Horrible experience with Gateway management Will post no stars if possible. I was at Gateway Toyota Edmonton today to get a 2018 RAV4. While waiting for the sales rep to review my offer the sale Will post no stars if possible. I was at Gateway Toyota Edmonton today to get a 2018 RAV4. While waiting for the sales rep to review my offer the sales manager (Kameel Koya) came in and gave my family and I the worst insults of our lives. My little kids were so shocked. Kameel was extremely rude, disrespectful and told us we can go buy the vehicle some where else. We asked him the offering price and he asked why we wanted to know it like we can afford it and if we had an idea what vehicle we were buying. He basically told us we can leave the dealership and go anywhere we liked. Other managers at the dealership just said nothing. Mind you we were ready to pay cash for the vehicle and just wanted to see what Boxing Day deals they had because we have dealt with them for 6yrs. He then kept talking on and on in an attempt to make us feel ashamed for making a sales price offer. I have never been so humiliated, spited, degraded or belittled in my entire life by an individual with my kids watching the way this individual treated us. We drove to another dealership and paid cash for a brand new RAV. I have vowed never to step in there again after 6yrs of dealing with Gateway Toyota and also will tell as much people as I can how rude, disrespectful and insulting the management are. Thank you Gateway for spoiling our Christmas and the buying experience for the kids. Worst dealership in the country don’t waste your time dealing with them. Horrible horrible experience and a total nighmare. More
Service... what service This is the second major issue I have had with Gateway in regards to recall/warranty enhancement. They tell you they will order the parts and book a d This is the second major issue I have had with Gateway in regards to recall/warranty enhancement. They tell you they will order the parts and book a date for repair weeks away then when you get there, no parts. They say they will look into it and call back, they do and then they don’t. They call back with no additional info. They don’t follow up and then they don’t call back. So I call back 48 hours after dropping off the vehicle and ask questions and get yelled at because of my expectation of a follow up. My suggestion is to avoid their service department all together. More
I purchased a new car in one day!! Gateway Toyota made it easy, with a great salesperson (Rohan), a wonderful new vehicle to trial, and a super sale price!! And on top of all that, Leo Gateway Toyota made it easy, with a great salesperson (Rohan), a wonderful new vehicle to trial, and a super sale price!! And on top of all that, Leo taught me about all the features I can access on my new Rav 4! What more could I ask for? More
Customer service Buying the vehicle went off without a hitch, very helpful. However after purchasing the vehicle the customer service was very poor. I had contacted the sales person asking about a warranty issue. He said he would get back to me and never did. I referred numerous people to the dealership. One of those people did purchase a vehicle in August and advised me I would would be receiving a $100 referral cheque as per the buyers contract. That never occurred. I made multiple phone calls to Gateway, speaking to different dealership employees including a manager and someone in Finance. I also drove to the dealership to speak to someone about this in person. After speaking to several different people at the dealership I was told a cheque was on the way but given instructions to call the service manager if the cheque did not arrive. The service manager’s name is Doris Blanchard. On all the above occasions they advised me a cheque would be sent to me however that never happened. In late November I called and spoke to the service manager, Doris Blanchard. Although this has nothing to do with her area of work she personally looked into it and resolved the matter exceptionally quick, that day. She was fantastic to deal with. Thank you so much Doris Blanchard. Lesson I learned is: We will be here to sell you your vehicle but don’t bother us after that..... More
Disappointed with the costumer service The car was sitting on the parking lot for 3 days because they didn't organize everything to get the service done. The manager unfortunately tried to justify and find excuses as suppose to find a solution for the issue. Beside that the parts department staff was really rude. Don't recommend. More

Feel they took advantage of an inexperienced buyer Last month, my 79 year old mother bought a new Toyota. She had been thinking about this for many months and when she received an email advertising th Last month, my 79 year old mother bought a new Toyota. She had been thinking about this for many months and when she received an email advertising the employee pricing sale, felt it was a good time. She did not take anyone into the dealership with her. The next day she told me about her new car but said she felt like she had been taken advantage of. I looked at her sales bill and was surprised to see that a) she had paid full MSRP for the car including every possible tax and registration fee, and b) she had only been given 2500$ trade in for her 2010 Camry (120,000km, original owner, no accidents). Apparently they told her they would need to have the car repainted because it had scratches on it. I returned with her the next day and advised the sales person that we would not be giving them her car in trade. (We subsequently sold it privately to the first buyer for $8250.) I also asked the sales person how much of a discount she had received for the employee pricing (which, according to the bill, was obviously none). After much mumbling and going out to discuss, he came back and deducted about 5% from the MSRP. No apology for failing to give her the advertised discount. After all of this, I personally would have bargained for a better discount but she did not want to make a fuss. I really believe my mom was taken advantage of because of her age and inexperience with this entire process. I am certain Gateway will reply that this is not their usual practice, but the fact is - it obviously IS their practice. I will not go anywhere near this dealership after this. It was a distasteful experience. More
