Worst purchase experience EVER! I bought a Mercedes GLK from North York Chrysler last October. I am a young polite professional who was looking to buy it out cash. Now given this fac I bought a Mercedes GLK from North York Chrysler last October. I am a young polite professional who was looking to buy it out cash. Now given this factor, you would think I would have been treated respectfully (well that should happen no matter where or who you are) and with some class considering I was about to spend $45,000 cash on a Mercedes SUV. First off, the sales associate that they hooked me up with - Evan Wu had absolutely no knowledge of this car whatsoever. You would think that before meeting with potential clients, you should know the features of the car. Not only did he barely tell me anything, after my 2 minute test drive on an extremely busy and crowded street (which I feel should have been a little longer) some of the functions he told me that certain buttons do - did nothing of that sort! For example.. the knob that simply changes the song or radio station - he told me it was for the "sport" mode of the car and it puts it into manual. How can you be that uneducated regarding a car - especially a high end car you are about to sell?! Once I decided I did want to proceed with the purchase of the car - he said he would be back shortly to get some papers for me to go over. When he comes back he has the entire cost of the bill & breakdown for the car finalized...and wanting me to sign. I was caught very off guard as we hadn't even talked about the pricing or any deals/details - he just came back with a set price and thought that was the end of the sale. Of course I explained that I thought we would be discussing it before all of the documents were prepared. He seemed to be confused but then understood so he went to his sales manager, Pedram Mahmoudian, to get approval for a price decrease given the fact I would be paying cash, and also trading in my 2012 Ford Focus. After waiting quite some time (well over an hour) and having to go back and forth more than once, Evan ended up coming out with Pedram. When Pedram came out to explain the pricing and what was going on, things got escalated as he became extremely rude and unprofessional and even tried to kick my boyfriend out of the dealership, who was being completely calm and trying to talk about the pricing situation. Not only was he mouthy but this sales manager, and yes he is a MANAGER, actually yelled at me more than once and got in my face and my boyfriends face. He basically then told me I couldn't buy the car, and that he was going to void the contract..Embarrassingly enough to say, he made me cry from all of this...Evan felt the need to tell me "don't cry, it's only a car"...I replied, "it is not the fact that I may not get this car, it's the disgusting way I am being treated in a retail location - especially when I am about to spend $45,000 - how can you possibly think that is okay? And that is how to run a business?" Evan actually had to walk Pedram out of our area because he was getting so heated and making a show, as everyone in the store was looking our way. There was even a bystander who was close by an overheard this entire conversation and even came to us saying that was awful listening to the way we were being talked to and treated, and he was sorry we went through that. He even mentioned he had bought a car from here not too long ago, but would probably not be continuing business with this location after hearing that. We then asked if there was a general manager in, or someone else we could talk to, we were told that he wasn't in, by Evan and by Pedram, before he was walked away. My boyfriend goes to the front desk to ask for the General manager, Brian Hoect's card. She informs us he is actually upstairs right now in his office. So not only have we been treated horribly and yelled at, we were now lied to by those two people, who clearly didn't want us knowing the GM was actually present. At this point we have been in the dealership well over 2 hours After waiting 10 minutes the general manager Brian came to meet with us. He was very polite and listened to what we had to say, and apologized for the Pedram, the sales managers behaviour. How embarrassing he had to do that, but it was all I wanted to hear to diffuse the situation at this point. He asked if we still wanted to proceed with the car I purchase which I said yes of course, that's all I wanted to begin with! Papers were finalized and Brian threw in a free oil change for me. Fast forward..I have now had the car less than one week, and my oil light goes on, and my "ad-blue" notification comes up. Ad blue is a liquid that diesel vehicles need in order to keep them running. How can you sell someone a car that doesn't even have its oil changed?!? Especially a Mercedes?! That comes down to safety and I found it to be so unacceptable that they couldn't have done that before I picked it up the week after I signed the papers. You have time to detail the whole inside but not change the oil? I would have rather had that...So of course I call up the dealership, and speak with Brian so he says that I can bring it in and they will top those things up for me. Okay I thought, perfect. So my boyfriend and I go to take the car in, and end up waiting there for over 2 hours because none of their "mechanics" knew how to change oil on this type of car. Believe it or not, but I saw them pull up a YouTube video to see how to change the oil. From the first step with Evan and Pedram, to this step, everyone I have dealt with seems to not have any clue what they are doing. Now, once the oil was changed they were ready to do the ad-blue, and realized they don't have the right liquid/filter. So, we have to sit another 45 minutes while one of their mechanics drives to a mercedes dealership to get the proper items. You would think if you sell mercedes in your dealership, you would have the necessary basic tools to up keep them, and to sell them. But obviously not, and at this point I am not surprised with the mistakes that keep happening. When it finally arrived, things were put in, and we left after almost 3 hours of sitting there for something that should have been done before I left with the car the first time. Brian was nice enough to give us a gas card for our troubles driving out there again, as I do not live close. Very minimal, but at least it was something. Fast forward to the actual time my car is due for an oil change. I thought perfect, I will use that free oil change Brian gave us in the original contract, and then I can be done with this place. I made an appt, and went in. And let them know at the beginning before they started I would be using my free one that was on my contract (which they can pull up or go get from filing I'm sure). I was told to go wait in the waiting room, after some while some guy (name unknown but is the shop manager, middle aged man with glasses) comes to me and says you already used your free oil change back in October, shortly after you bought the car. I was immediately shocked, and explained to him the situation as I had assumed that oil change would have definitely been free as it was barely a week after I bought the car, and again oil changes should be done before selling a car to someone - or adding liquids that require a diesel vehicle to run should definitely have been done!! He then went back to some manager who I never got to see or talk with (Brian was not here as I asked to speak with him) and after waiting another long time (at this pint I just wanted to know if they can do it or not, otherwise I just wanted to leave). I go out to ask a service advisor - Heather Kavanagh if there's any word or what was going on, as the guy who I originally talked to was standing there talking with her. She was so extremely rude to me instantly, I couldn't believe it. That conversation was a blur because I was so caught off guard but the rudeness. She also told me they don't have to change oil before they sell a car if they don't want to!! That is so not accurate as I called MTO, and they told me something as simple as oil, and safety related should definitely be done before a car is sold - especially at a dealership that has a shop right in it. There are no excuses. After all of this, and everything I've gone through with this dealership - it just proves that the majority of their employees need some serious professional development and customer service skills. To anyone who is reading this, or thinking of leasing/purchasing a car from the this dealership - I strongly urge you to look somewhere else. Please save yourself from the stress, time wasted, and being treated in this way and go somewhere else. I have never in my life been treated so horribly in a business establishment. I have worked in customer service for 15 years, and have never seen something like this, or can even begin to comprehend how some of these rude employees have their jobs there. I do not want anyone else being treated this way, so please do NOT GO TO NORTH YORK CHRYSLER!!!! More
