Had a terrible experience bringing my 22' Tundra Platinum in for warranty work. I wanted to have the open recalls completed on my truck, as well as two other issues I was having. They were able to complete the open recalls, and moved onto my two complaints. My two complaints were that I had an error on the dash saying that the "front active spoiler malfunction" as well as "12v battery charging malfunction". They diagnosed the truck and determined they needed to replace the front active spoiler first. They did this job under warranty and solved that issue, no complaints there. The next issue was the 12v battery charging malfunction(something that is common in 22+ Toyota's as there are posts about it all over the internet). They diagnosed three possible issues. One being the ECU, the other being the alternator, and the last being the wiring harness. They booked my truck in and told me they were going to try the alternator replacement first. After a few days they notified me the job was done but that the issue wasn't solved. They then told me that they were not able to go any further on my truck because they suspect its been modified. These false accusations and claims by Performance Toyota have no merit and no substantiation. Why would you do any warranty work at all, and then just decide to stop when you cant solve the problem? I then received a called from my service advisor(AMANDA TENNANT), technician(BRAD CREECHAN) & Service Manager(JENNIFER MURPHY). During this call, Jennifer restated that they would not be able to go any further with the warranty work and that they weren't interested in helping me any further. At this time my service advisor AMANDA emailed me telling me to call Toyota Canada, so I did. I have no opened a claim with Toyota Canada. When on the phone with Toyota Canada they did suggest trying another dealer in the area. WIth this recommendation I went to Welland Toyota, at which point the service manager there told me that Jennifer Murphy the service manager at Performance had called him and told him not to touch my truck, and he asked me to leave with the truck. I then called Toyota Canada and made another complaint and opened the case even further. I also then left a voicemail for Mark Lovelock, the GM of Performance Toyota. He called me back telling me the same thing I was already told, and was not interested in offering a resolution, or listening to what I had to say about my situation. The fact that employees from Performance are going and calling other dealerships to tell them not to touch my truck is not only embarrassing, but illegal. Mark Lovelock told me they were "extending professional curtesy to other dealerships" by telling them not to touch my truck. We will see what Toyota Canada has to say. I find it very hypocritical of Performance Toyota claiming my truck is modified, because last time I checked your own technicians use the shop to modify other people’s vehicles on the weekend, in the Toyota shop. Or how about the remote starters and immobilizers that are being installed at the dealership? Modifying the factory wiring to install them… I will also mention that Performance Toyota lets their technicians use the shop on weekends to work on other people’s cars, including aftermarket MODIFICATIONS. I found it extremely unprofessional of AMANDA TENNANT to hang up the phone on me on 3/28/25 when I was talking to her. The thing I find even more odd, and even threatening, is that she kept telling me her husband is a police officer..Im not sure what that has to do with anything but I took it as a personal threat. I will be filing a formal complaint with Performance Auto Group based on this conduct. -1 for AMANDA TENNANT -1 for JENNIFER MURPHY -1 for MARK LOVELOCK I will never recommend Performance Toyota to my friends or family, I would actually tell them to stay away. EDIT 09/23/2026 - I now own a 2025 Tundra, no thanks to Performance. I take it to Welland Toyota now. More
