But was nice enough to try and get me a different color which I accepted. Again another phone call comes late in the evening to let me know, once again that the car is not available... what was the point of trying to make a deal and putting down a deposit to hold the vehicle then??!?!?! Nice to see that when you show intent to purchase and put something on hold, it doesn't actually mean anything here .. More

Staff was very pleasant and did not put pressure on our decision on as to what options we wanted in the vehicle, If we are as well treated by the service department as we were by the sales people, then we would only have complements for this dealership. Good and friendly service I was in the market looking for economy car and visited many different dealers without buying a car. Then I met Michael of West End Nissan and h I was in the market looking for economy car and visited many different dealers without buying a car. Then I met Michael of West End Nissan and he was the first person who chatted me for a period to understand my need and my budget. There was no trying to sell a car etc. After that he gave his suggestion and we worked a deal which satisfied me. Also I would like to mention that Andrew Barber the Sales Manager helped me to get a discount on 4 set if rims with snow tires . The experience here was hassle & stress free and certainly would go back for my next new car . I recommend to any car purchaser to deal with Michael Carlson who is friendly understands car and certainly try to work for you. More
Beware. Shop around for service prices at other dealers No issues with the quality of the service or their frontline personnel. BUT Wow. $54 higher than other Alberta & BC Nissan dealers for the same routi No issues with the quality of the service or their frontline personnel. BUT Wow. $54 higher than other Alberta & BC Nissan dealers for the same routine oil change & inspection. Looking at their charge rates for oil-products, I think the customer could purchase their synthetic oil product for them cheaper & charge them for your time. Contacted Nissan Canada to see if they endorse this behavior in business practices for their loyal Nissan customers. Seems they do & they elect to see no issues with excessive charge disparity between dealerships in service charges for routine service; -("We regret the circumstances which prompted you to contact us and apologize for any inconvenience you may have incurred. In regards to your inquiry, please be advised that Nissan dealerships are free to set their individual pricing, which may differ from the MSRP, as they are independently owned and operated. Thank you for the opportunity to respond. Sincerely, Customer Care Centre") Not cool. Not "customer care". My story of service invoicing experience, as a seasoned 3rd-time purchaser of quality Nissan vehicles, otherwise having proven to be an exceptionally well-engineered vehicle (no issues there): Over a number of years, we have sought routine maintenance services from various Nissan dealerships in Alberta and British Columbia, most often in Edmonton. We typically seek that maintenance using the convenient Express Service available at many Nissan dealers. I have however noted for the past number of years some rather great disparity between Nissan dealerships in their service invoice-charges (across both standard non-synthetic oil changes and synthetic oil changes) despite this particular type of service being a rather routine, simple and quick service task. This has been evident during maintenance in our previous two Nissan vehicles the past decade prior to engaging a pre-paid maintenance plan this time, so such differences in charge-out rates have been a consistent pattern for some years now. With our current 2015 vehicle, we purchased a pre-paid maintenance plan for routine oil changes. Since we prefer using synthetic grade oil, by personal choice we do accept and expect to pay 'reasonable' net extra charges associated with that product when obtaining service. The pre-paid maintenance plans do help at least in-part, to equalize some of this dealership charge disparity, since I presume dealerships are bound by a consistent cost assumption across all Nissan dealers when under a pre-paid plan. With that said however, in my initial 2 oil-changes at 2 different dealerships in Edmonton-Alberta area during this current 2016-year (Sherwood Nissan, West End Nissan), I note rather distinctly higher charges for the additive synthetic oil product at one of those dealerships. So I naively queried Nissan Canada in an attempt to understand how Nissan Canada permits such circumstances to occur, particularly where the oil-product should be considered a component “part”, and therefore subject to more consistent Nissan pricing guidance... (apparently not so, silly me). I provided them copies of the invoices from 2 dealerships to demonstrate the gravity of charge-disparity between 2 Alberta Nissan dealers, and also checked one rather common retail auto supplier offering the identical synthetic oil product. One dealer (Sherwood Nissan) offers an extremely competitive rate for that oil-product in their service pricing, suggesting they are offering a price reflecting bulk purchases and genuinely charging only the “net cost” of price difference between the “non-synthetic” oil product covered under pre-paid maintenance plan and higher-value “synthetic” product. The other dealer (West End Nissan) evidences a rather inequitable business practice, since the invoice rate for that same synthetic oil product unreasonably exceeds the off-the-shelf rate at an Alberta retail chain, even after accounting for a suggested 10% dealership parts discount notation on the invoice. How far apart are these prices? 2016 synthetic oil prices (Mobil1): • Sherwood Nissan c.$6.45 /litre net charge (invoice) • West End Nissan c.$14.40 /litre net charge (invoice) • Canadian Tire $13.99 /litre (advertised retail price) In the end, I paid a net extra charge (pre-GST) of $86 for synthetic oil after crediting my pre-paid maintenance plan for the normative oil change cost. In this case, the gravity of net total service charge at West End Nissan is c.$54 higher than other dealership for the same Nissan service (including multi-point inspection each dealership) and same product. On the surface, this appears to be a suspicious effort in dealer cost recovery associated with pre-paid maintenance plan circumstances, and largely removes the benefit of such plans. In my perspective, left unaddressed, it also represents questionable business practices that do not reflect positively on Nissan Canada as a corporation. Well, apparently Nissan stands by their dealers in fullest discretion to charge their customers whatever pricing they wish as independent owned and operated businesses. Guess this experience lessons it indeed best to shop-around, & call for pre-quotes to compare service invoice costs, ...same corporate brand, same vehicle, same service routine, totally different prices. So much for loyalty to the customers interests. We'll seek our services at alternative dealerships. More
