AVOID at all cost!!! I bought a Forester from this so called' Family' owned and operated dealership. First, they sneak in an additional several hundred $ charge for a win I bought a Forester from this so called' Family' owned and operated dealership. First, they sneak in an additional several hundred $ charge for a window sticker and VIN etching that one can do for $20. Paper hidden in the purchase package. Hesitation problem within few months... driver is blamed for not driving aggressively!!! Took 18 months to identify defective fuel injector. All warranty work but terrible inconvenience. Suspect they intentionally did not fix it early to get paid by Subaru...Cash Cow!!!. Any car can come with a problem... but not fixing it for 18 months after several visits definitely indicates that dealership does not care and is incompetent. Another very telling example: Very first oil change ,....by the time I drove 10k to home half of the oil was gone.. drain plug was not even hand tightened. Car comes out very dirty and greasy after every visit. Charge for wind shield fluid top up is twice the price of a gallon container and was not requested any how. Air filter casing was not re-installed properly by them and they try to charge an additional $32 just to tighten a screw to fix it. And many many more very unpleasant and upsetting experiences (All Documented !). Go out of town for your purchase and go to All Makes for service.... same price but honest respectful treatment and service. The Problem: SUBARU is a very good car and it sells itself. Centaur takes advantage of this feature and do not care to make any improvement to the quality of service and customer care. More
Bereft of ethics I unfortunately purchased my first new vehicle from Centaur. It turned out to be quite a lemon with a couple major component failures within the fist I unfortunately purchased my first new vehicle from Centaur. It turned out to be quite a lemon with a couple major component failures within the fist nine months of ownership. Some salespeople will tell you that there is no such thing as a lemon or a Friday build any more due to QC within modern factories. However when the lead mechanic working on your vehicle, while out for a smoke tells you that you are unlucky enough to have a lemon, I am prone to believe the gentleman that works on the front on the industry. I had to take the dealership to arbitration through CAMVAP since so much went wrong so quickly. I asked the dealer previous to taking this measure to take my car for a week or a month and iron out the deficiencies no matter how long it took. They said NO because Subaru would not support the labour costs associated with doing that. During the arbitration, when the Subaru representative from their Canadian office was in attendance, I brought this notion up to him. He replied that he would gladly take the vehicle until the issues were resolved, he would be happy to help that way. The "gentleman" representing the dealership denied any knowledge of being asked to take the car for as long as it took. Even though I have the Time, date and subject of the phone call recorded. This dealership as a whole demonstrated a lack of professionalism, ethics and honesty that left me aghast. I am sad that I can not rate them less than one star on this site. More

Finance manager Rob was great to deal with as well. After the 'other' Subaru in the city didn't even call me back with the same offer, I was amazed at how smooth the deal went. Would definitely go back to Centaur. Ask for Adam. More
poor service: mixed messages from service personnel I brought my WRX in for last minute servicing (blow out, dead battery) without an appointment. I was told I would be third in line for servicing by Rick (four new tires, new battery), and that they would try to have my vehicle ready by the end of day (Friday). After no further contact that day, I contacted Service on the following Monday and was told officiously, by a different service person (Rodger), that I could not have been third in line on Friday, that I was fourth in line today, and that my vehicle would definitely not be ready today. There was no attempt to apologize for the mixed communication on the part of the two service individuals, not to mention the inconvenience caused to me, and the curt intransigence displayed by Roger. My 96 000 km servicing is due shortly and I ABSOLUTELY will not be having it done at Centaur Subaru; nor shall I return to this dealership at any time in the future. More
An unexpected review This is a bit of an unexpected review. In an effort to support our daughter with a used car purchase and valuing Subaru overall, we wound up at Calgar This is a bit of an unexpected review. In an effort to support our daughter with a used car purchase and valuing Subaru overall, we wound up at Calgary Subaru because they had a car that seemed to meet her needs. We experienced many challenges with our purchase unfortunately and found our trust eroding through the process - so much so, that we eventually reached out to Centaur Subaru. They were amazing! We were fortunate to connect with Daniel. He provided great information which helped us to make important decisions. He helped us to secure a mechanical inspection and through each step provided exemplary customer care and incredible follow up. I feel I need to emphasize that we weren't really a customer! This is the oddity of this review - we purchased a vehicle at Calgary Subaru, but were ultimately BEYOND thankful for the service and support of Centaur Subaru and Daniel who made our extremely poor experience with Calgary Subaru manageable. I have never written a poor review in my 50+ years, but felt obliged to write one about the terrible experience we had there. Ironically, we did buy the car but only because of and thanks to, Daniel and Centaur. We know of 4 friends/neighbours that have bought from Centaur who Aldo have nothing but praise for this dealership. We're thankful too. More

Not Impressed - An Honest Review I moved to Calgary recently and was looking for a Subaru dealer for our car. This dealer was close to our place, so it seemed like a good choice. After several service experiences there, I can definitively conclude this dealership is terrible. Based on my experiences, avoid them and go to Calgary Subaru. The dealer that we used in our previous city was great and set the bar very high in all aspects, especially customer service. The first thing I noticed at Centaur Subaru on the initial visit was that I was ignored. I had to stand at the service desk waiting for the people behind the counter to break free from their gossip session to attend to me the customer. It wasn't even near their coffee break time. I wanted to give them another chance or two, and on the follow up services I again had similar experiences. I got the general impression that they don't really care about the customer. Perhaps those who continue to go there do not have a real sense of what customer service should be like at a good dealership. Based on how I have been treated consistently, one would think this was the only Subaru dealer in the city, so they didn't have to care. Thankfully there is another option! I gave Calgary Subaru a chance, to see if this lack of customer service was somehow common to all Calgary dealerships. I am happy to report that the issues are isolated to Centuar Subaru, as my experiences have been completely different. The service staff at Calgary Subaru are friendly, and don't keep me waiting. I have had more people here say hello to me in a single visit than in all my previous visits to Centaur Subaru. I feel welcome and satisfied, and will happily continue to come back. As an added bonus, the Calgary Subaru dealership is clean and inviting, which is another testament to the customer experience. I love my Subaru vehicle, and expect to continue to own this brand for many years to come. If Centaur Subaru had just took the time to care about the customer, they would have had my continued business both for service and, eventually, a new vehicle. Maybe one day they will learn, but it is too late in this case; I am done with them. More

I had been to a few dealerships in town, including the other Subaru location, and felt like I had a sign on my forehead that said "I'm a woman, I can't possibly know anything about cars and therefore really I'm easy to wheel and deal". Walking in to Centaur Subaru I was expecting to be greeted by yet another pushy salesmen and was shocked that this wasn't the case at Centaur Subaru. Instead I was greeted by Daniel Jonas, a down-to-earth normal guy looking to genuinely help me buy the right car for me. Daniel listened to what I was looking for in a new vehicle and found me the perfect match at the perfect price. At no time was he pushy, he was always reasonable, extremely accommodating and helpful even after I drove off the lot in my new Outback.
