With a referral system, both parties are supposed to get $500 in credit toward the purchase of the vehicle, parts, or service. I have had three experiences with this dealership not honour the referral system. I strongly recommend selecting a different dealership as otherwise I have had great experience with Hyundai and GoAuto. For the details: Over the last two years, my husband and I have purchased two vehicles and referred a friend. When I purchased my first vehicle, I was referred and they claimed that since I didn't bring the referral number up immediately when I first started talking to a sales associate, I couldn't use my referral number and get the discount. So, when I referred my friend, we made sure that he brought up the referral number right away. They made my friend believe that both he and I were getting the referral credits. Recently I went to use my $500 referral credit to have a command start put in. I talked to three different individuals in advance saying I wanted to use my $500 credit, each saying it was ok. It was even on all the paperwork I signed. After they had inserted the command start, they told me I had no referral credits on my account. This is an error as two months earlier I had referred a friend who provided all the appropriate information and received his side of the referral credits. In my conversation with the general manager about this issue (referring a friend and not getting the credits), he was very rude, called me a liar, contradicted himself MANY times in the conversation, and was not willing to make ANY effort to rectify their "error" at all. I had to pay the full cost (the extra $500) in order to get my car back. After talking to my friend whom I referred, we also found out that they didn't honour his referral credits after had he referred someone and wanted to use his referral credits to put in a command start. They did the EXACT same thing to him. About the product: The basic remote start was EXTREMELY expensive at $750 for the basic model it is (lock, unlock, start). I only purchased it from here because I had the $500 discount I was suppose to be able to use. The "unlock trunk" feature does not work, which they did not tell me until after it was installed. For this cost, you can buy much higher quality remote starts, such as a Titan two-way remote start with an LCD screen, 4,000 feet range, and smart-phone capability. I was completely ripped off. I also had to fight to get any type of manual for the remote start. About the service: The car was not finished on time. I dropped by car off at 8:30am and I was told to bring the loner car back by 4:00pm, which I did, and then I had to wait at the shop for another hour because they were not finished installing the remote. They ended up having my car for 8.5 hours that day. The only benefit from this entire experience was that they washed the exterior of my car for me. Indeed, a $500 car wash... I strongly recommend you avoid this dealership ENTIRELY. They are in the practice of blatantly ripping people off. More
I was looking to buy my first car. After going though some pretty horrific car accidents in winter I knew I wanted a bigger vehicle with all wheel drive. Those were my two must haves. After looking at some pretty horrific car accidents in winter I knew I wanted a bigger vehicle with all wheel drive. Those were my two must haves. After looking at countless cars and SUV's I decided that I wanted a Hyundai Tucson. Funny enough Southtown Hyundai was the first place I went looking and ended up being the dealership I came back too after my hunt for the right car was over. The friendly low pressure atmosphere made buying my first car an exciting experience. Mike was great and let me ask even the silly questions without judgement. I had a great experience here and would definitely recommend Southtown Hyundai to anyone looking for a car! More
I wouldn't recommend buying anything here.. price is right for purchasing they really friendly. But we bought a 2012 tucson and a 2010 Hyundai elantra sport..... tucson brand new 200 km on it and elantra 40 000 km.... so far both been in for service. Suv twice car 3times. In less than a yr for car and 14 months for suv. Service there is THE WORST EVER!!!!!! if really interested in a hyundai I REALLY recommend another city or another dealer...... andthey try and black mail you on giving them a GOOD review by suckering you into an additional 150 $ on your "GO AUTO" card..... so these 4+stars of reviews. .... I'd def put $$$ they got an extra $$$ on their go auto card. Thus is Alberta i don't need an extra 150 $ in go auto money to lie and xxxxxxxx for service i never got and I dam well swear you or anyone else will never get!!!!!. I'd rant on my service experiences but if i did I would never be able to post this..... More
I have been given the run around in regards to my cars warranty and rental vehicle. My engine blew up on Oct.26,2013. Since I am twenty years of age, Hyundai cannot lend me a rental. So, I specifically as warranty and rental vehicle. My engine blew up on Oct.26,2013. Since I am twenty years of age, Hyundai cannot lend me a rental. So, I specifically asked if I find my own rental company who can rent to me, will Hyundai reimburse me? The answer Shaun gave me was no. The policy states that yes, in-fact they will up to five days and for $30 a day and I even contacted head office who informed me of this policy. I have been without a car for exactly two weeks as of today and am very unsatisfied with Hyundai. I will never purchase a Hyundai again and as soon as my engine is REPLACED, I will be trading in this piece of garbage car along with the horrible service I have received. I feel very discriminated and ostracized against considering I am a young female. More

I was tired of my old van. They picked up my van to take it for an appraisal so I didn't have to leave work. They returned it and gave me an excellent price on the appraisal. They got me an excellent deal o it for an appraisal so I didn't have to leave work. They returned it and gave me an excellent price on the appraisal. They got me an excellent deal on my vehicle and an excellent deal on my interest rate. They warranty is fantastic. They explained everything to me so there were no surprises. They also picked up my vehicle to install the dvd players that I ordered for my children. I didn't have to miss work to get the work done. I would recommend the vehicle as well as the dealership anytime! More
I had a great experience when I purchased my 2007 Elantra from this dealership in January 2012. But then I had to take it in for an issue in July 2013 and I have to say that this service department is the wo from this dealership in January 2012. But then I had to take it in for an issue in July 2013 and I have to say that this service department is the worst service I have experienced. Took a week to get the car in. Then I didn't hear from them for three weeks because they were "having trouble finding the part". Every time I call this department I get bumped back to reception because no one answers the phone. After the fifth time of being bumped back to reception, even the receptionist was annoyed and she sighed and said, "They never answer!" When I went to the dealership to get a copy of the work order, I stood at the service desk for five minutes without getting any attention at all. I was the only customer standing there. The assistant manager was having a personal conversation with the shuttle driver and everyone else was just sitting there. I wondered for a moment if I was invisible. I finally had to go stand RIGHT in front of the computer one guy was sitting at to get noticed. Of course what I needed done wasn't covered by warranty and I was quoted $700 for the repair. I got a quote from another Hyundai for $300 less. They got back to me the same day I called them and can get my car in this week. So, I called to cancel my appointment at Southtown...and go through the same ritual of being bumped back to reception over and over. Finally I get to speaking to someone and I am told there is no appointment for that day for my name. Why am I not surprised?? I will NEVER go back to this place again. More
On September 2nd 2013, I walked into this dealership to inquire about a new Hyundai Santa Fe. The salesperson (Aaron) was useful and friendly; however, I had a really bad experience with the general manage inquire about a new Hyundai Santa Fe. The salesperson (Aaron) was useful and friendly; however, I had a really bad experience with the general manager at this location. To use his own words, this pseudo-business man got mad at me because he assumed I was "playing" with him, just because I changed my purchasing strategy while negotiating. I do not think this a valid reason to be rude. He could have said no to my offer, and that would have been it, but instead, he was very disrespectful to me and he practically kicked me out of the office!!. For all readers out there, negotiate with this manager at your own risk. One of my friends had told me about a bad experience he had with them (about undisclosed information while performing a routine maintenance to his car), but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone who shows negotiating skills. These guys think that customers should buy cars without comparing quotes from different dealers, and always accept their terms. Apparently, they are the only ones allowed to play around. I am very, very frustrated. More
