I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Surgenor Hyundai. Not only was the customer service rude and unprofessional, but the sales process felt shady from the start. We were told from the start by Katia Alkhoury (Sales Rep) and Chris Shannon (Sales Manager) that the vehicle we were looking at buying was the last on the lot and was just waiting to be inspected and would be ready for pick-up in 3 days. So of course, we jumped on the opportunity and chose to close the deal on the spot as our current vehicle was no longer functioning. We should have known from the start that this would be a shady dealing as James Haddad (Finance Manager) repeatedly provided us with incorrect fees on our bill of sale. Two days after signing the bill of sale for a new 2025 Hyundai Venue (and a day prior to going to pick up our new vehicle), I received a call from Katia Alkhoury, that I was ‘mistakenly’ sold a fleet vehicle that had already been purchased. She told me that the same type of vehicle would be available for pick-up ‘hopefully’ later in the week (but no specific date was provided). When we raised concerns, staff were dismissive and even borderline aggressive, showing no accountability for the misinformation or the wasted time. When asked if they could compromise for the mistake and inconvenience (e.g giving us a discount on our new vehicle or providing us with a loaner vehicle until our new vehicle arrives), they refused. While expressing our concerns to them over the phone, Mike Patterson (Sales Manager) even told us that our deal is cancelled and hung up on us. It felt like they were more interested in closing a deal than treating customers with honesty, respect and quite frankly human decency. After a few conversations, we had reached a compromise that we would receive a $50 gas card and a loaner vehicle until our new vehicle arrives (keeping in mind that they continued to push the new vehicles arrival date). When we went to go pick up our loaner vehicle, we were honest with Chris Shannon and expressed that so far we’ve experienced poor customer service. Chris Shannon wouldn’t even apologize for their mistakes and continued to defend his staffs unprofessional behaviour. Unfortunately, Chris Shannon continued to state “we can just cancel the deal” to our concerns, so we decided to terminate our contract. A simple “I’m sorry” goes a long way and would have kept us as customers. I would never return to this dealership, and I highly recommend that others take their business elsewhere. More
Very Happy with Surgenor Hyundai They replace a damage exhaust flex pipe when it should been done and fix by where i bought the car in Gatineau Hull Hyundai while they said they would damage exhaust flex pipe when it should been done and fix by where i bought the car in Gatineau Hull Hyundai while they said they would not fix because of the damage what can they understand it was damage when i pick the car on my second oil change i deside to stop at a oil changer they told me there was a oil pan leak and flex pipe damage plus there was a lot of mud ask the Dealer to clean it but nothing was done by the Gatineau Hyundai dealer where i purchased the vehicle ...... what an amazing experience purchasing my new 2023 Tucson Hybrid. The team here is fantastic to work with. this is my 7th Hyundai and 6th purchased from this dealership.
