Brought it back to Hyundai immediately and by chance the GM Todd see me pull in. Before I even had chance to say anything he was outside to great me. He could tell that I was upset and was shown the issue,he was more than happy to discuss the way to go about fixing the issue.His solution was to properly protect the paint. I have my car back free of charge and wow it's beautiful. Thank you More
Santa Fe gone bad Bought a used Santa Fe from dealership in Nanaimo and when test driving it, I noticed a thunking / thumping noise when accelerating from coasting! Wh Bought a used Santa Fe from dealership in Nanaimo and when test driving it, I noticed a thunking / thumping noise when accelerating from coasting! When asking the salesman he assured me it was nothing so I went ahead with purchase! My transmission seized up 2 weeks ago and it was the transfer case that caused it! Upon further research this is a well known fact to Hyundai that the thumping noise is caused by failing transfer case! This has left a very sour taste in my mouth that they did not disclose this information when selling vehicle! More
Incompetent service We bought our Santa Fe new from this dealership in 2009. Until recently, it was also serviced there. Our first indication that their service recommendations were not to be trusted was when the service advisor recommended we replace our tires, If someone had actually looked at the four tires, they might have noticed they were brand new. They had just been replaced by a professional tire shop three weeks earlier. We finally decided to drop them for service when my wife took the vehicle in earlier in 2015. We had been having an unusual electrical problem: there was often no power when entering the vehicle. No remote locks, no lights, no clock, nothing. Trouble was, the condition was erratic and the vehicle often had power and started with an issue. We recently had the battery recently replaced, not by this dealer, and we thought the problem might be in the connection. Our clue: if we slammed a passenger door we had power and the vehicle started and all was good. She explained all this to the "service advisor" who promptly ignored what she described. An hour later, the computer diagnosis, apparently the only examination made by the mechanic, could not determine a problem. The ever helpful service adviser suggested starting with replacing the starter at $550 +. No guarantees and, of course, if the problem persisted, no refund. WE knew the vehicle started - it just had an electical problem of some kind! I thought the problem was simpler than they were making it out to be and we declined their recommendation. With the car back in the driveway, I decided to have a look myself, especially at the battery where we thought there was a problem. What I discovered was a loose battery terminal. The post on the new battery was too small for the clamp and there wasn't a secure contact. A mere $2.95 shim from the helpful local auto supply and the Santa Fe has been starting and running fine for the past six months. We are still out $75 + for the completely ineffective and unprofessional service report. However, we saved over $550 for needless recommended repairs. Our recommendation: if this dealership recommends an expensive service - get a second opinion. More

What the dealership did not know and which took me almost a month of driving to diagnose was the Jeep had a leaking head gasket which was causing a lose of coolant. Daniel Jones the General Sales Manager did not hesitate in taking steps to have the issue attended to at no cost to myself. The dealership stood behind the sale had the jeep fixed locally in Victoria for me regardless of the fact they are in Nanaimo and might have been able to do the work in-house at a lower cost. He was more than happy to take his time with us and we visited a couple of times and had a lot of questions. I didn't feel rushed or like I was being given the usual sales pitch. They worked hard to get our business. This was no pressure, informative good old fashioned customer service. I was introduced to the Manager who was equally eager to help us. They even provided generous loot bags to our little kids and didn't stress about them running around. Unfortunately they didn't have a second hand car on the lot that met our needs in the short space of time that we are looking. But honestly I nearly bought a car just to make them our local dealer. It really feels like they are interested in building long-term customer relationships in stead of short-term sales. More
