We recently purchased a 2025 Ford Maverick Lariat from Vickar Ford, and if I had to do it again, I’d go elsewhere. Once the sale was made, it felt like they couldn’t get us out the door fast enough so the Vickar Ford, and if I had to do it again, I’d go elsewhere. They sat us in chairs and had us throw a football for a prize, but the moment we got up, we felt irrelevant. Other customers immediately became the priority. We were promised a coffee mug as a consolation prize, but we were left standing there - no mug and no sense of appreciation for choosing to buy from them. We tried to speak with the sales manager before leaving, but he was busy with someone else. Outside, while waiting to have the plates to be changed, we stood around for about 20 minutes before anyone came. A sales agent eventually came out with the wrong wrench and installed the plate so poorly that it could flap in the wind. The whole experience made it seem like they were simply too busy and just wanted customers in and out as quickly as possible. Then, when the weather turned cold and we planned to plug in the vehicle during a cold snap, we discovered it didn’t even have a block heater. In Winnipeg, a block heater is essential and was always standard in any vehicle I have ever bought. In fact I have never bought a vehicle that didn't have a block heater. When we contacted the sales manager, he told us that 80% of his customers don’t plug their vehicles in and quoted us $550 plus labour to install something we had assumed would be included. We explained that we live in a rural area without a heated garage, and this was an unexpected cost for us. He seemed unsympathetic and asked us to leave our name and number—but never followed up. I’ve always been a Ford customer, but I won’t buy from this dealership again, at least not based on how things stand now. Our next step is to contact Ford directly regarding the block heater issue. These guys are very unprofessional. They take a refundable deposit , then when you decide not to purchase the vehicle they refuse to return your deposit. Bought a new car, it had some problems but the staff helped resolve them efficiently. The end of the day, a new car should have no issues, but it happens, and the staff here were all professional in get helped resolve them efficiently. I worked with Jeremy and Kyle in the purchasing of my vehicle, no hassle or pressure in my purchasing experience. Highly recommend dealing with both of them in any future deals/negotiations. When the car had issues, Mark was my service advisor and I can't recommend anyone else. Upfront, honest, and helped get things done as smoothly as possible. I also spoke with Chris who helped bring this experience into a positive one.
