I genuinely did not think a dealership could fumble every step of a customer experience this badly, but Stratford Hyundai has proven me wrong at every turn. What started with a simple, straightforward agreement spiraled into months of incompetence, ghosting, and complete disregard for accountability — topped off with a car that has been a disappointment from day one. When I purchased my vehicle, one major concern was the set of brand-new winter tires I was essentially “losing” from my previous vehicle. I was assured — repeatedly — that Stratford Hyundai had four Firestone winter tires in storage, that they would transfer the ownership to me, provide one year of free storage, and handle everything seamlessly come winter. None of that happened. The agreement wasn’t written at the point of sale, but I was reassured multiple times that “it’s all taken care of at the shop level.” That trust was a mistake. Winter arrives. I do my part: I book early, confirm multiple times, show up on time, and sit in the service waiting area for an hour and a half — only to be told they have no record of my tires. No notes. No transfer. No storage. No responsibility. I was told they’d “fix it,” order replacement tires, and follow up. They didn’t. I had to chase them down like I owed them money — not the other way around. Finally, after persistent follow-ups, I am told the tires are “ready.” Given their track record, I refuse to let them touch my vehicle again and instead take the tires to my trusted local shop. And that’s when I learn the final truth: • They are NOT Firestones. • They are cheap off-brand Chinese tires. • They are NOT on rims. • They are the WRONG SIZE for my vehicle. The fact that a dealership provided winter tires that don’t even fit the vehicle is not a “miscommunication.” It’s negligence. But unfortunately, the problems don’t end with the tires. Let’s talk about the vehicle itself. The battery is an absolute disappointment — draining constantly on normal drives with none of the stability or efficiency I had with my previous Hyundai Ioniq 5. This new vehicle is smaller, yet somehow gives me worse range. It feels cramped, underpowered, and like I downgraded in every meaningful way. Yes, I ultimately made the decision — but I was heavily steered into a vehicle that, in hindsight, never made sense for my needs. That part I own. The rest? That’s on Stratford Hyundai. The combination of false assurances, disorganization, lack of accountability, zero follow-up, and delivering the wrong tires — along with a vehicle that has underperformed from the moment I drove it off the lot — makes this one of the worst dealership experiences I’ve ever had. If you value honesty, competence, safety, or even the basic expectation that a dealership knows which tires fit which car — take your business anywhere else. More
they have changed my wheels with the winter ones on my Venue 2023. Got our vehicle appraised for roughly 28000 over the phone with plans to trade it in for a 2024 palisade. Made an appointment with Jim Radyk. On top of that he told us After chatting for a while that the 2024 palisade we made an appointment to come see had been sold that very afternoon. Why not tell us before we drive an hour and getting a sitter for 4 kids? Very shady and unprofessional. I would never go to Stratford Hyundai again. More
Do not buy from this company. My brand new Kona has broken down and left me stranded 3 times within the first 2 months of having it. I want to draw attention to the supportive assistance provided by the team at the Stratford Hyundai, Service Department. Last week I noticed a concerning message on my instrument panel. I was sure I had provided by the team at the Stratford Hyundai, Service Department. Last week I noticed a concerning message on my instrument panel. I was sure I had mistakenly pushed some button to get this message. I went to my local dealership but given I did not have an appointment with a technician they were too busy to look at my car. I called Stratford Hyundai where I purchased my car and they immediately provided support: Tim tried to problem solve with me over the phone but I was not able to get this message off my instrument panel. I asked if it would be possible for someone at the service department to look at my car if I came to Stratford. Tim advised yes, a technician could look at my car. I live an hour from Stratford and when I arrived Meg ,the technician, immediately came out to my car and showed me what button I had accidentally pushed. Meg also showed me how to correct this problem. This process took 5-10 minutes. Later that day Tim text me to find out if I was satisfied with the resolution of the problem. Tim and Meg went above and beyond to provide assistance and support. I’m glad I purchased my car at Stratford Hyundai, but instead of changing to my local dealership I continue to drive the hour to the Stratford dealership because of their Service Department which is dedicated to providing assistance to customers. When it’s time for me to purchase a new car I will do so at Stratford Hyundai, given I know the quality of service and support I have always received over the past 6 years that I have been attending the Service Department for regular car maintenance. The weather miserable, Jim was right out to see if he could help. I can say he wasn’t pushy but checked in with me a few days later to see if I wanted to book an appointment. Needless to say an appointment was booked and a Kona N Line was purchased. But that’s not all! He offers after the sale to continue answering any questions or concerns. Highly recommend as your go to salesman. More

I do acknowledge it is the customers responsibility to know what they are signing but the dealership should be more customer focused. If you are not a strong negotiator avoid purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. More

I urge all potential customers to take the time to review each and every entry on the BILL OF SALE prior to signing. This dealership had added: EXTENDED WARRANTY, PROTECTION PACKAGE, and WINTER PACKAGE, which amounted to over $6,000.00 to the total purchase price. I was fortunate to catch this and had two of these charges removed, but failed to notice the exorbitant WARRANTY CHARGE. I feel this dealership was very deceptive in its dealings with me. I do acknowledge it is the customer's responsibility but the dealership also should be more customer focused. Just a heads up for any future customer. More
