Horrible service. Had a horrible experience at Varsity today. I've been having overheating issues with my 2015 Jeep Wrangler as the weather has been getting warmer. In Had a horrible experience at Varsity today. I've been having overheating issues with my 2015 Jeep Wrangler as the weather has been getting warmer. In traffic I've seen temperatures consistently hitting 235 degrees. As I've owned two jeeps now I've learned to document my issues in great detail, photos and videos of the issues happening. So I had enough and booked an appointment as I also required an oil change. I also purchased the extended 100k warrant for this very reason. So I contacted Varsity and booked an appointment with a nice gentleman and he was great and documented my issue in detail for the technician. I also inquired about running 5w30 in my Jeep because of the heat issues but wanted to confirm it wouldn't effect my warranty. He spent a few minutes looking into it and replied it wouldn't be an issue so I went to the parts house to buy synthetic 5w30 for my appointment. On the day of my appointment it was 8 degrees and raining, worried that my issue wouldn't replicate itself but I had pictures and videos and assumed they would do their due dilligance. When I arrived I dealt with a service advisor by the name of AJ who reviewed the notes and proceeded to rudely tell me that if the tech can't replicate the issue I would be charged an hour labor. I explained the heat I'm seeing seems to be caused by slow moving traffic and warm days and he simply said yet again, if we can't replicate it we will charge you. Then proceeded to ask me how I know it's hitting that tempruture, my response was from the digital read out on the dash gage cluster. He said what about the needle on the cold hot gauge, I mentioned it gets to between the middle and 3/4 mark and he said I shouldn't worry unless it's 3/4 or full to the "H". I'm sorry but I paid $56,000 for my Jeep two years ago and anything above normal is an issue to me yet my concerns where thrown by the wayside by AJ. He then responded with just make another appointment and hopefully it will be hot. I wish before I bought the extended warrant they mentioned that it may take multiple appointment for our techs to find an issue as we will make no significant effort to replicate your issue. By this point I was very upset and told AJ to cancel all but the oil change. About an hour later he called and said your provided oil is 5w30 and that is not the right oil. I explained my communication with the gentleman who booked my appointment and his responded was we can use your oil but I'll document your request and if at anytime there are issues with the engine the warrant will be voided. So I want to protect my investment and use a slightly thicker oil and AJ will make sure to document the use of the wrong oil so my warranty is void when my Jeep overheats and blows a head gasket or worse. The experience was so horrible I'll never go back to Varsity for service or my next Jeep. Buyer beware and steer clear of AJ. More
