Poor Service, Poor quality and Shady aftermarket warranty One year ago I bought by truck from River City (November 8 2016) I had been looking for a specific truck, with specific specks, year, package included One year ago I bought by truck from River City (November 8 2016) I had been looking for a specific truck, with specific specks, year, package included, Max kilometers, in a reasonable price range. It took me several months of looking and waiting until I found it in an online add for River City Ford. I was speaking and texting with the Sayed in sales regarding that specific truck as it was exactly what I wanted. I live in Ontario, a 4 hour drive away but was whiling and able to drive down for it. I bought my dream truck! What should have been a great experience has turned into a frustrating, exhausting and expensive series of events. Which has me currently without my vehicle since last Wednesday and for at least 3 more weeks, and aleast $1255 in rental fee’s, due to the Extended Warranty they sell you through Tricare. However My issues with River City started the day before I bought the truck, which I really should have taken that as a sign. Sayed had understandably tried pushing other trucks on me, newer more expensive models, and even cheaper trucks but I told him that particular truck was the ONLY one I was interested in. I told Sayed I would like to try and make it down for a test drive Nov 7th. We agreed I would travel to the city, but it would be late and VERY close to closing time – Kept in touch as I traveled but Sayed called me 5-10 mins before closing to cancel and do it the next day. Understandable, but a kicker as I drove right past the dealer as I hung up and had to drive back to the other side of the city where I was staying. The next morning I got there, but Sayed had taken the day off sick. I dealt with his brother Nazir who was polite and friendly. We took the truck for a test drive, got back and I did a better walk around on it. Where There was significant wear and tear that was not shown in the pictures including – the ford emblem on the back torn off, multiple scratches on the body of the truck – Stained speakerS Inside the truck, and lots of scuffs and scratches in the front and back seat areas. It also looked like it hadn’t been cleaned yet. Nazir went inside and verified it had been – I lifted the passenger matt to find many chewed sunflower seeds - He asked again and sure enough they made a mistake and it hadn’t been cleaned. He assured me they would detail and fix it up before I drive away in it. After spending time negotiating the price I noticed it was more expensive than the ad, and the Kilometers were significantly higher than. I verified the VINs and it was not the same truck I specifically said I wanted! My truck was still at their CARMEN dealership!! Needles to say the process took the entire day from start to finish. Jev was the Manager (?) who Nazir was working through while I was negotiating the price and when he finalized the sale price he was rude, abrupt and appeared very irritated. Since I bought my truck 1 year ago I’ve had to buy all new tires (6 months after purchase because they were extremely worn), Had the 4x4 system fixed and now, the front diff BLEW up causing not only quite a few thousand dollars in repairs, but a near accident on a north western Ontario winter highway. I will add that I’m up to date an all my require maintenance, and take excellent care of my vehicles. If I had know more about the grief you get form an after market warranty company I definitely would not have gone through with the sale – I assumed that a reputable company such as River City Ford would deal with a more reputable business and not the kind you would expect from a small used car dealership. After speaking with a few ford dealers where I live – they only sell ford extended warrenty and some won’t even except business from customers with after market places because of the loops they put them through. Jason one of River City service advisors had even admitted to me he is fed up with tricare – he was also rude with me when I called for help about this warranty company. On more then one occasion he interrupted me to speak with someone on his end not related to our conversation and had even mentioned that He had not even gone for lunch yet that day. 8 days and 500 km before my diff blew, I had an oil change and full system check from the ford dealer in my town – where everything came back clear, yet after receiving all paper work and picuters of the damage TRICARE has now requested a TEARDOWN and diagnosis of the vehicle which my shop can’t do for atleast 2 weeks, the process itself will take 2-3 days and they need to wait for approval and a third party inspector to come down and inspect it and my Ford mechanic has to leave everything apart, keep all fluids, and leave it in ONE OF THEIR 6 BAYS the entire time. Tricare covers $265 in car rentals, which still leaves me with a bill of atleast $1255 in rental fee’s. – and THAN it will still take approx a week for the actual repair! When I asked river city ford if they can help me and take on the repairs at their shop as THEY are the dealer I had bought from, and THEY are the ones who sell this Tricare crap, and it’s not fair for MY local ford dealership to be short 1 bay – 1/6th of their repair business – and this damage is entirely not on me or my mechanics. They said they might be able to take it on, they could get the work done much quicker in their bigger shop, but I would have to get it towed at MY expense which would be EXTREMELY expensive and it wouldn’t be worth it. Overall This review is on the extremely poor service I received at River City, also on Tricare which I think is fair because river city is selling it to you. More

Never ending negative experience I was looking for a new or used vehicle to replace the Explorer I've had since 1999. While looking around on my own, I'm approached by Nazir and we di I was looking for a new or used vehicle to replace the Explorer I've had since 1999. While looking around on my own, I'm approached by Nazir and we discuss what I'm looking for. I'm mainly interested in a good, solid, dependable vehicle for a lot of highway driving to and from work each day. We even discuss my ceiling in terms of monthly payments. Nazir brings in another salesperson (in training) and I'm given "tours" of this and those parts of the dealership - and we hadn't even yet sat down to discuss numbers. It was premature to say the least. Fast forward to the three of us finally discussing the vehicle and money. Nazir shows me a history of what work River City has done to the vehicle to bring it to / keep it at code. Why show me something like this that clearly shows River City is padding the bill? Two different wheel alignments in 6 months? When I asked why, no one could answer me. Then Nazir presents me with numbers that are completely out-of-line, so far above my ceiling (that I'd clearly stated to him) that you'd need a telescope to see them. I walked away, and am very glad I did. And then the ridiculousness continued: phone calls from all sorts of individuals, including the sales manager, Joe, who "just wanted to talk," and promised no more phone calls. I'm still getting phone calls, the latest one from Darren - some team leader or manager - who wanted to know how my experience was. I told him to talk to Joe, the sales manager. I've changed my number to get away from the phone calls. More
