We bought a vehicle from Gateway Toyota Dec 9 2022, we were told that we have to trade in a vehicle in order to get new vehicle. So we decided to trade in truck Chevy Silverado 2018. We had to get OPI for were told that we have to trade in a vehicle in order to get new vehicle. So we decided to trade in truck Chevy Silverado 2018. We had to get OPI for the trade vehicle as it was from out of province. Dealership told us that we can’t pick the new vehicle until we drop the trade in vehicle. Mechanic who was doing the OPI told us that few things needs to be fixed before truck passes the OPI. So we got those fixed on urgent basis as we were trading the vehicle. After the OPI passed on dec 15 2022, we dropped the vehicle at dealership same day. They did test drive for the vehicle and gave us the green light for the deal. We picked the toyota RAV4 on dec 15 2022. Dealership supposed to give us cheque for $19635 for the chevy truck. But were told that our finance department is closed and they were not able give the cheque same day. We were hesitant to leave the truck there as we were not getting the cheque same day but they assured us that they are big dealership and will take care of everything. So left the truck their on Dec 15 2022 (Thursday). We called them next day for cheque and they gave us excuse that they didn’t get money from bank to provide is the cheque, Also we have to wait till Monday for our cheque. Every time we called them to ask the status. So we waited till Monday for their call but again we have to call . On Monday they told us that they won’t be able to honour the trade as chevy truck has issue in transmission. We were shocked and confused at same time as we just got the OPI done and everything was fine on Thursday and even they drove the vehicle same day and didn’t find anything. Now they want us to either pay for the transmission or cancel the deal. We tried to explain them that we got the OPI done and everything was fine with the vehicle. Even we tried talking to their GM , they are harassing us and saying that we should drop the vehicle back and cancel the deal. We are under alot of stress and made a huge mistake buying vehicle from this dealership. Dealership listed the chevy truck for sale on their without paying for the trade in value they agreed upon which is listed on our bill of sale. We need your assistance urgently. Thanks More

Just over two years ago (Sept 2020) I signed a contract with Gateway to purchase a RAV4. I put down a deposit and waited patiently. In late March I was called and told that my vehicle would be in in mid Ap with Gateway to purchase a RAV4. I put down a deposit and waited patiently. In late March I was called and told that my vehicle would be in in mid April by the sales manager Rick Janes. I then went early April in and put an additional deposit down. I sold my other vehicle as I expected delivery of the RAV4 within 2-3 weeks. It didn’t arrive and the was told early May. It didn’t arrive in early May and was then told probably the 3rd week in May. When I questioned the sales manager he said “ but I didn’t guarantee it.” I then talked to the GM Chris Schulz and he was the most arrogant person I have ever dealt with. I questioned him on providing a rental or a if they would do anything on the price due to the inconvenience and us potentially having to rent a vehicle, He said no and basically said I could take the vehicle or leave it. I asked him who he reported to and he said his wife. I then told him I was going to write a bad review of him and the dealership to which he replied “ for sure I won’t do anything for you”. I wrote the review on rate your dealership and the next day he called me and voided my contract. I told him I didn’t want the contacted cancelled and he never asked me if I wanted the contact cancelled. Chris Schulz is a bully and used his power to try and make me pay for the bad review. If you look at their mission statement it reads Here at Gateway Toyota, we want to provide you with the greatest buying experience in all of Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Beaumont, and Leduc. That starts with our family atmosphere where we develop a long-lasting friendship with all of our customers. We believe that the customer experience doesn’t end with the sale, in fact, it’s just beginning. That’s why we honour three values: Fairness, Trust, and Integrity, so you can be as comfortable as possible purchasing from us. They are absolute liars as they don’t adhere to their mission statements. The owner of the dealership Neal Gratton didn’t want to get involved and said there was nothing he could do..what a joke, this management has no integrity, they are not fair and are not trust worthy. As a customer who has been a Toyota owner for 40 years I recommend to not deal with Edmonton Gateway Toyota under no circumstance. More
Brought my 2022 4Runner for detailing as part of my package. Extremely disappointed, as no one told me it was a very basic package, as in they wiped down the interior with an already used dusty rag. The windows were still dirty , the seats and they didn't even touch the back of the vehicle. After I brought up that it was still dirty they advised me everything was extra cost...... I felt I wasted my time completely I could of done what they did. Not impressed at all. they lack communication. More
