctly) you could at least make one available only to customers if you're worried about Covid. To be fair they did let me use it at last when I told them it was for menstrual reasons. After purchase (in cash) it took 7 days for them to have the car ready and only after I had to chase them down to figure out that they were still waiting on insurance info from me to register the car, however without them calling to tell me when the car was finished in the detail shop and when it could be picked up I had no way of knowing when to start the insurance policy. When we went to pick the car up I did my own inspection and noticed a loud/annoying squealing noise coming from the right front when the AC was running. I pointed it out and they had the mechanic look at it. Diagnosed as coming from the compressor and to their credit they offered to replace it free of charge. However, a month and a half later this has not been done. If I hadn't checked it myself we would have drove away as is and the problem likely would have become ours. You couldn't hear this noise when inside the car only from outside so this is probably why I missed it in the first place during the test drive. Lastly, their Covid precautions were inconsistent. One day the salesman was wearing a mask. The next visit he wasn't and was inside our vehicle for pick up. During sales the person we spoke to had a mask on but the more he spoke the lower it slid down his nose until by the end of our conversation his upper lip was sticking out. I guess it may seem like I'm a bit of a complainer but really I think it's that I'm more of a perfectionist and expect everything to be as stated and completed correctly. More

Scheduled service but truck still in lot after 2.5 hours Normally I rate Thor very high...but not this time. Booked service in advance with Greg. I arrived on that day ahead of schedule(appointment at 9am and live 1 1/4 hours out of town). Not a lot of signage for the Covid process but that is a minor detail. Had my bike with me so once I got the truck set up, I went for a ride around Orillia. Time frame was 9 to 12 to complete the Works service and 2 recall checks per info at time of booking. After 2.5 hour bike ride I came back to find the truck outside so I racked my bike and went to pay. Like I said Covid signage not really clear so went inside at the main entrance only to be walked through to Service. Found out that my truck was never in the shop! There was apparently an issue with the service time of another vehicle. My cell number was on the work order and no phone call! Had I known I could have lived with it but I was expecting it to be done when I got back or shortly after that. So as it was, talked to Ron and the truck did eventually get service, less 2 recall checks which means another trip back to Thor. Not a great experience! More

The staff is very pleasant . I feel their knowledge in the mechanics of cars in service is very poor . I had to bring in a outside mechanic to help them . Then we needed a part which they said I had to the mechanics of cars in service is very poor . I had to bring in a outside mechanic to help them . Then we needed a part which they said I had to wait for up to 10 business days until I put my back up and had them source it out in Barrie at the dealership where I picked it up . I should not have to do the thinking this is not my line of experience . I felt I was being hosed the fix went from $1000 to $100. I would never return More

As a female, I always feel valued here. I’ve been to other dealerships where they ask me to bring my husband back with me or to chose a colour first before picking my vehicle type. I even had one guy pu other dealerships where they ask me to bring my husband back with me or to chose a colour first before picking my vehicle type. I even had one guy pull the visor down to show me the vanity mirror so I can “put on your lipstick”. It may not seem like a huge thing, but it definitely is. More
