Rob even took additional steps for me to view the car fully from BC via a very thorough video. My car was fully inspected, timing belt and brakes were done and it was all in tip top shape for a trip across BC. Thank you to the technicians Mike and Nam. I hear Nam has been with this dealer for 26 years!! This shows the place is a good place to shop if the staff actually stay. My car got inspected in BC and they could not believe what great shape the car was in when I got it from Rob. I will completely recommend anyone from any province to shop with this dealership and definitely with Rob. The experience overall seemed difficult but turned out to be super simple! SCAM ARTISTS I recently moved my 2006 Jetta from Kelowna to Calgary. I went to South Centre VW because they were rated overwhelmingly positive on Google Reviews. L I recently moved my 2006 Jetta from Kelowna to Calgary. I went to South Centre VW because they were rated overwhelmingly positive on Google Reviews. Little that I know I almost became victim to the biggest fraud in my life. I My vehicle failed inspection for the following reasons (without tax and Miscellaneous fees): Front Brakes at 4MM - $500 All 4 tires uneven wear and weather cracked- $650 Waterpump Leaking - $807 Passenger Side Airbag Igniter Fault - $900 Wheel Alignment - $190 Both Front reflector lights bulbs burnt out - $100 My total quote to fix all of these issues was just under $4,000 (about the Black Book value of my Car). I almost said yes to for them to fix it, but I thought something was off here...so I told to hold off and the following is how these issues got resolved. Front Brakes - Although they were adamant they will not pass the inspection without new brakes, the legal requirement for Out of Province Inspection is 3MM. Result - Currently need to replaced, will do in next couple months. Cost - $0 Tires - I took my car to OK Tire and 3C Car care centre. I went to my dad's tire guy at OK ready to pay him for new tires. He did a full inspection, although I was willing to pay him, he insisted that the tires had even wear and two years left on them. He even gave me a written notice that these tires are fit for inspection. 3C Car Care centre also confirmed that the tires are in good shape and passable for all regulation. Result - Will wait two years. Cost - $0 WaterPump Leaking - This was one part of the inspection they did right, but they missed the broken holders, and cracked serpentine belts. I didn't trust the dealership here but took it to my old Kelowna VW for repair at fraction of the cost. Result - Replaced Cost - $1,094 (with the missed repairs including tax.) Passenger Airbag - They insisted that my passenger Airbag had to be replaced @ $900. Turns out there was a recall on the vehicle (which you'd assume VW dealership would know about). The problem was with just the connector underneath the seat which took an hour of labour. VW Kelowna fixed this for Free and told me that replacing the airbag wouldn't have done anything to get rid of that airbag light. Result - Connector Attached. Cost - $0 Vehicle is pulling to the right - My OK Tire guy said it was unlikely because the wear on the tire was so EVEN!! Not going to bother with scam report. Result - Did/will do nothing. Cost - $0 Both Front Reflector Bulbs are burned out - No bulbs are burnt out. Nothing needed to be done. Result - All lights functioning Cost - $0 The worst part of this experience was that I paid them $160.55 for this report and drove 30KM's out of my way to get there...only a real scam artist can get away with that. I can't believe I trusted them off google reviews. I will also be reporting South Centre to Better Business Bureau and writing reviews in other key places... There were no high pressure sales (thanks Trevor). I felt comfortable dealing with Trevor and I feel we got a very good deal on an excellent vehicle. I love driving my Passat! Part of the deal included fixing a fairly sizable dent on the side of the vehicle. I closed the deal on Saturday and expected a call near the end of the week (based on past experience with other dealers). To my surprise, I was called Monday afternoon and my car was ready. Justin and Darren in the finance area had everything ready and it literally took a few minutes that evening to sign the papers and pick up my car. Trevor took the time to show me the features of my new car. I highly recommend this dealership. They really know what customer service is all about. More
