I brought my 2023 GMC Sierra AT4 in for a rear brake squeal. The rear rotors required replacement after just 3 years and 70,000 km, even though the brake pads still had over 75% life remaining. The front rotors, by comparison, still had over 70% life left, making it clear this was not due to driving habits. Despite this unusual and premature wear, the service representative refused to even submit a goodwill warranty request to GM on my behalf, which was extremely disappointing. Before picking up the truck, I found the exact same GM parts available online through Jack Carter at a lower price. When I asked if they price matched, the representative checked with the parts manager, who I clearly overheard say yes, provided it was the exact same part and I could show it online. A few minutes later, my service advisor came back with the opposite answer, saying I needed a written quote because the online pricing was "not reflective." When I tried to explain the parts could be ordered online for in-store pickup, I wasn't given the chance to finish. I paid the bill and let them know they had lost my business. It wasn't about the price. It was about receiving conflicting information and how the situation was handled. I also requested my complete service history and to be removed from future dealership communications, yet I'm still receiving requests to rate my experience. More
