FRUSTRATING CAR PURCHASE EXPERIENCE My recent car purchase experience at the RACEWAY CHRYSLER. 08/14/2015 Last Thursday I signed an agreement to purchase a 2013 Chrysler 200 S. The My recent car purchase experience at the RACEWAY CHRYSLER. 08/14/2015 Last Thursday I signed an agreement to purchase a 2013 Chrysler 200 S. The agreed purchase price including everything came to $ 20,000.00. Included in this purchase price is a service charge of $ 400.00. I was told that this amount includes everything and the car will be mine on full payment. I gave them a deposit of $ 2,500. The balance was to be paid when I went to pick up the car. The name of the salesman is SAL DELLATERZA who got us to sign the deal. He said that the car will be ready for pick-up on Monday and I was to pay the balance of $ 17,500.00 at that time. I arranged with my son to drive me to the dealer because I did not have a car at that time. I was to go on Monday after 4 p.m. My son made arrangement to come home early from work and also my wife was to join me at the time of the pick up. I texted to Sal that we are coming to pick up the car. He called and said that the car was not ready and the reason was they were waiting for brake pads to come. At that time he said the car will be ready on Tuesday. Then on Tuesday another person from RACEWAY CHRYSLER called and said the car was not ready. I got frustrated and gave him my piece of my mind. He promised 100% the car will be ready on Wednesday. We arrived at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the RACEWAY CHRYSLER to conclude the deal. It took them two and a half hour just to get the paperwork signed because they were not ready with it. At this time we paid them the agreed amount of $ 17,500.00. Then they came up with another bill of $ 28.00 for name transfer of vehicle. So I told them that in our deal I have paid $ 400.00 for such expenses and it is ridiculous for them to ask for this extra amount. ( I also gave them my old car license plate to install on the new car we purchased.) Eventually I had to take it up with the used car manager SAM SAFARDI and explained the same to him. He said if we did not pay this amount he will not let me take my newly purchased car in a threatening voice. Eventually he agreed to pull back their false claim of $ 28.00. (If I could afford to pay $ 20,000.00 I could afford to pay them $ 28.00). Since it was not right to pay we objected. They also charged me $ 40.00 for gas and when I picked up the car it had half a tank of gas. On August 18th my gas tank war near empty so I filled up $ 40.00 worth of gas. The needle in the gas gauge showed between 3/4 to full tank. That means they only put about $ 25.00 worth of gas and charged me $ 40.00. I wonder how they sleep at night. Then the salesman said that we had to take the car with one set of keys. I have lived in Toronto for about 45 years and purchased many cars. Always the cars came with 2 sets of keys. So we told him to get a key cut. After about half an hour SAM SAFARDI came and said that they cannot cut the key at that time and he called us the next day to pick-up the key and it would take about 20 minutes wait time for the key preparation. I called him before I left. He did not pick up his phone and I left a message for him to call me. He still has not replied. I arrived there and went to see him. He passed me two times and ignored me totally. Then he sent the salesman to talk to me. The salesman asked us to wait in the lounge and he will look after it. He did not come to see us for about half an hour so I went in the showroom and he was comfortably talking to another salesman. When he saw me he said that the key was special order and will not be ready for another 2 to 3 weeks. Both these people could have informed us the previous evening about the situation but they purposely made us come to the show room. It takes us 3 hours to come and go back home every time we go there. Even the next day they made us wait over half an hour which they could have avoided. I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE SECOND SET OF KEYS. If you are in the industry you can make a few phone calls and find the key and have it in your show room by FEDEX OR PUROLATOR THE NEXT DAY. THAT IS IF YOU WANT TO GIVE SERVICE TO YOUR CUSTOMER. IF YOU STILL WANT TO HARASS THE CUSTOMER ITS 2-3 WEEKS. WE FELT HARASSED BY THESE TWO PEOPLE. So what we experienced in the deal is 1. INCOMPETENCE FOR DELAYING THE DELIVERY 2. SNEAKY BEHAVIOUR TO HIT YOU WITH EXTRA CHARGE OF $ 28.00 3. THREATENING ACTION FROM THE MANAGER THAT WE WOULD NOT GET THE CAR IF WE DID NOT PAY $ 28.00 4. MOST OF ALL THE MALICIOUS BEHAVIOUR ON THE PART OF BOTH THE SALESMAN AND THE USED CAR MANAGER FOR MAKING US COME THE NEXT DAY FOR NOTHING. 5. OUR WHOLE FAMILY IS TOTALLY FRUSTRATED DEALING WITH SUCH LOW LIFE PEOPLE AND THEIR BEHAVIOUR. THE CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE SHOULD BE A HAPPY ONE BUT HAS BECOME ABSOLUTELY SOUR. I AM WRITING THIS SO THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY GETS TO KNOW HOW THE LOW LIFE EMPLOYEES CAN RUIN THEIR BUSINESS. NATURALLY, I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND INFORM OTHERS ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE. Sept. 08/2015 I got a call to come to the dealership to pick up the second key which they were to prepare for me. I arrived there and again they actually did not have the key. They said that computer shows there is a key but physically they could not find the key. THIS IS THE PEAK OF INCOMPETENCE. I was thinking what else can go wrong at this dealership. I then went away and told the guy to call me only when he sees a key in his hand. I got a call in a couple of days and eventually got the key from them which they were supposed to give me at the time of delivery of the car. SO I MADE THREE EXTRA TRIPS FOR THE KEY. YOU THINK THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD COMPENSATE ME FOR THE TIME I WASTED ? I ACTUALLY WASTED AN EQUIVALENT OF A FULL DAY AND THE KILOMETERS I TRAVELED. Sept. 14/2015 We were told if ANYTHING goes wrong with the car within 45 days of purchase they will fix the problem. I complained about one of the speakers was not functioning proper. I was told that this is NOT INCLUDED. Not just that but every time I texted my salesman about it he delayed replying me. So I emailed the problem to the President. I have written 2 emails and he has no courtesy to reply me. If the President is a slacker what can I expect from the employees. I GUESS THIS EXPLAINS THE WHOLE SITUATION. IF THERE WAS A LOWER RATING AVAILABLE THAn ONE STAR THAT IS WHAT I WOULD GIVE THEM. More
