The salespeople were very friendly and knowledgeable about the vehicles they recommended. They weren't pushy and were very understanding of our needs and wants. They even managed to find us a vehicle that exceeded our list of wants while still meeting our needs and budget. They answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly. More
Scott Schumka Best service Advisor Ever! on February 16 I called the dealership early in the morning because my engine light was on and I was worried about my fairly new Jeep Cherokee. I do on February 16 I called the dealership early in the morning because my engine light was on and I was worried about my fairly new Jeep Cherokee. I don't know who answered in the service department but the earliest appointment they said I could come was February 23 one week later. I was appalled and almost thought then and there that I would discontinue any dealings with this service provider. I almost thought of trading in our jeep and going to a different company to buy a different kind of car. Then I realizedI really needed to go there so I came to Lakehead motors and I got Scott at the service desk. I told him I didn't have an appointment and I told him what it happened and he was so wonderful indeed. he said he couldn't guarantee that the work would be done today but he would try very hard to have it looked at today for us and he would help me rearrange a rental car in the meantime. He also said that he even though I had to pay for the rental car today he would make sure they get paid after that as was my warranty. Scott worked a miracle and in the afternoon everything was done on my car including a tire rotation and comfort care package and the entire thing just cost me $50. He cancelled the car rental which he arranged for me and I was so grateful for his attention if it wasn't for Scott I may have left this dealership. I love my jeep Cherokee and we have been trying to take care of it since we bought it two years ago. Scott has been the best service agent at that location ever and I think he should get a promotion to service manager but then he would be away from actually dealing with the people and that's where he's excellent thank you Scott More

After some talking with Derek Darson about my options concerning the repairs that they felt were needed he suggested perhaps i speak with John Kelly about upgrading. After speaking with John Kelly about the budget i had and the type of vehicle i would be interested in seeing, i was introduced to Kris Gudmundson who showed me the inventory they had. After test driving a new car i was convinced that buying a new car was the right choice. From there Brandi Caputo helped me with all the difficult paper work and financing choices. Simply a great experience from start to finish. More

Todays experience with the service department This forum to share experiences at dealerships interaction is wonderful to have this venue! My experience is as follows: Preamble I own a 2007 Dodge This forum to share experiences at dealerships interaction is wonderful to have this venue! My experience is as follows: Preamble I own a 2007 Dodge Big Horn 2500 with a 6.5 L Cummins diesel purchased 2nd hand from the USA in 2009. I have had an earlier bad experience at Lakehead Motors a few years earlier and avoided the dealership due to this. I am fortunate that my truck didn’t cause me many problems, so I didn’t have to go to a dealership for work. However whenever work to the truck was required, I went out of my way to get service, in fact I went to Duluth Minnesota (3 - 1/2 hrs away) for service instead of at the local Lakehead Motors (15 minutes away). When I went to the States, I might add that I didn’t sense any attitude and had all of my questions answered courteously without feeling that I did something wrong. Experience today I went into Lakehead Motors today to get a sense of what it would take and cost to reflash my truck computer and if I needed to reflash the truck computer or if its required or not? I approached the service desk and explained my question to the service tech and that the truck was reflashed in 2008 in the US prior to me purchasing the truck. (I might add the US purchase which I was able to get was great and I couldn’t pass it up) Now the Lakehead attendant lost eye contact with me and went back to his computer. Anyhow, at this point it appeared that the service attendant became disinterested in helping me and attitude proud? My sense at the time, was that I did something wrong and not for me to bother him? He said that he didn’t know if I needed to reflash, my truck computer or not, period! I had to push a bit and I asked him for an estimate to reflash the computer. He offered me that he would have to hook me up to a computer to see what version my computer had in it now and would charge me a ½ labor to do this? Even though I brought in the details off the sticker affixed to my truck from the last reflash? Apparently this info is not important, as he didn’t even look at it? He did say that once the version info is known from the truck computer with the update version on the truck computer, he then would reflash the computer as required. For how much $? I guess what happens if I don’t need a reflash? (he couldn’t answer that question either?)My pockets are not endless and I don’t have endless funds. I didn’t need to see if I needed to be reflashed or not and spent money foolishly? The service guy kinda blew me off! I still don’t know or not, if the truck computer needs a reflash, that is why I showed up to the dealership to find out in the first place? My logic is that the attached sticker documented info on my truck, was indicated, so that you could follow up with whether or not you have a current version or not to need a reflash based on the info provided. It appears not? Still confused! If this is common operating practice at Lakehead Motors and acceptable, I guess I’m wrong with this story and what is being implied? But I think that I’m not. I spent 40 years supervising folks in a unionized environment and basically knew who my customer was. It appears that Lakehead Motors Service group has yet to understand who the customer is? Nothing has changed much at Lakehead Motors as it appears. Attitude is alive and well! Yup without question dealing with some crank troublesome customers in the public has its challenges and I don’t think I am a crank troublesome customer, but you can’t assume every customer is a crank and treat them with attitude! Is the attitude I saw today common place at Lakehead Motors? Yes I didn’t purchase the truck from Lakehead Motors, now I sense I get penalized as a customer and potentially have to pay for info without knowing what I am purchasing? That is the way I’m feeling now? Here is the question I have, “Do I have to go 3 ½ hrs away to get treated like a person with a bit of courtesy and get my questions answered?” Please advise? Follow up I received a e mail from Lakehead Motors with a response to call them. I called them and went thru the issue with me. It appears that they didn't have a procedure in place to accommodate a customer asking to reflash the on board computer on my truck? Anyhow the response was prompt. I was advised that the procedure now has been instituted and exists so a appointment was set up. I thanked them for the response. The different service tech I had today was fine, however I don't know what was done about the attitude I experienced. More
