Went in the west door, walked the showroom floor, walked back the showroom floor and went and looked at the Denali truck with the tent in the box. I was the only person in the showroom. Not one salesperson approached me, one did look at me, I guess in this hot Calgary economy GSL doesn't need to move vehicles. More
Joe Champion - GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Being a huge Ford fan, it was quite surprising that I ended up buying a GMC. After looking around at a number of dealerships (CH Toyota, Shaganappi GM Being a huge Ford fan, it was quite surprising that I ended up buying a GMC. After looking around at a number of dealerships (CH Toyota, Shaganappi GMC, Cam Clark Ford), I decided that I would give it one last shot at GSL. When we arrived at the dealership, Joe was quick to greet us and played some fun facts with my 12 year old who was quite knowledgeable about trucks. Joe was friendly and helpful. Due to the rain that day, we scheduled a test drive for that Saturday. Joe was consistently keeping in contact to ensure that he had just the right vehicle for me. I had spoken with him of what I was looking for and he had found just about the right vehicle. After a test drive with my kids on the Saturday and another test drive with my wife the following weekend, we decided on the truck. Joe was instrumental in ensuring that the paperwork was ready on Friday and as promised and that the vehicle was ready for pickup on Tuesday. He has been in constant contact to ensure that I am happy with my purchase and that I haven't had any second thoughts about the GMC. Every dealership comes with their own pro and cons. I can same the same was for GSL as well. Although the xxxxxxoutweighed the cons in this case and I haven't had a reason to complain about the service I have received thus far. When looking to purchase my new truck, there were only two employees who were really interested in ensuring that I would drive away in a truck. Chris from Shaganappi GMC and Joe. Chris was unable to find the truck I needed (no fault of his). Joe kept in constant contact to see if the price was right and the truck was right and even though I didn't make an immediate decision, he was always giving me a call, sending me a text or sending me an email to ensure that I was still in the know of what the current promotions were and that I was still on his mind for a truck. To me the most important reason I considered to go with GSL is that, Joe never gave up on finding a vehicle that suited my needs. Although I cant speak of how involved Joe or GSL will be in the future, I know that I haven't had a reason to complain about the service I have received. It has been great this far and I am hoping that it will stay that way. It has truly been a pleasure dealing with Joe and the GSL team and I hope that it will continue to be that way. Thank you Joe! Service refused to acknowledge known problem with AFM I own a Chevrolet Silverado which had a spark plug break, after taking it into GSL for service, they cleaned out the engine and replaced the spark plu I own a Chevrolet Silverado which had a spark plug break, after taking it into GSL for service, they cleaned out the engine and replaced the spark plugs. After asking what would cause the spark plug to break like that the shop manager just mentioned that it was oil fouled and that it was probably that type of gas I was using. This is ridiculous, after doing some looking into on my own I found out that there is a problem with the Active Fuel Management system which essentially switches between 4 and 8 cylinders. GM has known about this problem for years now but refused to say anything. After speaking with the Service Manager Jarrett, and getting brushed off by him as the truck ONLY needed extensive engine repairs or replacement. The truck has less then 100 000km on it, no one let us know about problems with the AFM until I confronted the dealership several months later upon discovering the issue persisted. Losing excessive amounts of oil, broken spark plug, and an oil fouled engine are indicative of problems associated with the AFM. A problem well known to GM for years now which, GSL is helping them cover up. Very unhappy with this dealership and its service of not letting customers know about well known problems. More
Refused to stand by and fix their work I took a truck to GSL that required a new Transfercase and repair to the front differential under GM warranty. Low and behold a few months later when I took a truck to GSL that required a new Transfercase and repair to the front differential under GM warranty. Low and behold a few months later when I went to use the 4x4 for the first time with less then 9,000 KM since the repair it didnt work. I was told over the phone %100 by Trevor they would cover it. The service manager then told me in person they would never claim to cover anything under warranty without seeing it, which is not what the phone conversation was. he would never say that and outright called me a liar and was very condensing to me the entire conversation. (Which I have recorded) GSL refused to stand behind their work and fix it. They quoted over $700 in repairs, claiming both the front actuator and transfer case control module had failed. They swore up and down that TCCM was bad. This would require they claimed a new actuator, a new TCCM, programming the TCCM and labour. What was really found: The wiring harness to the transfercase had the retainer clip broken off, obviously from the previous repair, causing a loose connection at the transfercase. The front axle actuator had a pin from the actuator broken off in the wiring harness connector. The TCCM was not faulty. (a $230 part, plus labour to install and program) Both the retainer clip and broken pin were more then likely caused from the previous repair. Total cost to fix was $155 for a new actuator. GSL misdiagnosed the problems, as the TCCM is fine. They claimed this was a completely unrelated problem to the previous repair, when this problem was %100 caused by the previous repair, and further claimed additional parts were faulty. More

I have been a customer of GSL since 2000, where I have purchased 7 new vehicles: 2001 Silverado; 2004 Silverado; 2007 Tahoe; 2009 CTS Sedan; 2011 CTS- I have been a customer of GSL since 2000, where I have purchased 7 new vehicles: 2001 Silverado; 2004 Silverado; 2007 Tahoe; 2009 CTS Sedan; 2011 CTS-V Coupe; 2015 GMC Sierra; and 2016 GMC Sierra. Six of these were bought from Ron Madsen - the best vehicle salesman I have ever dealt with. I have been pleased with all the vehicles and the pricing has always been fair. Ron stays in touch and has always been welcoming. He never wastes my time with unsuitable vehicles. The dealership is good too! Brenda Monz has represented their business end extremely well for me on the last several vehicles. Note: She is well organized and competent ... as well as friendly and engaging. This has made a big difference for me, as I'm usually in a rush or travelling. Case in point, the last vehicle was bought while I was in Europe. There were no issues and I was in and out with the new truck in under an hour. All service work has been done well and on time. I have absolutely no complaints. More
