Had a timing cover seal replaced under warranty here. Oil and filter change is part of the process after changing the seal. They said they replaced the motor oil, but the oil was still just as dark as i Oil and filter change is part of the process after changing the seal. They said they replaced the motor oil, but the oil was still just as dark as if it was driven 5000 kms, but problem was I had only put approx 30 kms on it so I took it to another Ford dealer in the city to have the oil changed immediately (that way there is a proper Ford co. paper trail for service work). Drove about 70 kms and checked the oil and the oil is completely acceptable and looking new and Amber coloured like it normally would when new/fairly new. Same brand of motor oil was used as well (Motorcraft) to not throw off the check I was doing. Concluded River City Ford definitely didn’t change the motor oil and filter. They tried to state the direct injection makes the oil dirty that quickly, but i just figured out that’s not the case. At least not THAT quick at making it as dirty as they stated after getting the oil changed at another Ford dealership. I have evidence of the filter not being changed as well. This is likely 100% on the technician. Ford wouldn’t be too happy knowing their parts on the work order don’t end up in the customer’s engine. But I’ve held off calling Ford Canada, but the service dept when speaking to the tech last week was adimate he changed it. Wish he would have just told the truth… cause mistakes can happen like forgetting. Sucks being lied to by a mechanic and the whole fiasco. I’m out the cost of an oil a change I shouldn’t have had to pay for too. I should say Sran, the service advisor was very professional and was just stuck in the middle of this. I’d like a couple free oil and filter changes for my trouble and then I’d be happy to take down the review. More
Went in for warranty, got talked down to when confronted about it was told “this is how I talk” warranty clerk was annoyed that we were disturbing him only to have the same girl tell him that “ the customer about it was told “this is how I talk” warranty clerk was annoyed that we were disturbing him only to have the same girl tell him that “ the customer is standing right there” Waiting still on phone call from service manager after leaving 4 messages still hasn’t returned call. Customer service is not number 1 priority here that’s for sure and ZERO satisfaction if you have to go for any warranty work go to any other dealership than this one !!! More
